  2. Hello, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if someone could help me verify if my montblanc pen is real. The plastic glows red under light. It has a pin on the cap "GV1084802" has GERMANY on cap, under the clip it says PIX. Their was a rubber seal on the cap(rollerball pen) what concerns me is the box, the pen I bought was a rollerball 75th anniversary, used. The guy I bought it from got it from a pawn shop(he owns it) the box had a black stretchy strip to keep the pen in the case without moving. It came with a montblanc gaurentee, but it wasn't stamped, as well as the warrantee wasn't stamped. Are their any indicators that I received a fake. Thank you so much, in advance.
  3. Hi there! First post! So apologies if it's in the wrong section. Gotta say, love the site and everyone seems really friendly, which is always good. Anyway, about my post, I'm looking at the following Montblanc Noblesse, but am unsure as to wether the pen is genuine or not, and how much is a reasonable price to pay for one of these, as I'm relatively new to all this. The link has a good few pictures from all different angles. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171257114157?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1432.l2649 If you could let me know, as it's something I'd be looking to purchase should everything be well and good. If not, could anyone recommend a place to look for one? Many thanks, Tom
  4. What is your backup pen? or do you have one? What is the sidekick that you carry for when you need to make carbon prints or in situations where a fountain pen is not suitable (when writing on plastic coated paper). My side kick is the Lamy Swift Palladium. http://www.lamy.com/produktdaten/content/e34/e526/e554/330_swift_Palladium_TR_eng.jpg

    Stories Of Pens

Hi I am researching stories to do with pens in the hope of turning them into a book. All tales that are humorous, poignant or just plain interesting, would be welcome. With the World War in Europe centenary coming up there must be stories from the trenches that European members might have that run in the family and there sure must be some fascinating tales from US members that they have heard that could be used. 6. Hey guys I am relatively new to the fountain pen hobby (about 5 months) and I wanted to see if someone might be able to explain to me how Kaweco Rollerballs work. I've HEARD that they can be used with fountain pen ink cartridges/converter, but I've also seen them with regular rollerball refills. It might not be a lot of money, but I don't want to go ahead and buy a $20 pen if I'm not going to get what I want to expect. I bought a Noodler's Nib Creeper Rollerball, and I like it (I really do), but, the first tip lasted me about a month and the second tip lasted less than a week. If the Kaweco rollerballs CAN use fountain pen ink, I think they might be a better long term option than the Noodler's Nib Creeper. But, if they only take rollerball refills, that might just be money down the drain for me. Any advice/tips/suggestions?
  7. ok, folks, let's admit it--no matter how much we love and prefer our fountain pens, we still can't avoid using rollerballs and ballpoints for tasks like filling out immigration forms, multiple-copy forms, and any paper that feathers badly. so, do we put as much care into choosing them, and do you have any favorites among yours? here are the ones in my rotation: http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2811/9178772841_3a0e59e4e0.jpg from the top: 1. a 1970s sterling silver sheaffer ballpoint with a vine design--one of the most beautiful ballpoints, imho; i had one in the 1980s and had to give it away (long story) but i was happy to find this replacement at the chicago pen show. 2. a parker duofold ballpoint that i was lucky to get off ebay, buy-it-now, for $50 (thanks to a tip on FPN). 3. a montblanc 100th anniversary rollerball, the generous grift of a friend; been dying to get the FP version (almost got one at the chicago pen show auction but got cold feet in the closing minutes--now i regret it!). 4. a chinese lacque ambre sonnet rollerball, off ebay from india; one of the most desirable sonnet finishes. got this in a twin purchase, along with the FP version.

    Visconti Vs. Stipula

I'm about to buy my first "fine" pen. I'm wanting a rollerball now, my everyday pen. One that I can carry with me everywhere. I have my eyes set on two different pens. I was wondering if anyone here can give me advice, pros/cons of each, and hopefully hear from people who own one of the models. Visconti Surrealist Salvador Dali - Brown Rollerball Pen Stipula Etruria Celluloid Rollerball - Amber any advice would be appreciated!
