    Sheaffer: Skrip Green

http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-kleks.png I present to test the ink Sheaffer Skrip Green color ... some people compare him to turquoise. But they are wrong. Color ink is verdigris or if you will - green-blue. Inks have good a writer as far as dries quickly. I have no comments. If someone that verdigris to the liking, let buy with confidence. Manufacturer: Sheaffer Series, colour: Skrip Green Pen: Waterman Hemisphere, nib "F" Paper: Image Volume (80 g / m2) Specifications: Flow rate: very good Lubrication: good Bleed through: possible point Shading: noticeable Feathering: unnoticeable Saturation: good A drop of ink smeared with a nib http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-kleks.jpg The ink smudged with a cotton pad http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-wacik.jpg Lines http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-kreski.jpg Water Resistance http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-woda.jpg Ink drying time http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-wysychanie.jpg Ink drops on a handkerchief http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-chromatografia1.jpg Chromatography http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-chromatografia2.jpg Sample text http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-txt.jpg Sample text in an Oxford notebook A5 (90 g / m2) http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-Oxford.jpg Sample letters in a Rhodia notebook No 16 (90 g / m2) http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Green-Rhodia.jpg

    Sheaffer: Skrip Red

http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-nazwa.png I present to test the ink Sheaffer Skrip Red with a beautiful, highly saturated red color. Ink writing very perfectly. Swimmingly nib flows on paper. Good drying, no bleed through even worse photocopying paper. So far underestimated inks Sheaffer, from today it will change, I guarantee. Highly recommended! Manufacturer: Sheaffer Series, colour: Skrip Red Pen: Waterman Hemisphere, nib "F" Paper: Image Volume (80 g / m2) Specifications: Flow rate: very good Lubrication: good Bleed through: unnoticeable Shading: noticeable Feathering: unnoticeable Saturation: very good A drop of ink smeared with a nib http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-kleks.jpg The ink smudged with a cotton pad http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-wacik.jpg Lines http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-kreski.jpg Water Resistance http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-woda.jpg Ink drying time http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-wysychanie.jpg Ink drops on a handkerchief http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-chromatografia1.jpg Chromatography http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-chromatografia2.jpg Sample text http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-txt.jpg Sample text in an Oxford notebook A5 (90 g / m2) http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-Oxford.jpg Sample letters in a Rhodia notebook No 16 (90 g / m2) http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/Sheaffer-Skrip-Red-Rhodia.jpg

    Sheaffer No Nonsense Converter

Hi everyone, I just received a Sheaffer No Nonsense fountain pen that I bought online. It neither include a cartridge nor converter, so on searching I found a sheaffer piston converter in an online store, kindly tell me whether it will fit No Nonsense or not as in some posts in some other sites I read that these pens have different converters. The link of the converter is: http://www.flipkart.com/sheaffer-converter-piston-ink/p/itmdjtk4frwgv6wc Please tell so that I can buy it and enjoy this great pen. Thanks.
  5. I have some NOS Sheaffer Script Blue ink in the old glass bottle. It hadn't been opened till I got it and I made a sample for my ink catalog and was wowed by the color (please see the attached image). I don't have any blue inks like it nor have I seen any blue/grey inks that match it. It's blue, not aqua, and medium toned, like a grey. Many blues go aqua, or deep blue, blue black or burple. The image I attached is as close as I can get to what I see. It's on Clairefontaine paper. Can anyone recommend a modern alternative that's close in color?

