  1. The company I work for is very dedicated to being a responsible steward of our environment, from rain-water capture and living roofs to providing pens made with barrels from post-consumer recycled paper. Normally the choice for the paper used in our copiers and notebooks has not been fountain pen friendly, though (not surprisingly). Yesterday, however, at a client meeting, we provided clients with 6x9 inch notebooks made of lined ivory 100% recycled paper that stood up to my fountain pens impressively well. I was writing with a 0.9mm cursive italic nib using Pilot/Namiki blue ink and experienced no feathering, spread, bleedthrough or even showthrough. When I got home, I tested the paper with a few other pens and, apart from when I was using a very wet flex-nibbed pen, the paper did a great job. The flex-nib writing had some mild-moderate feathering and showthrough with a touch of bleedthrough in places. Still acceptable if one were to write on only one side. I tend not to use flex-nibbed pens at work, so for an "office notebook" this is perfectly acceptable for my purposes. The notebooks are made in Canada by Spector & Co . The notebooks looked like these ECO notebooks with the black spiral binding, but instead of the 90% recycled paper, the paper seems to be more like that used in these ECO single meeting notebooks. Our corporate logo was printed simply in black on a blue card-stock cover. Depending on the notebook style, the minimum quantity is 75-150 pieces, so if you are looking for a corporate or bulk-order item, this may be an option to consider. I noticed that they have a button to request samples if you are interested. I am not affiliated in any way with Spector & Co.
  2. Where can I buy a case of Tomoe River paper? I don't mind importing from Japan!
  3. I've been reading this book called Accidental Genius about creating ideas. The core method it talks about is writing a LOT. Sometimes quite aimlessly. So, I'm excited to start doing this. The only problem is, I'm not too keen on just burning through loads of Rhodia dotpads or any of my other expensive notebooks. Does anyone have a recommendation for a notebook that works well with fountain pens that is cheap enough to order in bulk? Also, it's not critical, but it would be nice if it could lay flat. Thanks in advance! Jordan
  4. Just received the Christmas catalogue from our friends at Stone Marketing, and they are, among other things, offering 3 display sets of the complete 12 bottle range of Caran d'Ache Chromatics inks for £371.25. That is less than £10.32 per bottle, compared with £27.50 normally, and the displays for free. Not sure about shipping costs. PM me if you are interested in a set from a group buy and can meet up in London, St Albans, or Luton to pick it up (since I don't want to organize shipping) or set up your own group. Or just buy 36 bottles for yourself and as Christmas presents. You know you want it!
  5. Hello. I have been running a pen store on eBay and have been wanting to get my chinese pens directly from the companies or a licensed distributer, Has anyone done this? Thanks Pace
