    Recommendation for resistence

From a new buyer, Can you help me find a pen? So Christmas is coming. Kinda. And then my birthday. Some months later. And I am looking for something resistant to be carried around and (unfortunately) occasionally sometimes fall from the desk, light (I really like a light pen), with a small point (I like the size M I have been using) (are measures uniform around companies?) and the two most important aspects: cheap and rechargeable, instead of cartridges. To compare with what I have been using for the last 3 years: Mostly use the cheapest plastic Parker fountain pen available(Jotter fountain pen), slightly cracked on the side, https://www.parkerpen.com/collections/essential/jotter/jotter-fountain-pen/SAP_2030947.html, https://www.worten.pt/produtos/caneta-de-aparo-parker-jotter-originals-tinta-preta-azul-mrkean-3026980964306?gclid=CjwKCAjwgsqoBhBNEiwAwe5w0ynTjEQUsu4jkmZa4LxeM1uPHLGBfatO--PJsEYRWwFX7oCW14zMRxoCbMYQAvD_BwE. No complains, I like how light and small it is and the size of the point (size M). Although I'd rather if it was slightly longer, my fingers are big. Occasionally, I use a (I think it is) knockoff pen that someone gave me. Bigger point, always discompensating on the nib and not being usable with temperature and pressure differences (even slight ones). Thanks in advance for all the help!
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm thinking about getting my first Indian ebonite pen and the Gama Eyas seems perfect for me. The only problem is that I want the glossy finish instead of the matte black. AsaPens only has the latter, so where online can I order the glossy version? Thanks for any suggestions!
  3. I'd like to buy a Ranga pen form an official source, that is directly form the manufacturer if that's possible. Apart from the occasional group buys that appear on FPN and managed by Ranga people, I noticed that there's the website: rangapens.com. Given that I don't want to be limited by the options offered in the group buys, I would like to order a pen based on my personal preferences and specifications and I was thinking of doing that through the aforementioned website. Now, my questions are: 1. Is that Ranga's official website? 2. Has anyone bought pens from that website and, if so, how was your experience? 3. Are the shipping costs included in the price? Because there's a widget there on the website to estimate those costs, but it seems it doesn't do anything... Thanks.

  5. A few years ago, I bought a pen very similar to these pens (almost identical to the first one, but it had one color bubble, not three): - https://www.amazon.de/Wedo-256126-Vierfarb-Kugelschreiber-Sichtwahl-Druckmechanik-auswechselbaren/dp/B002K8X43K/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1500814383&sr=8-13&keywords=vierfarbkugelschreiber - http://www.ebay.de/itm/PELIKAN-4-1-Vierfarb-Kugelschreiber-4-Color-Ballpoint-Red-Chrome-1972-VINTAGE-/272734985022?hash=item3f80459b3e:g:MPgAAOSw4CFYnE46&autorefresh=true At a flea market. I LOVED it and used it every day... until it was stolen off my desk. I have been searching for it ever since, and only recently had the bright idea of asking my family for help. They searched for it in german terms (bought it at a german flea market with german family members) and my uncle found the above results. I can't seem to purchase it on Amazon, as it says it's out of stock and the last purchase was in 2016, and I can't even find it for sale anywhere else. To me it's really special because it's not one of those slider-pens, but instead uses gravity to choose the color it sends out. I've had bad experiences with the slider type getting stuck all the time. As I am still in school, I take a LOT of notes and like to color code for clarity, and I loved having this type of pen, and really miss it. Does anyone know what it is called? Or how I could possibly find it and buy it somewhere? Or even maybe have one they're willing to sell? I am rather poor but I'd like to at least give it a try. Thank you and I hope I didn't do anything wrong! This is my first post here, though I've read posts here for a while.
  6. I am a very new collector and interested in Chinese and Japanese pens but at the moment wanting to learn as much as I can about pens and Hero pens in particular. So two questions; (1) Any recommendations for good information sites, (other than this network) for Chinese and Japanese pens? (2) What online dealers would people recommend as reliable? Cheers, Andrew-Bede