    Lady Sheaffer 642

Hello everyone, I hope I'm doing this right. To get straight to the point, I have a Lady Sheaffer 642 and I would like a converter for it. I used to have one and it used a squeeze converter but as we all know, these are no longer being made and extremely hard to find. It's even harder when you live in the UK and the only things you can find are in the USA. So I'm here to ask if anyone knows any other converter I could possible use for this pen? Or even better, if there is anywhere in the UK/EU where I can buy a Sheaffer squeeze converter for the older pens. Thank you
  7. Purchased this pen and am looking for some help identifying it. Please forgive the photos on my kitchen counter with the Beatles White Album as a makeshift light box, it's the best I could do. Do you use imgur for hosting? That's what I'm going to do. https://i.imgur.com/k90GXeH.jpg It has the rounded cap of a later Crest, but the cap isn't entirely gold. There's a gold band at the base of the cap and the rest is silver colored save the clip. The white dot is raised and placed above the clip, and has a gold metal ring around it. There's an imprint on the cap reading SHEAFFER - MADE IN USA on the back parallel to the gold band. The cap is lined in groups of four lines, increasing in length from two thirds of the cap length to almost the entire length of the cap. The nib is two toned triumph, appearing to be of the welded sort but not definitively. There's a slightly visible seam at the back of the nib that isn't readily photographed. The imprint reads: SHEAFFER'S REG. U.S. PAT. OFFICE MADE IN U.S.A. 14K 0409391 I don't expect the number to be useful. Interestingly, the SHEAFFER'S imprint is not arced like I've seen in other examples, but straight. The cap threads are at the barrel end of the section rather than the nib end. Both the section and the nib seem to be of the tapered style rather than the early more broad style. The barrel imprint appears standard, but reads: W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A MADE IN U.S.A. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's the combination two tone cap with a lever filler that I'm not familiar with. Is it a frankenpen? It's wider than my snorkels, but not longer.

    Pen Identification

Hey everybody, I recently was gifted a pen, but after research have no clue of its origin. The barrel says sheaffer-made in u.s.a. but I can't find any pens with the same nib. And the cap doesn't say sheaffer but has a s imprinted on the clip. Any help is appreciated
  9. Hello, Would anyone have any tips on removing the section from a Sheaffer Junior 275? I have tried soaking the pen, applying heat, and using section pliers, but the section just won't budge for me. Please see pics for reference. I currently have the nib and feed removed for cleaning since I couldn't get the section off to replace the sac.

    Detached Wire Band

I have a Sheaffer Admiral Lever-Fill with a Wire Band cap. The wire band has come detached from the cap. It came off cleanly, no chips or cracks in the cap. Were these bands originally affixed by adhesive or simply pressure fit? What would be my best choice of re-securing? Thanks.
  11. I picked up this Sheaffer mechanical pencil from a junk shop a while back. Trying to determine which model balance it went with. It seems to be between the oversize and standard size models, but I'm having trouble finding measurements for these things. Anyone have a link or something to point me in the right direction?

What Sheaffer Pen Are You Using Today?

Today i'm using my Sheaffer Prelude with Palladium cap and 22k gold accents.
  15. Hello, I've recently repaired a few Sheaffer vac-fillers using the method I often see in these parts of drilling through the barrel to the packing unit and picking out the rubber and felt. I then came across this method by Grandmia, in which he says that he soaked and heated the barrel, before using a dowel to knock out the packing unit for repair. I'm keenly interested in this method, what with the difficulty of alternatively picking out the packing unit through the barrel. Has anyone else tried this? Approximately how long does the barrel need to be soaked? (I've been soaking for three days and the packing unit is not budging at all). Video by Grandmia: Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  16. Hello, I'm seeing if anyone has tackled this problem. As I was trying to wrestle a Sheaffer Triumph nib off a vac filler, the feed snapped. The nib and the rest of it is out, but there's a length of the feed still stuck in the collar. I've tried to soak it and twist it out (It'd be nice to preserve the collar for a spare, just in case) but it's not really budging. I do have a spare nib/feed/collar combo from a past botched vac fill project, and am hoping to at least get the collar out, so I can replace the Triumph nib unit and get this pen working. Am planning to drill into the feed, see if it holds, and then twist out the collar. If not, I will possibly just drill out the feed and then use a larger drill bit to then twist out the emptied collar. Thoughts?

