  1. I am so late to this news.. but I just heard about the death of probably the best fountain pen paper ever made. Does anyone have a suggestion for a paper that shows the amount of shading, shimmer, and sheen as Tomoe? Also do you think there is a possibility of them being it back? I will soon post a link underneath this post for a poll that will sort of be a petition to bring back Tomoe River. I hope that if the manufacturers happen to see it (there is a probably low chance that they will see it, but it’s worth a shot) that they will fix the machines and maybe raise the pric
  2. I am a big fan of Tomoe River Paper 52 gsm. I honestly haven't tried 68 gsm because I stocked up on 52 gsm. I didn't see a comparison thread yet so I thought I'd ask: Between 52 gsm and 68 gsm Tomoe River Paper, what is your preference and why? Or if you like both, why? Would like to hear what you think.
  3. I bought the beautiful montblanc notebook (#146). The cover is so luxurious that it'd be a waste to discard it once the notes are done .. Is there a way to repurpose the notebook with Tomoe river paper? I.e. purchase blank/lined TRP and bind the montblanc notebook with it?
  4. I made a political diagram using dip pens and inks on a single delicate sheet of Tomoe River Paper. Check out how small my drawings are! This page shows them off here (and explains the diagram!). Inks That Don't Like Tomoe

I recently had a strange experience with a Bungbox ink - Oranges of Lake Hamana. I really like this ink, in fact it is one of my all time favourites. It doesn't have any sheen, but the shading and the colour really hit the spot for me. It usually has a real 'liveliness' on the page. However, when I used it on Tomoe River Paper I was quite disappointed. It had a little shading but not nearly as much as on other papers and it lost all of its 'liveliness' to appear quite flat. I've noticed this with a few other inks and I guess it has something to do with the absorbancy of Tomoe River but hadn't

    Using A Seven Seas Notebook

I picked up a Seven Season Writer A5 Journal this week (4th edition). It arrived surprisingly quick and well-packaged. It looks absolutely amazing as I paged through it and I can't wait to begin using it but I promised myself I'd finish off my current journal before beginning a new one. But, I got to thinking--do I want to use it for journaling or something else entirely? Time to brainstorm; perhaps you're willing to share your ideas. For what purposes do you have/use/recommend a dedicated notebook?
  7. What I would really like is Tomoe River A4 signatures to make book blocks. I have been unable to find such a thing, or anything comparable. I've taken on a project of writing the Bible by hand using a fountain pen. I need the paper to lie flat while I'm writing, but eventually I would like to have it bound. I have found a Bible paper at Shepherds in London, which is between 40 and 60 gsm's. I've found Spanish book blocks at Talas, but the paper is 140 gsm. Talas also sells a book block of 90 gsm paper, but it is only 6.7" X 9.5" (170 x 240 mm). If I bought a book block, is it possible to
  8. Hi all, CastleGems clued me in that Paper for Fountain Pens has a new hardbound journal made with Tomoe River paper. It has 374 pages, 7.15 x 10.25 inch page size (close to B5). Check it out. http://www.paperforfountainpens.com

  10. I've been dying to get my hands on some of this paper since I first heard about it - and it didn't disappoint. This paper may well be the Best Ever paper for fountain pens. We have white A4 sheets in packs of 100 sheets for $16.50 per pack.
  11. Hello! This is a review of Tomoe River Paper It is my very first paper review, so I hope I'm addressing every possible issue. It is available from Jetpens.com (No affiliation) $15 for 100 sheets. My girlfriend was kind enough to buy some for me to try out. The following is my handwritten review and it's transcription: Overview:http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3665/12402196403_8ea52c6edc_c.jpgDSCF6583 by makey95, on Flickr Under Warmer Lighting:http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2816/12402049045_bab0699cff_c.jpgDSCF6602 by makey95, on Flickr The Pens Used (In No Particular Order, Capped):http://farm8.s
