  3. #thetimeflowsquietlythelifemakesapoem Hello everyone! Just joined FPN a couple of days ago! Thought I might write about something and commune with the pen community! Few months ago, I started a personal hashtag (#thelifemakesapoem) in Instagram INSPIRED BY A NOTEBOOK COVER "Time Flows Quietly,The Life Makes a Poem". Bought in Mr.DIY, a convenient store in Malaysia Its a project where I adapted some of my friends or well established authors or key person in history; quotes, poetry, poems, prose and sometimes videogames' character creed; and write them into my notebook. Credits to the author of course! The reason I do this is because; First. To hone my craft and skill with a fountain pen. Second. It promotes bilingual culture through the beauty of language. Third. To share common interests and hobbies with old and new friends. Last but not least, fourth. To take part in the dazzling action of writing community of the world especially those who are zealous for fountain pens! I am a newbie here and I saw the creative expressions forum and saw lots of amazing threads. Although, to be honest I haven't read a lot about them since I've limited time in my schedules. I hope to share something with you fine folks here in FPN and hopefully to share lots of creative ideas and reasons to write! Don't forget to check my ig @justhaikal Stay creative and Write on!

Hello again friends My collection is getting larger So as a new collector I have Pavarotti FP M 149 FP EF Collodi FP B Shaw FP M Schiller FP M Starwalker FP So I made a list of pens I want to get to round it out and was thinking if you could just tell me which ones you believe are the most desirable. I am not trying to make profit but I can not collect all so at least want to have the main ones. I know this might sound stupid but I guess I want pens that will still be desirable like hemingway or proust. Pens I would like to own: Julius 888- ( NOO WAYYY ) Gaius 4810 Peter 4810 Catherine 4810 Octavian Poe Verne Einstein Leonardo Nikolai and the nice Lapis lazuli Now which ones would you think are most desirable from the WE and Poa Whether I would be better off buying a Great Character or precious stone solitaire I could probably buy one patron in the next month so have to choose

    Is It Fake? S.fitzgerald

Hi, everyone. I'm finding a WE Fitzgerald and I'd found this one on eBay. But I think it's one of fakes. I never seen the serial numbers like this yellow and just printed. Isn't it?
  6. Hello. I would like to start sharing the writing place of Mrs. Virginia Woolf and some of her writings. http://revistacult.uol.com.br/home/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/VW-1936.jpg It seems that she writes with an OB nib. Does anyone know about her fountain pens? http://www.smith.edu/libraries/libs/rarebook/exhibitions/images/penandpress/large/6c_woolf_als_13feb1921_p1.jpg This is from her writings when she used to study italian language... http://www.smith.edu/libraries/libs/rarebook/exhibitions/images/penandpress/large/4c_italian_notebook.jpg http://www.smith.edu/libraries/libs/rarebook/exhibitions/images/penandpress/large/9a_anna_karenina.jpg http://www.smith.edu/libraries/libs/rarebook/exhibitions/images/penandpress/large/15b_fry_notes_9.jpg Important webpage about her manuscripts: http://www.woolfonline.com/timepasses/?q=image/tid/8 Her writing desk... with nice views to the garden... It seems a very relaxing place... Her bedroom: What an amazing bedroom !! I suggest you to bring to this thread all the info that you have about any writer and his/her fountain pens, writings, etc... Thanks a lot !!!
  7. The University of Reading (UK) displayed Samuel Beckett's drafts for his novel Murphy and ephemeral papers from some of his theatre productions. The manuscript on display consisted of six notebooks of approximately A5 size (they were slightly smaller). On the right hand side he had written his script which consisted of single spaced text in blue fountain pen ink (looked like Parker's Quink, but it is 86 years old). He had crossed out and edited the text in black ink. It looked like a broad/thick medium nib. On the left hand page, he hadn't continued with the draft, but put doodles of golfers, cavalry men and notes. The curator told us that some of these ideas appeared in later works - so it seems that the left side was a "scratch pad" and the right hand side was his work space. On the left hand side he had the question, "What is my life, but the preference for the ginger nut biscuit?" There was also a notebook of stage directions for a production of his play and a model theatre with dolls - a mock up of John Snow's English production of Godot. The stage looks very similar to the set of productions today.
  8. Here's another pretty new ink from Organics Studio's Writer's Series. It's a dark, earthy green color. Looks good for serious writing, or a sepia sort of color. Good flow, some water resistance. This is different from my other greens right now. I imagine Noodler's Sequoia or Zhivago, or Private Reserve Avocado is in the ballpark. I have still to try this on cream colored paper, but I think it'd be really nice
  9. Now this is an Edgar Allan Poe ink! (Take notes De Atramentis!) In my opinion, this one's probably the best of the writer's series. This is a great red ink. It's not waterproof. But again, could probably handle a few splashes. And really nice flow. It's got great shading, from bright true red to a deep red. It's a rich color with depth. It doesn't look like just a standard everyday red. This isn't a color that only works for marking up corrections on paper. You could probably use this for normal writing, especially if you're into writing horror stories. Or ransom notes.
  10. Here's another really nice Organics Studio ink that I liked. L Frank Baum Emerald. It's a good green. The flow of the ink is really nice and feels like a more expensive ink. I tend to like green as a color, especially middle green inks. But I thought this a good example of the color. It's not waterproof, not even really resistant. As noted, it held up about as well to water as the wicked witch. I wouldn't use this for taking notes in the rain, or near any pigtailed girls with little dogs and random buckets of water. Basically good color, good flow, keep away from water, and don't feed after midnight. Edit: fixing pictures
