drop_m posted a topic in Repair Q&AHello there, i've just bought a nice second generation Parker Vacumatic whom need restoration. I managed to pull off the filling unit - with a big effort - but than i've found that part of the old diaphragm has petrified on the inside walls of the barrel. Any advice of how to soften it? It seems virtually impossible to get rid of it in his actual state. Ps. I - still - don't have an ultrasonic bath
HI, guys, I wanna restore my parker 51 vacumatic by myself , but have no idea about what kind diaphragm would fit my pen best. Here is the pic I got from a website who offer all kind of sacs. could you guys tell me which one is the best for parker 51. Standard or Debutante, please ? Thanks.
Hello, I tried looking around for a related topic, but couldn't find one that answered my question...If I store a vintage pen, after I clean it thoroughly of course, and it has a rubber sac (Eversharp Skyline, Esterbrook J etc) or a rubber diaphragm (Parker Vacumatic, "51" Vac), is there any danger that the rubber will ossify and crumble after a period of time spent in storage? Thank you. Cheers, Dragos