    Omas Ef Extra Flessibile

Hello, I've been looking to buy any Omas pen with a 14k extra fine extra flessible nib to practice my spencerian and copperplate with. I would prefer an ogiva pen, but at this point I dont really mind what model it is. Would anyone be willing to sell or direct me to one? Thanks in advance.
  8. Fellow Australians (and co-interested citizens of the world), In the short time that I have returned to the fountain pen game, it has become abundantly clear that we Australians are at a particular disadvantage when it comes to sourcing fountain pens, inks and supplies at a reasonable price which we can all afford (particularly considering the current value of the Australian dollar against the US dollar). As such, I have decided it would be useful for those who, like myself, are having difficulties in this regard to have a list of suppliers we can go to. It's particularly hard to source waterproof and premium inks at a good price. Depending on the brand however, this may or may not be a problem. For instance if your after Jinhao's the cheapest option is generally eBay, although the shipping takes a long time from China. Our brethren in the People's Republic really must do something about their postal services. Anyway, if you're after pens from brands like: - Twsbi; - Pilot; - Platinum; - Kaweco; - Moteverde; - Pelikan; - Blackstone; - Lamy; and so on and so forth Or inks from brands like: - Diamine; - J. Herbin; - Faber Castell; - Pelikan; - Pilot; - Waterman; - Rober Oster Signature; - Blackstone; - Platinum; - Caran D'Ache; - Lamy; and so on and so forth Then the following suppliers will be of assistance to you. These are in no particular order, but websites are first, followed by eBay sellers. Websites A special mention to user Drone for introducing me to the Singapore based sites, and my thanks once again for their assistance. 1. www.overjoyed.com.sg These guys are brilliant, firstly because they display all their prices in Australian dollars automatically (or in your local currency, wherever you live), and secondly because shipping is generally free and only takes about 1 week. They supply popular pen brands like those mentioned above, as well as ink, notepads and other supplies. Certainly for inks like Diamine and pens like Twsbi and Pelikan, their prices are the best I have come across so far as an Australian buyer. Same goes for Pilot Iroshijuko inks. Fountain Pen Inks: http://www.overjoyed.com.sg/lifestyle/fine-writing/ink.html?p=1 Fountain Pens: http://www.overjoyed.com.sg/lifestyle/fine-writing/fountain-pen.html 2. aws.straitspen.com/shop These guys supply fountain pens and inks as well, but have a more limited range than the above site, in addition to other products. Prices are very good but they seem to generally charge for shipping. For instance when I inquired about shipping for the Twsbi Vac 700, I was told it would be about $17 AUD. However, they do generally charge Australian customers in Singapore dollars, which are roughly the same value as Australian dollars, so this is a big advantage. I imagine the shipping is not so bad if you order multiple items. 3. justwrite.com.au So here's a local site which sells pens, inks (such as Blackstone) and TUNING SUPPLIES! You can get a complete kit for around $18.00 delivered here: http://justwrite.com.au/Fountain-Pen-Tuning-Kit. Disclaimer that using those products to tune your pens voids warranty and should only be done if you know what you're doing. I am not responsible for any damaged pens or voided warranties and neither are they! Prices are generally good, for instance a complete set of Blackstone's colours of Australia will set you back only around $35 AUD (5 x 30ml bottles) which is great value. They also sell a wide range of fountain pens, including Blackstone, and they carry both economy and premium brands at a decent price. eBay Sellers 1. osteralia Sells the full range of Robert Oster Signature inks at a great price (less than $10 AUD for 50ml bottles). Highly recommend this seller, as they are highly communicative and respond quickly to inquiries and suggestions. Also sells a lot of other FP related products. http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/osteralia?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 2. engeika Great price for Platinum waterproof inks, such as their Carbon or Pigment ranges. Best price I have found as an Australian buyer. Reasonably quick shipping from Japan and pleasant to deal with. http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/engeika?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 Conclusion So that, dear readers, seems a good start but please do add your own sources! Many thanks. Cheers!

    Visconti In Canada

Anybody know of a place to buy Visconti pens in Canada? I'm in the market for one and I am starting to do research on on the models and pricing. Amazon.ca is pretty pricy (I know Visconti is pricy but Amazon doesn't have any good deals for this brand) Thanks friends!
  12. Hey guys, Does anyone know where I can pick up a Lamy 2000 (for less than $200) in Canada? I live in the Greater Toronto Area and shipping/customs/exchange rate coming in from the US is expensive. I've seen some retailers charge $200+ for a Lamy 2000 and that is out of my price range right now but I am dying to get my hands on one. Any suggestions?
  13. Yes, I am aware I can use Google, however I would like to hear opinions and reviews from people who possibly have visited and experienced places firsthand. I have a friend who lives in Paris and I am going to be sending her a small fountain pen kit. If the addiction kicks in, I'm sure she would love to visit the local stationary stores to get supplied. Besides, she is going to need a syringe to refill her cartridges, and I don't think customs would look too kindly on me sending one overseas... Are there any recommendations people could give?

    Nibs, Clips, Etc.

Hello! Is there a section of the forum where people offer spare parts of pens like extra nibs, clips, etc. and where we can post our request to the other members of the community?
  15. My first post woo I was if you could help me decide between an extra fine Kaweco and fine Pilot metro as an everyday carry pen. I will mainly be using it in university and hospital writing on crappy paper and just wondering what your opinions are of these two pens.... and if you have ever had one of these in your pocket whilst wearing lead gowns or had to clean blood/contrast media of them Thanks for all the help

I'm new to FPN, but I'm a pretty experienced fountain pen user. I have many Parker pens, but I'm thinking of buying a Waterman also. Any recommendations? Thanks.

    Pelikan M200 Demosntrator

Hello. This is a thread for people who are extremely bored. I want to buy a Demonstrator M200, but I'd like someone(s) to help me find the lowest possible price on the planet. Used is fine. Also, does anyone have any experience with this pen? How does it write? Thanks a lot!
  18. 2nd Post! Again, not sure if its in the right section so apologies, but over time ill learn:) Just wondering, I've been after a Montblanc Noblesse, one of the vintage ones, ( think they are also known as Slimline's or Quickpens, for a while now, but everywhere i seem to look they are costing over £100. Speaking to someone today and they told me they should be relatively cheap to pick up, but I'm yet to find one of sub £100. Anyone have any suggestions on where i can get one? Thanks. Tom
