    Is this a Pelikan?

    The seller doesn't give any details on the description other than it is a Pelikan (?) and the photos are not really helpfull. I believe that the cap and the nib/feed are indeed by Pelikan. But the main body with the long striped ink window in combination with the cap and the exposed nib make me have my reservations. At least it's not a model that I am aware of

    I went looking for new ink to try, and came across several new (at least to me) versions from Private Reserve, who are reportedly under new ownership. One is the "FAST DRY group. I bought one bottle of "American Blue" to try out. WOW. It is gorgeous - the best rich blue I have used yet. And given that it does run liberally, it is a good thing it actually does dry quickly on paper. I have only been using since yesterday (in a Pelikan 805 and a "new" Parker 51), but so far I see no indication it will clog. They also have a new "Extended Cap Off" version for dolts who don't recap their pens for protracted periods while their minds wander off. I have not tried that one, and do not plan to abuse my pens in that manner.
