  1. Sometimes a new pen comes along and just shouts, “You need to have me now!” Often these pens come from the big name manufacturers with big advertising budgets designed to whip up the desire of people who have never touched the pen in person. As much as I try not to get sucked into the frenzy vortex, it happens sometimes to the best of us. Then there are magnificent pens that come to you unlooked for and seemingly from somewhere you would never expect. The new Wahl-Eversharp Decoband fits into this category. The W-E pen company was resurrected several years ago by co-owner Syd Saperstein (kno

    A Wahl Eversharp Confession

Dear all, I'm hooked to Wahl Eversharp pens. And I'm here to admit that (with perhaps a short quasi-question). It didn't happened by design or by my own will - but by coincidence and through circumstances. When I got into flexible nibs, vintage pens and so on - and started to investigate more, I was drawn by default to Waterman pens. What I have seen and read it was sufficient for me to believe that's the way to go. While trying to find a decent 52 with super-flexible nib, one that writes exactly as what I've seen in videos and reviews, photos... I ended up purchasing two Wahl pens. On

    Wahl-Eversharp Decoband

Wahl-Eversharp Decoband pens joined the Sakura Fountain Pen Gallery collection. A "Pen For Men" : oversized, heavy, nice materials, lovely details, gorgeous flex nib. Gatsby Black, Rosewood, Gatsby Red and the Amalfi. http://www.sakurafountainpengallery.com/en/boutique/new-wahl-eversharp-schrijfwaren Hope you like them too. Catherine PS : The Amalfi blue is the most beautiful colour blue I have every seen !
  4. I've read the few reviews written about the new Wahl-Eversharp Decoband with the superflex nib, but I haven't seen a review by a woman (or someone with small hands). I know this is an oversize pen, and it weighs 45 grams uncapped. I'm interested in hearing from someone who owns the pen and has small hands. How does the pen feel? Can you write for long periods without fatigue? Does it seem just too big? Unfortunately, I'm too far from civilization to attend one of the big pen pen shows (and I wasn't able to go to the Dallas show this year). Thanks. Susan

    Decoband Grip Play

I have a red ripple effect decoband and the lower grip section is all black but has a little bit of play in it which I can oftentimes feel as I write with it. It isn't so loose that it comes out, I just think it has either shrunk or loosened with age, but it really is very slight. I was thinking that a small bit of shellac might help to secure it, but I'm also conscious that this may present a bit of a pain if I ever need to replace the sac. Would this be a good solution, or is there another solution that might help that I haven;t thought of?
  6. Managed to make a visit to the SF Pen Show today. Relatively short visit, but very enjoyable.....as always.... Had a very nice chat with our own 'Wahlnut' about the new W-E pens. Also, held and test drove the new W-E Decoband pens..... WOW!!! Talk about serious oversize pens...really gorgeous pens....wish I could get all 4 colors....after some agonizing over selection, I ordered the ebonite rosewood pen with the wild red urushi monster size feed and beautiful nib..... The Wahlnut done good with this one.....I know it's up there, but if you see and hold it, you will realize what a wond
