  1. I came across a “Worth” gold plated pen. I thought maybe it was a Woolworth store pen. Has anyone else run into a Worth pen? thanks
  2. Hi everyone, I am currently considering buying the Karas Kustoms Ink fountain pen. I am having trouble deciding on a nib material. I want a very rugged pen that I will be able to carry around without fear of breaking and so I also want a nib that will stand the test of time, i.e. resist to corrosion, not bend beyond repair too easily (although I am not much of a flex writer, I don't enjoy a stiff nib either) and generally be easy to maintain. The gold nib is out for me though just because I feel like it really doesn't fit wit the rest of the pen's design although if they ever came out with gold furniture gold would certainly be my main option. Or maybe you will convince me to pick gold despite the clip being silver coloured. I was wondering if I should just go with stainless steel or take a risk with titanium (even though Richard Binder seems to really strongly recommend against using titanium)? Thank you all very much in advance! Edited from the post I originally made. I must have a dreamt that they were offering platinum nibs...
  3. Hello everyone, I have been liking my fountain pens for quite some time now and want to get my first "really expensive" pen. I am interested mostly in some pens from Cartier, Chopard and Montblanc. You get an idea about the price range. I have read many things about Montblanc pens already, but I find it hard to find much information about Cartier and Chopard pens. What is the general consensus about them, are they good writers, are they very overpriced and rather comparable to lower end pens, or maybe something entirely different? Keep in mind that I will not be able to try these pens before I buy them, I have to "blind buy" them online most likely. Pens that caught my eye were: Chopard Racer Montblanc Rouge et Noir (the new one) Cartier Roadster and some from the MB great characters. Thanks in advance!

    Limited Edition Parker?

I have recently found a fountain Parker pen my dad gave me years ago. I decided today I wanted to know what model my pen was and a little bit about it or if there is any history. Since searching the Internet the closest thing I can find is a limited edition blue marble centennial pen however I wondered if anyone could help identify the pen and conferm my guess or not. I have two of the pens both are fountain and have screw caps. I would also like to know why one of the nibs has become discoloured and if there is anything I can do. Thank you and any advise is much appreciated
  5. In the (not so) distant future (3 years), I plan on buying an Edison pen for myself as a graduation gift and I want to know if it is really worth it. I see on this forum "ERMAHGERD EDISON PEN, SO BEAUTIFUL AND SMOOTH!!!!", but I plan on fully decking it out and I want to know if it's really worth it compared to similarly priced pens that I would really like. Also, when I mean fully, I mean with gold nib, nice filling system, a small engraving and a few modifications. This would truly be a unique pen and quite sentimental from the start. I estimate it would be around $600-650 USD. OR, would it be better to buy something like a limited edition/vintage pen (eg: Conway Stewart, Visconti) and then have that kind of let it be. I guess the question I'm really asking is "Is the price justified by the sentiment, or should I just get a 'better pen'?" Well, I still have a few years (which when I think about it isn't even that long. AARGH I'm thinking to much) to mull over it; thanks for reading my pent-up stress over fountain pens, and have a fantastically beautiful morning/day/evening/night!

How Much Is This Pen Worth?

Hi Fountain Pen Network, I buy and sell second hand stuff, but more the collectible stuff and not just (bleep). So I recently bought this set of a fountain pen in a second hand shop for 8€. I am a total newbie to this sort of product and I would like to know how much I can sell it to collectors, on ebay or whatever. The trademark of the product is ''Senator regent''. In the set is: - Ink (Royal Blue-washable 1fl oz.) - Filler - Something I don't know - And a full brass bottle. It is unopened and unused, All the seals are unbroken as I can see it. But the packaging seems to be good condition, not really mint or near mint. The brass bottle is also not in the best condition because something seems to wear off. Please tell me something about the parts, the history of the trademark and this product if you know something, and the price I might be able to sell this for. Thanks a lot for your help! Jacob
