  1. Quick question about the modern Parker Premier series. If I were to take a section (including feed and nib) from a Premier fountain pen and put it on the barrel of a rollerball, would the rollerball cap close? Asking because I have an extra fountain pen section/feed/nib that writes very nicely, and thinking about buying a rollerball and putting the fountain pen section etc on the rollerball cap and barrrel. Would that work? Is there a less expensive way to turn that Premier nib unit into a working pen? I've done this with Sonnets and it's worked just fine, but I don't have a Premier rollerball anywhere near me to check. Wondering if I'm about to make a $100 mistake by buying the rollerball to use its cap and barrel with a FP section.

    Parker Premier

So, trip report time. Yesterday, I went to the Fountain Pen Hospital in NYC and purchased a Parker Premier. I wasn't initially drawn to the Parker brand because it had in my mind a cheap drugstore reputation, but I liked the way the Pemier felt and the way it wrote. It's a heavy pen because of a brass base, but it's pretty well balanced. Posting the cap changes the balance slightly. I like the weight, though I'm not sure everyone would. It has an 18kt gold nib and I got a medium. The nib is butter smooth on good paper and (bleep) paper alike.
  3. Hello, I've been using Pilot Metropolitan as a beginner fountain pen, and few days ago I ordered a Parker Premier Monochrome Black Edition to make a upgrade. And when I tried to write with it I noticed that the ink is not coming out as well whenever I write. Would this be a ink problem or the nib/pen problem? I'm thinking of returning this pen if it's the pen/nib problem. Here is a example of what I'm talking about It's little hard to see in the numbers, but in the second slash you can definitely see the gradient. it's little gray on the top then more dark on the bottom. Can someone please help me and let me know what I should do?
  4. Hello everyone! I need your help I am going to buy a Parker Premier for a very special person. It is his 'holy grail' pen, so I don't have to worry about the brand or the model. It is only a question of the finish. Generally, there are two versions which I take into consideration. 1) Black Parker Premier GT 2) Black Parker Premier Custom Tartan. He likes them both, but we couldn't find a Tartan version anywhere in my country. The pen shop owners say that only a few Tartans were sold during the last six-seven years and they import them on special request only. But then I would have to pay in advance, what isn't particularly appealing, as the pen is quite expensive for me and I would like it to be a perfect gift. It is hard to judge by looking on just a few pictures. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could post a few good quality photos of GT and Tartan (ultimately side by side, but I guess that not many of us have both versions) and share his/her opinion. My pros and cons of each version: 1) GT has a classic, elegant look. But there are lots of other black&gold pens, which will possibly become a part of his collection one day. 2) Tartan is unusual and hard to buy, what makes it more unique. There are also a few disadvantages: all the pens he has are black&silver, and I would probably have to pay for it in advance. I would also have to order it as soon as possible to make sure that it would arrive on time (it would be a birthday gift). Thank you for your help, it is so appreciated. I understand that it is a matter of taste, but... it really matters! Have a lovely Sunday.

    Counterfeit Parker Premier On Ebay?

I was starting to bid on this Parker Premier fountain pen: Parker Premier Black Lacquer Silver Trim Fountain Pen But as I took a closer look at the photo that shows a close-up of the nib--I noticed that it has the little plus symbol inside the diamond--something that you look for on fake Sonnet nibs. Is this always a dead give-away of a fake Parker, or did they ever legitimately produce a nib with this symbol on it? Or are there any other indicators on this Premier that give it away as a fake or as genuine?

    Parker Duofold Or Parker Premier

Hello fpn, So I've finally saved up enough money to get a new fountain pen, and I've narrowed down my choice to one of two pens: The Parker Duofold and the Parker Premier. Both of the pens appeal to me equally, though on different levels. The duofold is to me a nice classic timeless design, whereas the Premier is a very masculine and well-built modern design. Furthermore, I like the light-weight duofold for good ergonomics, but also like the Premier for a durable finish. So I really am stumped, so I just wanted to get some opinions from you guys.

    Parker Premier Luxury Question

Hello, Since I've got my Parker Premier Luxury Black last month, I have very much loved it. However, there is a slight annoyance in the form of a small amount of ink on the nib every time I uncap the pen. I think the issue may be with the cap, but I can' treacly see anything wrong with it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Parker Premier 18K Presidential

Hi, This is a Parker Premier 18K gold fountain pen that I recently acquired. It has been in the box for a long time and the body and cap looks like they could be polished up a little bit. Should I have someone clean it up or just leave it as is? Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks, IKWarren
  9. Almost 5 months ago I "designed" and had this pen case tailor-made for me: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/mmmcosta/Watches/PenCase_zps27acfdc3.jpg Here's the story: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/245327-tailor-made-pen-case/ Earlier today the cartridge went empty - in the small side pocket, a spare was available for replacement. Best! Marcelo

  11. I wanted a single pen case to carry my fountain pens: Waterman Carène, Parker Premier and Caran d'Ache Leman. I found some interesting options, but had to import them. There was also another issue: I wanted a case that could also carry a spare cartridge. What I did was, based on this Lamy design, http://www.pensandleather.com/images/products/detail/lamy_dialog_pen_case_open.jpg asking for a tailor-made one at a good shoe shop at my hometown - these people know how to work with leather. They even put a kind of shammy inside, to keep the integrity of lacquer and external paiting. But what makes it really tailor-made, to my "specifications", was the little "pocket" to carry the cartridge: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/mmmcosta/Watches/PenCase_zps27acfdc3.jpg Not that beautifully finished, but very functional. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-cool14.gif Regards, Marcelo
