I dropped my pilot CH91 and the barrel developed a crack. original thread here: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/330322-pilot-custom-heritage-91-barrel-crackedfix/ well before I tried anything stupid, I took a closer look at the barrel and saw there were 4 more cracks! I was heartbroken and tried to contact pilot India but they said since the case was accidental they couldn't cover it and also the 1 year period was over. So with nothing to lose, I turned back to super glue and SOMEHOW managed to stick it back(all the 5 cracks). but the end result was not so good looking and also the barrel end was a bit bulged for some reason now( superglue drying expansion probably?) and won't post fully (i don't post so np there) and also looks bad.So I'm looking for a pen to transplant my 14k nib to, which is not expensive.Do metropolitans take a #5 nib? TL; DR: dropped pen, barrel cracked, fixed crack. looks bad, doesn't post, looking for a pen to transplant nib too. P.S I'm also considering getting a parker sonnet with a steel nib in fine.( To replace my 91). which way should I go? P.P.S As I finished typing this and reached for my cup of tea, knocked over the pen, fell again and the cap on the end of the barrel popped off again *sigh* lol here is a pic how it looks. Don't ask me why it's kinda greenish, I don't have an answer.

I have this Eversharp I think from the 50s. It has a barrel thread crack. It looks like a pretty new crack in that it fits together perfectly, no shrinkage. Chances are I did this trying to remove the section, yes I did use heat, maybe not enough. Or I dropped the barrel on the floor. So I've done the searching and reading about barrel cracks and crack repair, the dangers of MEK and acetone, etc etc. Until I'm sick of reading about crack repair. But being a fresh new crack I assume it might be easier to fix right now than wait. I've read about the use of Testors 3502 as a crack repair item, and that's probably as far as I'm willing to try. Is this workable for this kind of plastic? Or should I just send the pen out? It does't seem like that valuable of a pen, I got it basically for free in an ebay lot I got for $10.99 that had an Estie I wanted. Also any idea what the white waxy-like substance is on the pen? It's around the clip, and in spots on the cap, even on some of the barrel threads. A little bit on the barrel. The white line on the section is a cat hair… The crack only looks displaced when the section is inserted. When the section isn't in place the crack is invisible.
