    Pelikan Dry Out

Just wanted to share. I had left my Pelikan filled with R&K Dokumentus unattended in it's pen case in the bottom drawer. 7 months on, instant start. No skipping and delightful as usual.
  2. http://www.photo-host.org/images/2018/04/14/pJoKNQcG.jpg Pictured is a Unbranded ( Modified ) Piston Filler . Modified : Piston taken out of a Wing Sung 3008 and fitted to this one ( pictured ) to get a functioning piston lock ! Currently have 7 Piston Fillers .. 2 Being 2017/18 Wing Sung 3008 ( also the most disappointing ) .. After some tweaking all but 1 ( W-S 3008 Gold Trim ) have functioning piston locks . It got me wondering , since the parts seem to be interchangeable ( Mine were ) . Just how many models / brands of piston filler are there ? Are they all made at the same factory out of the same components ? Why buy a PenBBS for ? - If say the POP 3008 is more or less the same pen ? And the more I troll FeeBay , the more variations / brands I seem to find ... (?) A) Are they more or less the same pen ? How many are there ? C) Do they all come from the same factory ? ( Obviously the Indian / Pakistan / Japanese ? pens don't .. )

    Vacumatic Revisited

This is a prototype at the moment for a pen that will be made in very small quantities. 10 (ten) The pen is all hand made, it was born out of an experiment, making a pen with an overlay and ink window, personally I like the syringe type, but in this case, an overlay made more clear the need for a longer body and a small blind cap and a big ink reservoir, therefore I thought why not to make a vacumatic type of pen, but, we do not have diaphragms, and they complicate the construction of the pen, the solution was to replace what in a parker would be a latex diaphragm by the same type of pistons we use in slim pens like the vulcain and calame. One member of the forum asked me why not to make a vacumatic, but the diaphragm is something I dont like, since latex dries out quickly, it decomposes quickly and gets eaten by some inks,.......to make it short, you move a piston instead. The breath tube is made of inox built in the carbon fiber feed which is 6mm (nobody makes those, except us) and comes from another pen that's been in the catalog that uses them, therefore the whole unit can be easily taken away for cleaning. The whole pen can be dismantled by taken away the two screws, that removes the piston unit and the overlay everything at once. So you can clean it.
  4. I recently purchased and restored this beautiful piston filler, and I'm trying to learn some information about it. The only markings on the entire pen are "Favorit" on the cap, and "Warranted Wing Flow" on the nib. While doing some research on "Favorit", I came across Lamy's Artus Favorit pen, and there are definitely some similarities here: the clip shape, and the piston mechanism's glued on cork. My best thought is that this is some kind of knock off, but the quality of the materials and build make me think that this is more than just a copy. Does anyone have any thoughts or perhaps any experience with a similar pen? http://i.imgur.com/4eBJ1INl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PNyhvj4l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/waAuH9zl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BJdabXAl.jpg

