  1. Hello everyone, I got a few months ago a Pilot CH 91 with an extra fine nib. I have been using the pilot blue ink in cartridge and I want to know if some of you with this nib EF have the same issues as I have. I understand that extra fine nib will be on a scratchy/ toothy side, I dont know exactly how one would define it. But I think may be something wrong. I guess it has a small sweet spot and outside of it it doesn't write very well. And aside when I write the ascending strokes, loops of the l, f, etc (I write in cursive) the line is barely not visible, not consistent, like skipping. Sorry, I dont have the pen with me right now and I can't provide writing samples. Would it improve with a different ink? Which ink have you used with extra fine nibs, getting good results? Would it improve with a nib work? Something not harmful that I could try? How would you describe your pilot extra fine? Thank you very much for taking the time to read it.
  2. I know there have been many similar topics like this one, but I had to ask myself. I'm planning on buying myself my first gold nib as a Christmas gift to myself. I'm looking at the following pens: Pilot Custom 74 (M) Pilot Custom Heritage 91 (M) Pilot Custom Heritage 92 (M) Platinum 3776 Century (M) As I understand it, Custom 74, CH91 and CH92 all have the same feed and nib. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Are the medium #5 nibs the same width as Metropolitan medium? Is the 3776 medium nib broader or finer than the Pilot medium? Those of you who have tried both the 3776 and any of the Pilots, what are your impressions? Pros, cons? I prefer the design of the CH91 and CH92. I'm not a big fan of the cigar shape, but it's not a deal braker. I know the CH92 is a demonstrator with piston filler, which makes it slightly more expensive than the others. Is it worth the money or is any of the other a better buy? Greatful for all your input.

    Pilot C H 91 Vs Platinum #3776 Century

Hello, I'm looking to buy a pen from Engeika these days, and can't decide on one of these 2...Black Pilot Custom Heritage 91 and Bourgogne Platinum #3776 century, either with a Soft Fine nib. As far as Japanese pens go, right now I only own a Pilot Decimo and a Smoke CH92, both with Medium nibs, and I really like them a lot...the resin on the 92 really feels great, and the nib is beautifully smooth with a bit of give. I've read a lot of complains regarding Platinum's plastic, which some say feels cheap....I want to know if it's fragile/brittle in any way (more than the Pilot plastic)...I really love the Bourgogne color. So what do you say, is it worth getting another Pilot Custom Heritage (since I really like my first), or should I go for the #3776? Thanks!
