Hi, I recently purchased one 90 years Meisterstuck 145 on ebay at price $650, nib B. I used to write with 145 a lot since I have small hands and I cannot handle any larger size fountain pens. So to my understanding to this familiar series, everything is fine and it should be a genuine one. However, as the following pictures can show that, the lower ring of the cap has a missing part, as you can see in the last picture, or I can say it is partially damaged. I am just really curious whether that totally disproves that it is genuine? Is this really rare to find? Please help! By the way, I also want to ask everyone whether you can endure such damage on this fountain pen.

Hello everyone, I have a MB145, and there's ink that got behind the rubber seal of cartridge converter, also some stuck between the rubber seal Does anyone know how to deal with this situation? Thanks

Simple question: Do the Edelstein ink-cartridges fit in the Montblanc Meisterstück 145 pen? I tried with short Pelikan 4001 cartrdiges I had lying around, and 2 of those back to back fit without problem. (those Edelstein cartridges come in those nice little tins. Morning All, Just a quick comparison of the two fountain pens I use for work on a daily basis. Two similarly sized pens, both from quite different price points. The Pelikan M200 Cafe Creme and the Montblanc Hommage a Frederic Chopin: Although both write very smoothly, but you can feel the difference in the Montblanc; partly in its extra smoothness and definitely in its extra weight. It is the better finished of the two, with nice touches like metal threads when you separate the pen's body. They both start instantly, and only suffer the occasional an small skip if I'm writing very quicky. The Pelikan is the smoother reverse writer. I like fine nibs for the amount of writing I do (+/- 20 pages a day during meetings), but of course there is less line variation available from these. The Montblanc Royal Blue ink is a lovely classic blue colour which flows well. The Cult Pens Deep Dark Orange is very deep, almost red, and great for highlighting points or writing stand-out notes and points. Being similarly sized they are a great pair to use together as it's easy to swap between them when I need to change colour. The 145 gets the most use, and if filled in the morning it gets me through the day just fine. Hope that was of interest. Thanks for reading.

So my first Pelikan is on its way to me, an M200 Café Crème. I want a pen to use with orange ink to highlight key points from the copious notes I make every day and to mark up documents with notes and amendments. It is about the same size as the Montblanc Meisterstück Hommage à Frédéric Chopin I use most of the time, so switching would be easy enough. What's more, I just love the design and colouring of this pen. Very much looking forward to it arriving and putting it to use. As something else to look forward to, I think my wife will be getting me a lovely blue M800 for my birthday in a few months!

I have just bought both a 144 classique fountain pen pop cap (engraved) and 145 classique/chopin? fountain pen(broken clip) and would like advice on removing the logo to swap cap barrel on 144 and put a new clip on 145. My wife has a 163 classique rollerball and the logo just unscrews quite easily, whereas my 162 legrand rollerball doesn't. Any advice for a newbie addict gratefully received!!!! Thanks :-)

I'm going to see a MB -that I think is a 145- that being sold for close to $200. I've been trying to compare the image provided by the seller with others than I"ve seen on several websites including this, but they're few and far between. I notice on the photo that the tines are far wider than the plastic feeder on the image but all pictures that I've seen of the 146 and 149 undersides align perfectly. Any idea as to why is this? Could this be a fake pen? The owner is offering the pen with its original box, what should I look for in the box for an original item? What kind of papers do I expect to find? I dropped the cap on a metal edge and broke the barrel. How can I repair it and how much would it cost? Thanks a lot.
