Montblanc items is being offered for sale, personally collected by a former Montblanc dealer, who also served as a repair shop for multi-brand pens. The articles belong to a time frame that goes from 1990 to the early 2000s. This is a nice lot in total, consisting of 43 items, including the notebooks and the box with warranty. These are essentially items that the laboratory had accumulated over time. Some items appear as never used, for example the caps for Montblanc 149, springs and other spare parts. Other parts appear to be spare parts replaced under warranty. The notebooks are new. The individual items and storage conditions are detailed below. Kindly please do not ask me for spare parts or anything else. (I apologize for my english) 7x Montblanc small notebooks - Identification code: Note Pad 13915. Dimensions: 10.2x 7.2 x 0.3 cm. 2. I somehow got the way in which nib compatibility works. I have a different question, however, and hopefully someone can provide a reply. Do you know whether the caps from these models are interchangeable ? Any advice would be extremely, extremely helpful ...
  3. Hi, I have a 149 barrel which I believe is from the 70/80's and I want a matching bare cap. I think I may have found one which has the threaded post on the end to take a screw on snow flake top which I happen to have. The present owner of the cap says it's from a Diplomat 149 Meisterstuck. I wouldn't know if my barrel would be designated a Diplomat barrel so what are the chances my barrel and this mans cap would match? Only way to find out is to try it I know. Trouble is it's a long way just for this "fitting". I looked up the Mont Blanc website and there does not appear to be any referenc
  4. Over the years I've noticed that snap on, magnetic seal and push on caps seem to have an inherent problem which is sometimes (possibly mostly) not really concerning but occasionally bothersome. I wanted to know what the experience of others was. Of the push on caps that had an issue that wasn't worrisome I would include the Lamy 2000, Safari and AlStar models, some magnetic seal pens (such as the Netunno) and maybe a few more I can't think of right now. I would say they have a failing, but not a serious one, in that the ink tends to dry out slightly in the nib and feed so that when you start w
  5. The most basic, and probably most asked introductory question you all get is, "What is involved with making your own barrels and caps." I know there are a myriad topics that are included like material desired, time needed, cost, machining and tools, technical ability, etc. The reason I'm asking is because I've recently become the recipient of four vintage (1970's) New Old Stock Cross Townsend Nibs. I can't buy the barrels and caps and don't really want to sell the nibs, but they are otherwise useless. A Moderator suggested I take a look at this forum and I had no idea folks created their own

    Where Are All The Caps?

I've collected a few pre-1900s long eyedropper pens: Model 22s, that sort of thing. And they're capless. Is there some collector in an island fortress somewhere who has all the caps? Maybe this cap-Blofeld can come to the LA Pen Show.
  7. I have some pens without caps. I wasn't hungry it was how they came in the grab bag. But now I'm left with what looks like a decent red transitional Estie and black J Estie without caps. I've looked on EBay but I don't want to buy a whole pen just for the cap; I'd just repair the pen WHICH STILL LEAVES ME IN NEED OF A CAP! (and sounding like a pirate) ARGH!
  8. Hey guys! I'm not sure whether anyone has ever brought this topic up before (if so, I'm sorry). I ordered J. Herbin inks in two batches, both from different retailers, and my local retailer sent me bottles with plastic caps on them whereas the one in the Netherlands sent ones with metal caps (and they had stickers on the back with serial numbers, the ones from my local retailer didn't). So I was wondering whether J. Herbin made this change (a few years back maybe? because I suspect the ones I got locally are old stock). Thank you in advance
