  1. NOODLER'S CANADIAN EXCLUSIVE!!!! First, this is by no means an exhaustive review.. is more an INTRODUCTION to our new CANADIAN EXCLUSIVE!!!!!!! OK.. finally we get our own.. and I do say finally, because although the Noodler's Canadian Exclusive “Blue Upon the Plains of Abraham” was available at one time (years ago).. the ink in itself was not one of Nathans’ best. The ink had serious problems with separating dyes.. and a strong shake will almost reconstitute the ink, but not completely. The best I can say, it was an “interesting” ink. BUT NO MORE!!!!!!!!... The new formulation of “Blue Upon the Plains of Abrahams”.. is just PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is the MOST gorgeous-luscious-dark-wet Blue EVER!!!!!!... I think it can be safely called Blue-Black… I love my Blue-Blacks, and this one is at the top (for now.. ) ALSO….. New to the World of EXCLUSIVE inks.. is “The Raven.. forevermore”… or as we call it Raven Black. I am no a black person.. and don’t care much about blacks… but I can’t object to this very dark-wet-velvety black. And the label… is awesome!!!! Bottle pics Writing samples And for the people who never saw a writing sample of the original formulation… here it is, beside the 2015 edition. No comparison .. right?? Before I forget … the ONLY place you can get this LUCIOUS ink is at our own… WONDERPENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANUCKS!!!!... Don’t walk.. RUN TO GET your own Noodlers Canadian Exlusives !!!!!!!!! C.
  2. Hi everyone, I was wondering what the cheapest site to get ink samples in Canada is. Is it Goulet Pens, where the only downside is the 10$ shipping fee? Are there sites that ship for cheaper or for free even? Thank you all very much in advance!

    Date This Vac?

Hey there! So I just snagged this Parker Vacumatic pen/pencil set. It seems to have an imprint of 'Made in Canada' (I knew when I read that the nib had great flex that this was probably the case) and a Speedline Filler along with a Blue Jewel Clip. Would you guys be so kind as to help me narrow down the year of this thing? I'm pretty sure 1939-1941 but would love to know for sure. Also what do you know about the 'Active Service' deal? Was that program only for active-duty military personnel? How did Parker market that etc.? Also this would lead me to think 1940/1941. I've included the photos that I have and I should have it in my grubby hands later this week...
  4. Howdy fellow writers, With the plethora of foreign-made papers available for fountain pen use it occured to me to seek out a Canadian brand of paper worthy of use. I've become aware of the Shinola Detroit brand which I will be investigating further but I cannot find a brand from my own country. The Hilroy brand comes to mind but that's for ham-fisted school children and is quite coarse. Can anyone recommend a brand of paper, preferably notebook inserts, that is produced by a Canadian company? My best, Jen
  5. I just recently bought a Canadian Sheaffer with the following description on it. W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co Malton, Ontario. It is a lever pen so I assume it's a balance, but I'm a bit confused about the white dot because it's at the end of the clip. Or so it seems because the white dot has been pretty much scraped off from wear. I want to know more about this pen if anybody has any information on it like when it's made. My guess is that it was made in the 1950's since it's a lever pen and since Malton Ontario started producing pens around that time. I also forgot to mention that it's got a Fineline Made in Canada 14k 585 Nib. Please let me know if anyone can give me more information. Thanks a bunch!!!
