  1. I want to get myself my first Vanishing Point. I have read threads about Vanishing Point nib widths running a size wider than other Pilot models. I saw Goulet nib nook but it seems I cant benchmark the nib width. I can't decide whether I should go for a Medium or a Broad. I would like to use it for daily purposes. The only Japanese Medium I own is a Plaisir and a Preppy medium. Can anyone show a written sample of a Vanishing Point Broad compared to a Preppy or some other nib width?

  3. I am really attracted to http://www.franklin-christoph.com/model-33-abditus.html. I keep postponing buying one because of (the cost and) my concern with it that the pen itself may be a bit thin. As I cannot try and hold one in real life, I would appreciate thoughts and experiences from Model 33 owners. I own different pens and particularly like my Pilot VP's, Pelikan m205, Lamy 2000 and TWSBI 540, just to give you an idea of the diverse type and sizes that I like. Thanks!

Lamy 2000 - Medium Or Broad

Hello, Today I've finally decided, I want to buy a Lamy 2000. But I have a bit of a problem...I don't know which nib size I should get. I have medium sized handwriting, but I can effectively use nibs spanning from F (0.5mm!?) to 1.4mm stubs (that's the maximum I have at the moment), because I usually write cursive with smaller nibs (F, M) and print/italic with larger ones. That being said, which of the two sizes would you recommend? From what I've seen around here, the Broad nibs tend to have a bit of line variation (like a stub); is that the case with all Lamy 2000 Broads? Thank you!
  5. How has your nib prefer eve changed over the years? I used to buy fine and extra fine nibs exclusively until about seven years ago, when I started getting into broad and upwards. Now, my standard nib is is almost always going to be a stub or cursive italic, and wouldn't bother with anything smaller. I think larger nibs can be more demanding to use, but also help in maintaining a clear hand. Any thoughts?
  6. Hi FPN, I have been lurking for quite a while but this is my first post on here. I currently own a TWSBI 580 and a Lamy Safari, both in extra-fine, I have been considering purchasing either an Edison collier or a Pelikan m400 pen. I like my nibs to draw quite thin lines having come from Uni-ball pens, and I do not have access to a local store that sells Pelikan pens, I was wondering if someone could provide writing samples for a Pelikan extra-fine nib so I can try to assess the line-width. Thank you for your time, ~Chris
