Hi all! Total newb question, but one of the main selling points on my Safari Petrol was the ability to explore different nibs without having to buy a new pen. Now that I have a second nib, how do I clean and store the one that is currently on my pen? (I will probably switch the nib out while the pen is still inked, using the tape trick in the Goulet video.) My first thought was to soak it for about 5 minutes in distilled water then wipe it off with a paper towel, but will this damage the black finish or otherwise harm my nib? Is there a better way of doing it? Thanks!

Being only a high school student, I have spare money I can use for ink. I plan or at least want to continue using fountain pens into college. So now that I have spare money, money left from saving for college, should I begin to buy, store, and keep until I begin college, in maybe three years? What happens to the ink? Thanks!

Hello, a Pilot Vanishing Point (Capless) is on the way to my mailbox and I was thinking about this: I am storing all my capped pens with the nib upwards, both when I'm carrying them in my bag and when they're resting in a glass on my desk. I can see the VP placed nicely in a shirt pocket, however, I don't know what would I do if I wanted to put it in a case, or just store it on my desk. Wouldn't I wear the clicking mechanism if I placed it with the nib upwards; or wouldn't the ink leak from the nib if I did it the opposite way? Since many of you have VPs, how do you carry and store them? Thanks in advance for your tips!
