Cult Pens (Uk) 10% Off On Uk Brands

Looks like Cult Pens has a 10% off on British Brands for both local and overseas customers. Discount might help in offsetting the shipping costs for international customers. https://www.cultpens.com/c/q/special-offers/round-the-world-sale-uk-brands (Disclaimer: No Affiliation or Responsibility, Just a FYI Post)
  2. I was wondering how many fountain pens are sold every year. I read that the fountain pen industry sells $1 billion of pens. I can't find how many individual pens are sold. Anyone know the average selling price of fountain pens. I could come up with some estimates of number of units sold. For instance, if I assume $200 asp then I get 5,000,000 fountain pens sold worldwide. I would really appreciate some solid sources that have units sold numbers. It could be any year since 2000.

    Massdrop M805 Stresemann

Looks like Massdrop is running a drop on the M805 in the Stresemann finish. The price looks OK but is above my current budget. $400 https://www.massdrop.com/buy/pelikan-souveran-m805-stresemann-special-edition
  4. Just saw this on Goulet Pens' website: They have a new version of the Duragraph, the "Merlot," which is a red/purple flecked design. https://www.gouletpens.com/conklin-duragraph-fountain-pen-merlot-1.1mm-stub/p/CK71383 According to their blog post, it is exclusive to Goulet Pens. Right now they have the 1.1 stub and medium in stock, fine is currently not in stock, though they take #6 nibs so a swap would be easy. They're offering the Merlot initially at $35 instead of the $52 the other Duragraphs go for on their site. Finally, they still have an outstanding promo for a free 90ml of Monteverde Ink with any Conklin, so that's a Duragraph w/converter and 90ml bottle of ink for $35. I might have gotten lucky with mine since I hear QC isn't pristine at Conklin, but my green Duragraph with a 1.1 stub is one of my favorite pens and writes wonderfully. I considered it a deal at $50 -- $35 puts it squarely in "starter pen" territory, and I'd consider it superior to any of the other pens I've tried at that price. For any interested - enjoy! ~AK

Fountain Pen Savings And New Nibs!

http://i63.tinypic.com/n6thjk.jpg Karas Pen Co Signature Pens Decograph 1703 – Winter’s Tale “To unpathed waters, undreamed shores” – William Shakespeare, The Winter’s Tale Facing the unknown and uncharted causes a myriad of responses in humans. Some embrace it, charging headlong into adventure. Others shrink from it, preferring the safety of home and familiarity. At Karas Pen Co, we’ve always fallen into the first group—looking for ways to move forward, experimenting with random ideas, and taking risks. The Decograph is the culmination of a journey through unpathed waters. Our research and development for this pen required adapting our machines to a new type of material—one that is nowhere near as uniform in its behavior as the metals we are accustomed to. This latest adventure has proven quite successful. In the spirit of Camillo’s words to Perdita and Florizel, we’d like to invite you to our “unpathed waters, undreamed shores.” Our winter Decograph Special Edition 1703, is a brisk addition to the Decograph pen line. The pen is crafted from material that is a chilling shade of wintergreen, struck through with ribbons of black and streaks of glittery ice. Let us bring a bit of winter cheer to the holidays a little early this year. The 1703 – Winter’s Tale special edition is limited to 60 pieces, each elegantly laser marked on the barrel with sequential numbers. Each pen ships in our custom made and marked pen capsule with a polished steel nib in sizes EF-B, 1.1mm stub, or 1.5mm stub, a standard international converter, and five black standard international cartridges. 2-tone, black lacquer, titanium, and 14K gold nib upgrades are available for an additional charge when selecting the nib choice. MSRP - $165.00 for a limited time use the coupon code DB03DG15 to receive $15.00 dollars off the Decograph 1703. http://i68.tinypic.com/30mmt8z.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/2i9r1c2.jpg Our Standard Decograph in Black and Green have been reduced $20.00 dollars for the holidays. We have just finished a brand new batch of each color and they are ready to be shipped. Grab them at this great price, don't forget to use our HAPPYHOLIDAYS coupon code on your purchase. http://i66.tinypic.com/f09lc1.jpg For our Fountain K fans, we now have Titanium nibs for your pens. Don't miss out on these awesome nibs, similar to the Titanium nibs for the INK fountain pen. They provide an amazing experience with a springy, semi-flex nib that is amazingly controllable. Check out our video review of these wonderful nibs HERE.

    Sales Advice Needed

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice/help with thinning down my pen collection. I started about 20 years ago and had a focus on Montblanc and ST Dupont. I've thinned them down before by selling some of the pens that don't really fit what I keep on ebay. Those days I had a little fewer than 100 pens. Now I have over 250 pens and some really unique ones, too! Most of my collection pens have never been inked. For example, I bought the Montblanc Copernicus when it was released. I'm considering letting it go because of the amount of money tied up in it. I have two really unique ST Dupont pens - the Leroy Neiman Golf pens - the rollerball and fountain pen - number 001/400... first ones made! I bought most of my Montblancs at our boutique and ST Dupont between two authorized ST Dupont dealerships. These are 3 pens. I'm planning on selling about 100, many of my Pelikan, Visconti, and Loiminchay to name a few. I really let things go and want to reign them back in, free up some cash and purchase some that fit what we had in mind back when we started. If you have any ideas that can help us sell about 100 of them, I'd appreciate it. We can go ebay, but I'm not sure how cost effective it is anymore. Thanks in advance for your advice and help. Joe
  8. Just looking for some advice: I was on another FP board and was offered a beaten up Waterman 52 with a nib transplant with a super nice 0.23 to about 3mm flex nib on it. Dude seemed pretty nice and genuine, so I went ahead via paypal. He posted images of the pen and even did a writing sample for me. He confirmed he got my payment on the 17th (16th in the US) and said he'd clean it and send it the day after (and send me tracking number / attach it to the paypal payment, which he still hasn't done either). Since then, he hasn't responded to any PM's and he's showing the 20th as his last "activity" even though he didn't post anything. His last post was his PM to me saying he'd send it tomorrow, I believe. I even sent an email off to the address used for his paypal hoping that would connect. My question: How long do you think is reasonable (assuming no correspondence) before I start mentioning forcing a refund from paypal / actually go ahead with it. I'm thinking one and a half weeks, charging back on the 2nd week, but curious to get some input from other people with more experience in the buying / selling pen market.

    Pen Sale!

On the event of my father's passing two months ago Mom and I have been going through his pens and have decided to have a post-Black Friday sale. The sale is Buy One get One half off, the second pen must be of equal or lesser value. You can see our inventory and prices here -> http://www.myfavoritepen.com/ I am actually not interested in the one Mak-ee-ay finish (I used phonetic-ish spelling because I don't have the faintest idea of how to spell it) pen, and was wondering if anyone on here was an expert or knew anything about them so we could attempt to assertain it's value so that we may sell it at a later date. Also we are in the process of going through both his personal collection (Consisting of mostly Parker 51's) and my own (a mish mash of styles and brands) and we have also stumbled upon MANY MANY books on the subject of fountain pens, if you be interested in any of these books please message me, I will try to be on more often. After we finish deciding on prices for his personal collection we will post pictures of the pens along with prices on the My Favorite Pen website. Thank you all, both old customer and perhaps prospective new ones, your business is much appreciated in these tough economic times. ~ Mari, 14
