    Hello From Colorado

My appreciation for writing instruments began in college while taking a calligraphy class some 30-odd years ago. I later began a career as a draftsman (Think T-squares, triangles, rotary erasers, lead holders, pens & mechanical pencils). Over the years I've dabbled in design & sales until landing in a management position. I do travel for my company and before each trip, I research and pen stores/shows within driving distance. It is physically impossible for me to leave a pen shop without buying something.

    Hello From Denver, Colorado

Hello everyone, I recently joined the fountain pen cult community, and have been coming to FPN for information. So, I thought I'd join in, and start interacting! A little bit about me: I have always been into pens and pen colors, looking for the smoothest experience. I have owned every color G2, Sakura, etc. you can think of. Although everything in my work life is digital, I'm still a sucker for the analog style of taking pen to paper. I thought it was time to mature my writing utensils. My journey started with multiple pens from Lamy (Safaris, Al-Stars, and Vistas), a Pilot Metropolitan, and a Noodler's Ahab, as I search for my preferred nib size/feel and ink colors. To me, everything about fountain pens is deliberate and I am thoroughly in love. This is an amazing corner of the inter-webs, with a wealth of information and personality. I can't wait to get more involved. Cheers,FeriociousNPrettyaka Newsha

    Re-Hello From Colorado

Hi folks, um, yeah. I joined in 2014 but....left but now I'm back. The name is Weavrr/Weavercat/Liz. I graduated in 2016 with a BFA in Fine Art (Painting/Printmaking) and a minor in Biology. I started out here as primarily a dip pen, brushpen, and drafting pencil user. Which is awesome. However. A longtime aquaintence of mine recently confessed their love for fountain pens and under their guidance I finally made my first starter pen purchase. I purchased a Lamy Safari-F (because my handwriting is tight and cramped) in that LE color: Petrol Whoops. I think I love this. Well, except for the cartridge it came with. It's nice but it feels too light/bright in a blue (which I figured on so I went and spent a penny on R&K's Alt-Goldgrun and a converter because wow) and yeah. And here I thought my dip-nib addiction was bad, this is going to get me into all sorts of trouble. I feel pretty darncool right now writing up my fishing-notes with a 'fancy' pen. Even more so when I'm writing up notes for my Dungeons & Dragons campaign. BAH, all my old posts are gone. I did a review of the Baron Fig kickstarter 'Confidant 1' back in 2015. I would totally share my writing sample but see, I decided to be a bit profane... but polite. So, no sample of my polite profanity. Instead, a sample of the artwork I make with my brushes and dip-nibs in old-old Higgins Black Magic.

    Colorado Pen Posse

Hello! If you see this in a couple of threads I am simply trying to get the interest out there and see if we can revive (if dead) a Colorado Pen meet-up group! I've recently moved back into fountain pens (and more writing in general; notes in meetings/conferences/etc.) and would love to meet face-to-face with other like-minded folks to talk paper types and sources, inks, pens, and the rest! I live in downtown Denver and am happy to travel along the front range for a good meet-up! Is the Colorado group still active? If not, we should revive it! I own a lot of fancy camera gear too (including macro lens)! Regards, Mike
