What is this lamy al star called?

Hello there, Could someone please help me identify which lamy al star model this is. There's very similar ones knocking around i.e. turmaline pacific and blue green. If you could help by looking at the pictures it would be much appreciated. Also if it is any particular special edition that is in high demand/price. I picked it up off ebay, 2nd hand (only some minor scratches - typical for an al star), for just under £13 with 2.50 p&p ( it was only listed as al star) . I now have a very small al star collection- lamy al star bronze 2019 special and this unknown. 1st pic is in natural light, 2nd with flash... All the lamys look different in various light levels/conditions.

    Counterfeit Lamy?

About a year ago, I bought a Lamy Safari off of Amazon. It was the only second pen I ever bought, so I didn't realize that Amazon is notorious for selling fake pens. I wrote with it pretty regularly, had no problems, but on a whim I checked the same Amazon page that I purchased from. The seller was LAMY, but over half of the reviews complained that they were sent fakes. That got me worried that mine was counterfeit, too. Looking at all the known indicators, my pens seems to pass the rest, but my worry comes when I compare it to my AL Star. I know they are different in width, but is the Safari supposed to be taller than the AL Star? Another thing I found, the body of the AL Star takes three turns to close, and the Safari 3.5. Is this normal among all authentic LAMY pens?

    Beginner Question

Hello everyone, I have just started my interest in fountain pens, and just joined this network. On my post in the Introduction forum, I was advised to buy a Lamy Safari as a good starter pen. However, upon looking, it seems like the Lamy Al-Star is better. Is there really any difference in quality? Thanks
  4. Liberty's Elysium is my second favorite blue (Kon-Peki is first) but it dries so fast on many nibs. I am thinking of buying an Al-Star to keep said ink in all the time for every day use. Does the Al-Star and this ink combo cause quick nib drying? or does it stay fairly wet?

Nib Creep On Lamy Al Star

HI, I'm thinking of buying a Lamy Black Al star with a black nib and using it for school. Nib creep really irritates me, but my favorite ink- noodlers black is very prone to this. Anyone who has then pen and ink, can you tell me if the nib creep- if there is any- is noticeable on the black nib? Thanks
  6. All in the title, but a few more details. Tight on budget, but I do want a pen and a 580 is around the ballpark on the maximum I want to spend this moment. I've seen some glowing reviews for the 580 and the Al Star, so I really can't decide myself. I'm leaning more to the Al Star but the major factor is smoothness. I've had a Safari and I know the nib was smooth, but can the 580 bring something different and enjoyable too? Edit: Nib preference would F or M. Also the writing angle would be a bit low, but pretty sure both pens are lax on the angle.
