  1. Hello from Toronto Canada...I have been a member of FPN for awhile now...but I have not logged on for many years...so lets say Im new to many of you. I, personally am not a fountain pen collector, but my late brother-in-law was, and I quite often purchased and sold items for him on eBay and I'm pretty sure both him and I sold some items on FPN. He passed away a while back and I was nominated by the family to sell off some of his collectibles that he had. One of his close friends who lives overseas told me to check with FPN to sell some of his pens or to get information on any pen that I might have questions about. So here I am ...I will be posting questions about any items in the proper catagory, and items that I am selling for his estate will be either in classifieds or where ever else I think they will get good exposure (ebay-???). keep your eyes open for a BRAND NEW IN THE BOX WATERMAN EDSON DIAMOND BLACK PT FOUNTAIN PEN WITH MED POINT NIB IN THE CLASSIFIEDS, and a question I have about a |Mont Blanc pen.

    Waterman In Douglas Kennedy Novel

Douglas Kennedy's novel Temptation describes the Waterman Edson as "the Ferrari of writing instruments." When he moved back to Manhattan, he had an Omas pen and a Moleskine NB. https://therealdeal.com/2015/01/10/inside-the-home-of-author-douglas-kennedy/
  3. There have been many threads here listing the “flagship” pens of various well known brands (see this, this, and this). I’m posting this simply to organize the information a little bit more attractively. To be clear, I define “flagship” as follows: A “flagship” pen is a regular production model (i.e., not a limited or special edition), which is generally the largest, most expensive, and most visibly advertised item in a brand’s inventory. Where no single pen satisfies all the criteria, a judgment call may have to be made on what (if any) product is the “flagship” for a particular brand. Obviously, a brand calling one of its own products its “flagship” trumps other considerations. Any corrections, additions, or suggestions are appreciated. 4. Hi all, As the title suggests, I have a blue Sapphire Edson in my collection. Only thing is, I'm afraid to take it to places other than my home to write - such as cafes and bars - for fear of it getting damaged; more in transit than when at the venue itself. This makes me silly, in my own opinion, for having one! I had a great suggestion from RMN, and I had thought of it myself, of a cigar tube. I will check this out later. Currently I have a 3 pen Franklin-Christoph case as my carry-around, but that has too much space at the side for things to get at the pen etc... plus, I keep some other pens in there. Now, I put a thread in Pen and other Para but I thought it might get more traction here amongst the Edson heads! Basically, I want something compact and protective that doesn't have much wiggle/rattle room for Ed. Also...PLEASE just post a pic, as it might be interesting anyway to see the various cases/methods and what not!!! Thanks all you FPeers
  5. Hello there, I am considering buying a Waterman Edson, but find it hard to decide between the Blue-Gold and the Silver-Black version. Since I have no opportunity here to check them out, I would like to ask those esteemed members of this forum who own both pens to describe the difference in appearance and feel between the two versions of the pens. Thanks for your help! Luis
