  1. Hello everyone! I'm brand new to the world of fountain pens, and have a couple beginner's questions regarding my new Retro 51 Tornado. It came with a medium nib, which writes nicely, but I'd like to purchase a nib that allows me to vary my line stroke and write more calligraphically and personally. Before I look into flexible or italic nibs, however, I was wondering if my pen can even take replacement nibs; the nib doesn't seem to come apart from the nib assembly/ feed, so even if I knew the correct size to buy I'm not sure if my pen could take it. Do I have to purchase an entire new nib assembly (in which case, where should I look to buy them?) or does the nib disconnect in a way I'm unaware of? Thank you all, Alec

Inkwell and Brew - Estes Park, CO

Accidentally found this nice store in Estes Park, CO. Coffee, Stationary, Ink and Pens. https://inkwellbrew.com/ The coffee was excellent, staff very friendly. They carried a nice selection of notebooks, journals, and assorted things, in FP friendly paper. They also had a selection of J Herbin inks and Retro pens. Have a room upstairs to sit and play board games, drink coffee, and I suppose write. I wanted to sit and write my journal there, but didn't have time. Nice, different shop.

    Glow In The Dark Ink?

So the new Retro 51 glow-in-the-dark pen has got me thinking about glow-in-the-dark ink. I haven't seen any. We already have some invisible ink, but that's different. Glow-in-the-dark items that I own (novelty clothes, watch markings) are visible in daylight but glow when it's dark; quite different from invisible except under UV light. I thought if such an ink existed, it would make a fun Halloween gift. Does anyone know of one?
