    Lamy Lady Review

I recently purchased the Lamy Lady, and I wanted to share my findings. I was really surprised by this pen; it stands out in many ways when compared to the other Lamy pens. I made a video if you'd like to watch that: https://youtu.be/N08pnEXZqgU First off; this pen has long been discontinued and may be a challenge to find. I was lucky to find the pen brand-new on ebay sold by an Austrian gentleman. This pen is unique in many ways, but not in its tubular shape. This pen is basically a cylinder, but a cylinder composed of a marriage of aluminum and ceramic that I personally find attractive. Both ends of the pen are fairly simple, but I think that gives this pen a clean look. Probably the most obvious aspect of this pen that stands out is that the barrel is made of ceramic. There are different ceramic patterns, but mine is a blue/grey/white candy-cane style swirl. It doesn't have the same amount of 'cow bell' (see the other designs) as the other designs, but I prefer this touch of color. The ceramic is very smooth and glossy, and I expect, based on my limited analysis, that it is not prone to cracking and scratching. The next major unique design point of this pen is that it doesn't have a clip; a Lamy without a clip!? Yep. Instead, Lamy uses two spherical bumper 'stops', one on the cap, and the other on the tail end of the barrel. This pen does not allow posting of the cap, and therefore it is necessary for both parts of the pen to have this device to prevent rolling. Finally, the Lamy Lady has a completely unique nib design. The nib wraps around the feed and is a solid platinum-colored gold nib. It is pretty stiff, but writes like a warm knife over a surface of butter.

    Hello From France

Hi, I'm John Sparegrave from France. I've been using notebooks and pens of various format for years now. I use my notebooks and leather notebooks to organise my life, follow my health issues, write and sketch and I just love the feel of pen on paper. I recently started a channel on Youtube (which is here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCodLxM-o4WuzqrEUQAyh2zw ) and plan on writing a blog which is all about writing and writing materials. I've been reading you guys for quite some time now, and it just felt natural to join. Best regards, John

  7. I have just seen the review of the Rotring Surf pen on Youtube. It looks like a basic pen, with a smooth nib. Does anyone have this pen? If yes, then how cool is it? Here, have a look at the full review first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEM_gAsrMm4
  8. If you haven't seen this, prepare to enjoy a brilliant send-up of every fountain pen review video on YouTube. Full of nice touches, such as using the back of a bank statement envelope instead of Rhodia or Tomoe River.