    The V Parisienne

Here is the pen with more detail, the pen is already online on the site, it has to be said that for this pen there's no steel nib version, its either 6mm 14k or 18k rhodium plated or natural gold as standard. It has a piston mechanism, 2.2ml ink capacity; the pen is 10-12mm thick, carbon fiber nib casing, carbon fiber piston and mechanism, gold plated parts and black glossy lacquered fiber body. The pen is quite compact around 145mm long 30 gram caped and loaded. Here the link to the pen for more information. Let me know your comments! https://www.venvstas.com/parisienne
  6. I've been a lurker on Fountain Pen Network for awhile and thought I'd post my first review on the Pilot Custom Heritage 92 which I received this week and also compare them to my other pens. I'd been reading about fountain pens for years and always wanted to get one but cost was somewhat a deterrent and I really didn't have a use for them to justify the cost. I have too many other expensive hobbies. What changed was I started journaling on a regular basis last year and decided 6 months ago to dabble in fountain pens now that I have a use for them. I've always had a fascination with writing instruments so naturally fountain pens became a really good hobby to tinker around. So why did I get a Pilot Custom Heritage 92 and why did I get 3 of them? I got the PCH92 because I wanted a piston filler that was a full size pen and I wanted a pen I could use posted. I looked at and still want a Pelikan M600, but it's just a little too pricey right now for me to justify buying it. I got 3 PCH92's because I got a really good deal on 2 of them. The orange one was $51 shipped and the smoke one was $100 shipped. The blue one was the one I wanted the most and I ordered it at the normal eBay price of $130 shipped from Japan. All 3 pens came in the mail this week. Once I saw them in person, I fell in love with all 3 colors. I'm surprised I like the orange one as much as I do since I usually don't like anything orange. I did end up swapping the nib of the smoke and the orange one due to the ink choices I went with for each of them. I'll cover why below. Construction: The PCH92 is clearly better quality than the TWSBI pens in person. The piston mechanism is more smooth and it gives you a more definite stopping point when you've depressed the piston all the way down. I feel like the TWSBI pens have more play and doesn't give you clear feedback once the piston is all the way down. The TWSBI mechanism also feels more fragile as I'm twisting. I don't have any really high end pens to compare the PCH92 to but I'm very happy with them. I think they're equally as good as my Lamy 2000. 5/5 Size And Weight: I write with the PCH 92 posted and it feels very well balanced. To me I'd say it's balanced near the middle of the pen. It's feels lighter than my Lamy 2000 which is also evenly balanced. It feels about the same as the TWSBI 580 unposted. It's definitely a little heftier compared to a Lamy Safari but not heavy by any means. Personally I feel the Lamy 2000 is about as heavy a pen as I'd use for a writing for long periods of time so the PCH 92 is a very good balance of size (both the length of the pen post and the girth of the barrel) and weight. 5/5 Ink Capacity: The PCH92 holds a very good amount of ink. 1.2-1.3ML I think. Plenty for my journal writing. It may not be enough if you write for hours on end but I think it's more than adequate for most. 4.5/5 (only because there are pens that hold more) Nib performance: The FM writes incredible smooth and noticeably thicker than the F nib. The smoke black pen originally had a FM nib on it but I swapped it with the F nib on the orange. Why? FM is just a little too wet and thick for my small writing (with Iroshizuku Take-Sumi). Even on Rhodia paper I just didn't like the way the black ink looked. Swapping it to the F worked out great. FM on the orange pen with Diamine Oxblood is a good combination. Even with my small handwriting it still exhibits some shading and stands out with the slightly thicker lines. Same with the blue one which I inked with Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. Kon-Peki shades even better and looks amazing. I would describe the FM nib as buttery smooth. Equally as smooth as my Lamy 2000 in EF which writes more like a Japanese FM. The F nib writes very smooth as well but has the slightest hint of feedback on Rhodia paper. It makes a slightly more audible scratchy sound as you write with it although the feel is not actually scratchy. Both these nibs are slightly more soft than my steel TWSBI nibs. I wouldn't classify them as actually soft nibs so much as they have noticeable give compared to my steel nibs. I'm very happy with how all 3 nibs write out of the box. Ink flow with Iroshizuku ink is wet. And like I said, it was a little too wet for my taste with Iroshizuku Take-Sumi with a FM nib. 5/5 for the FM 4.5/5 for the F Overall Impressions: These pens retail for $220 in the US. At that price point I'd say they're still good for the writing experience. It's a well constructed demonstrator and significantly more affordable than something comparable from Sailor. At the normal $130 eBay price, these pens are a great value. They have great 14k nibs and they're piston fillers. It's hard to ask for much more in this price range. 5/5 overall Packaging: Nothing special http://i.imgur.com/T4hkVJm.jpg The Pens: inside a Nockco Lookout http://i.imgur.com/uOb3RYX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/S3MJcT4.jpg The nibs (F vs FM): Top http://i.imgur.com/COX4W35.jpg Bottom http://i.imgur.com/lPkgXvE.jpg Writing samples: http://i.imgur.com/tMHZOC9.jpg Bonus: Circle of Write. 7. So... I purchased a Senator fountain pen online because the damn things are just awesome for the price. BUT, this one has a loose filler knob under the blind cap, and has begun leaking ink around the piston, into the back of the pen, and out at the loose filler knob. I'm baffled. I pulled the nib out, tried to flush the pen out (but that is difficult considering there is ink behind the piston which is now leaking towards the ink chamber. Is there a way to remove and .. I dunno, "fluff up" the edge of the piston? or put a glob of silicone grease in it? I can't tell where you would disassemble the body of the pen further. Anyone got ideas?
  8. I wom this pen on e-bay this week-end, and it is proving to be a nice wee writer. Unfortunately, the badge or jewell that may have been on the cap has been detatched and there are no markings on the pen to indicate where it is from. It is resin/plastic or acryllic, there is an ink window, and it is a piston filler (which initally made me think of Pelikan). It is a push cap - and the section where the cap fits is crenelated. It also has a hooded nib, and all the images catalogues I've looked through do not show a Pelikan with a hooded nib - so it may not be a Pelikan. Another candidate may an Aurora 88, but I doubt it as the colours on the band don't match. The pen is a bit beat up - which indicates it was well used, so I'm thinking it's probably not the top of the range. Does any one have any thoughts? (The ink is Diamine's Velvet Blue)