    Lost Sheaffer Richmond Found

A few years ago, I bought a Sheaffer Richmond, one of two engraved silver Touchdown pens made to commemorate The Recent Unpleasantness. The primary reason I wanted it, however, was to remember my late father, whose name was Richmond Lee McCarty. Also, my middle name is Richmond. Recently, I invited a group of close fountain pen friends, whom I usually see only at the Dallas Pen Show or the Pelikan Hub, over to the house for an interim get-together (we all should have such wonderful pen friends). While going through my collection, I realized that the Richmond was missing. Knowing that it probably was in its original box somewhere, I looked high and low, but couldn't find it. My wife and I made a Sunday project today of gathering together all my old pen boxes to put them in storage. I was hoping I would find the Richmond, but had no luck until we ran across a wine box that I thought was empty. It was full of pen boxes, and at the very bottom was the Richmond in its original packaging. I hope you will share my joy at finding my lost pen, and may you have similar good fortune if you ever lose one.
  18. Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me if I can remove and rotate a Prelude nib? Stephen Brown demonstrated that, with care, a nib and feed can be removed for cleaning, but he replaced it in the same orientation. Are the nib and feed keyed in the housing? In which case, I cannot rotate the nib to suit my grip. Alternatively, could I fit an oblique italic, if the nib and feed are not keyed? Next, is the 14K gold nib on a Signature pen identical to the Prelude? In which case, could I fit a gold nib into the Prelude, with the sculpted grip? Finally, does a Prelude grip section fit properly into a Signature barrel and cap, so that the snap cap fits properly? Many thanks for your help everyone, IannL

    Help Me Identify This Pen

I have no knowledge about pens. Could anyone tell me anything about it? See pictures.
  23. Well ink loving friends, here is a review of some vintage Sheaffer's Skrip Permanent Blue Black with RC-35! There are some older reviews on our site, but not many. Let me share the story of my acquisition. Attending a preview for a living auction of someone in our area moving to an assisted living in Florida, I discovered a secretary's desk. It had been repainted a muted green, though I fail to understand the mentality that wishes to cover beautiful old, dark wood. The auctioneers weren't going to bother offering the contents separately, so near the end of the long day it came for sale. The desk itself was neat, but the contents were even better: some old pens, dip pens and nibs, other knick-knacks and bric-a-brac, and a bottle of Sheaffer Skrip ink. From a bit of research on the site this bottle comes from the era 1955-67. It was made in Ft. Madison while the Snorkel pen was on the market. It's somewhat easy here to find old bottles, less so with liquid ink in them. This ink was perfectly clear, still had a good inky aroma. In working on a project with my inks, I filled an Edison Beaumont pneumatic filler with this one. Here are the results. The images seem to have captured the ink as darker than in fact. This is not the darkest of the modern blue-black inks, it is lighter than most, but not light itself, if that makes sense. BB4B, OS Manganese, Sailor Shoushikan Sei-ran, and others are all darker overall than this ink. But these other inks don't have quite the same kind of shading as this one which ranges from fairly light to quite dark. Another review shows this ink as being much darker. But I can't elaborate on the provenance of this particular bottle other than what I have. I haven't experienced any problems with this ink. It is actually quite water resistant, so while it is said you can recover your writing under UV light if the ink is washed away, at least on the modern inkjet paper it was quite permanent. A nice trip down memory lane. Pen: Edison Beaumont pneumatic (M-steel) Papers: MvL=Mohawk via Linen, TR=Tomoe River, Hij=Hammermill 28 lb inkjet, Rhodia=Rhodia 90g ivory. Camera: iPhone 7
  24. If anyone can help its you guys! I just purchased a couple of pens. a restored pastel green Sheaffer Sentinel Snorkel (14K triumph nib) and its less appealing counterpart the ballpen. The pens are not in yet, but I did stumble upon a refill for the Sheaffer ballpoint. I immediately purchased it and tested the refill, and am not enthused to write with it. to be honest, I'll probably only use it when I'm in a pinch at a restaurant stuck sketching a design on a napkin, but I'm hoping to find a refill from perhaps another brand that has more glide and juiciness. Thanks in advance for the help! Cheers

    Hello Everyone!

Hello to all! So glad to finally have a profile here. I've read threads on this site so many times to help answer my questions, and I figured it was finally time to engage actively and make connections. I have always been a fountain pen lover, but have only recently started collecting, first with Rotring and more recently Sheaffer'S. I have some oddities I would love to post photos of to get advice with dating or just answer general "why does my pen look like this!?" kinds of questions. I'll also post photos of my "Follow the Dot" Sheaffer'S collection at some point, still not complete (and perhaps I'll find help there also!) Thanks again for all the help in the past, and it's good to be here to hopefully give back. Matt
