  1. Here's my review of the new version of J. Herbin Bleu Ocean 1670 that contains the long awaited gold pigment. As far as appearances go, the new version looks worlds better just with the inclusion of the gold, but it's still nowhere near as well behaved as Rouge Hematite. But it's definitely worth the money just based on its uniqueness! Here's my review of the original Bleu Ocean 1670 formula (please scroll all the way down for a more recent scan as the old scan has a horrible magenta color cast and isn't accurate), here's my review of the related Stormy Grey 1670, and here's my review of Rou
  2. Hi people, I received my three bottles of Herbin Chivor ink from the Massdrop, yesterday. First of all, the packaging was superb! This is how it came: -Longer box, approx 8 x 8 x 16 in -Extra large bubble rap, doubled up -Each bottle wrapped in multiple layers of smaller bubble wrap -Each bottle already comes shrink-wrapped Great drop; keep your eye out for the next one as over 200 have requested it!. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/j-herbin-1670-ink?referer=WY4GXL
  3. I love inks that are wet and easy to clean, so I’ve accumulated more than half of the Herbin line. And, blue is the color I use most often in my daily writers, so I thought it would be fun to do a comparison of the Herbin blues: Bleu Nuit, 1670 Bleu Ocean, Bleu Pervenche, Bleu Azur, Bleu Myosotis and Eclat de Saphir. I use all of them regularly with the exception of Bleu Azur (which I ordered a sample of to add to this comparison). The comparison was done using a Pelikan 400NN F nib on Rhodia. Ink Swabs: Ink on Paper Towel: Top Row: Bleu Nuit, 1670 Bleu Ocean, Eclat de Saphir Bo

    J. Herbin 1670 Bleu Ocean

I haven't seen a lot of reviews of this color. Not since it came out and everyone was really disappointed that it didn't have silver sheen analogous to Rouge Hematite's gold. Since I use this ink and really like the flow and color, I figured I'd add my two cents. Cent One: Nope, this ink doesn't have a silver sheen. It doesn't have crazy properties like indestructibility or neon fluorescence or x-ray vision. Cent Two: This is a good ink. The flow is really good. Yes, there are other inks with good flow also, and even some that are cheaper. But I like this ink. It feels really smooth
