  1. Hi, just thought id share my selection of Stephens (1932) & Parker victory (1935-46) English made (discounting the first 5 years made in canada). when you look at the the period in general a lot of the the other makers were concentrating on lever fillers. would be nice to see what else is made during the period in button filler. regards Rick
  2. Hey all! Hope everyone is having a good day! So today, I finally managed to get my first ever vintage fountain pen working! The pen is a No. 49 from the English company Burnham. Here's what I have to say about so far: http://i63.tinypic.com/2wog7c5.jpg So far the pen is a dream to write with, and I hope it stays that way. Since this is my first repair I know I've made a fair few mistakes Thanks! Edit: Quick correct from the written text, thanks to u/peterg I've realised that Burnham were trading into the 1960s!
  3. I just wonder if Burnham had ever produced fountain pen with unmarked (no words) barrel? Anybody seen any? Many thanks.
  4. I'm looking for a cap for my fountain pen Burnham. Can you help me?

    London Calling

Hi. I'm Paul from the London/Kent borders in the UK. My FP interest was rekindled when we visited my parents and were presented with a batch of vintage pens, including my father's Parker Victory IV and my old school pen, a Parker 51. My intention is to research, refurbish (ha!).and collect. I've bought about 20 pens in the past 2 months including Conway Stewarts, Wyverns and Burnhams (a London company) as well as Parker, Esterbrook and a few third tier US pens. Although I've been reflushing, disassembling, cleaning and lightly polishing the pens, I've yet to embark on a resaccing. Please wish me luck. I'd forgotten all about ink-stained fingers... until now! Best. Paul

    Burnham?

Hi. I'd be grateful for advice, please. I have several Burnham B48s/51s and have just purchased what was advertised as a Burnham pen. It's flanked by the 2 dips in the link. I was convinced that it isn't a Burnham - it looks to streamlined for a pen made by a company that closed in 1965 - but it was cheap and I was willing to take a chance. The nib reads Burnham 14ct and Non Corrosive is imprinted on the barrel. I was really after the nib. Any views on whether the pen is a Burnham would be appreciated, please. Best. Paul Is this a Burnham.doc
  7. Hi, I'm Bryan from NH. I grew up in England and my school would not allow us to use ballpoints becuse they affected the character of one's handwriting.I've been a regular FP user for about 55 years. I still have two Shaeffer's I recieved as gifts for my barmitzvah, and that was 50 years ago! I didn't know any one actually collected fountain pens until a few weeks ago when I found my touchdown wouldn't fill. I went on line and discoverd this network which has led me to bid on a number of pens on Ebay. (I now have a bunch of Wearevers for practice repair) I bought a touchdown repair kit and that pen is now working again. My collection, if you can call it that, includes Lamy Safari, Rotring Core, 2 Shaeffers, Esterbrook, Montblanc Classic (what a leaker!), several Wearever bits and pieces, 2 osmiroids, 2 Serwex, a Hero 616 (I love cheap pens!). I just picked up a Jinhao X750, its a heavy bugger! I like broad nibs, especially stub italics. I'd love to get my hands on a Burnham, It is the pen I used all through school. I'm looking forward to the New England Pen show.