    Tropen Scholar Piston Removal

Short version: Do any of you fine ladies or gentlemen know how to safely remove the piston assembly of a mid-50s (I'm guessing) Tropen Scholar? Unscrew? Friction fit? Sealed for all eternity and I'm all out of luck? Longer version: This is asked more in hope than expectation - searches found a couple of threads where this was asked and not answered, but hey, third time lucky... I have recently acquired a Tropen Scholar piston filler, and despite early happiness that the thing was taking up ink like a thirsty camel at an oasis, my Serenity Blue thumb and forefinger have established that it is, in fact, leaking ink behind the piston and, joy, into the blind cap. Now it may well be that I can't acquire or adapt a solution to solve this, but I'm pretty sure I can't get anywhere unless I can remove the piston assembly to actually get at it. It looks like it must be screwed in, but some gentle application of heat and a suitably padded Bionic Wrench didn't seem to be getting anywhere, and obviously I'm reluctant to push it when I don't even know if that's actually how it's fitted. Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Al
  11. I bought my first 'Guru' from Fountain Pen Revolution soon after it was released, but never got around to writing a review - basically because a few other people beat me to it, and I agreed with their assessments of the pen. A cheap pen, a great buy for the money - but what was with that clip? It looked like it had been gnawed at by rats on the slow boat from India - if such a thing were possible! I'm putting up this post now, though, because of a few developments with the pen, that I think (if possible) make it an even better deal - and because I recently received 3 new ones, bringing my total to 6, four purchased outright, and 2 that came free with the new pen pouches I purchased (more on those another time, maybe). DISCLAIMER: I was not compensated in any way for putting up this post, and paid for all these pens myself (except the two that were part of the pen pouch promotion, available to all customers). My first 2 Gurus were clear demonstrator models - you'll see in the picture below, one of them became badly discoloured by an experimental ink I filled it with (oops!), but otherwise it's fine. I purchased a blue model about 3 months ago (with a B nib), and a black model about two weeks ago - but as I mentioned, a couple of free Gurus (one blue, one black) came with the order. http://i.imgur.com/R0NF2m5.jpg So, what do I like about these pens? First, the fact that they're cheap - dirt cheap - and yet they look reasonable and write really well. If I remember correctly, these pens were commissioned from Serwex, based on an existing design (the Serwex 162? or the 1362?? I can't remember!), but with some minor modifications and improvements. At present they're only available in these three colour options - that may possibly change in future, but (I suspect) only if there's sufficient demand. Second, they're piston-fillers - the mechanism works well and can be completely disassembled for cleaning and/or trouble-shooting: http://i.imgur.com/02NO5Rp.jpg Thirdly, I like the fact that these pens use an ebonite feed, which can be heat set and/or tweaked to improve performance, far more easily than the plastic feeds that come on the more expensive FPR pens. Fourthly, I like the nibs - the original #5 FPR nibs in Extra Fine, Fine, Fine Stub ($3 extra), Medium, Broad ($3 extra) and flex ($3 extra). These nibs have changed their appearance over the past couple of years, from a plain matte finish (see the above photo) to a more adorned nib which (often but not always) has a nib designation inscribed on it (EF, F, M etc). If you look closely, you'll notice that the black pen above has a different nib - order one of these pens with a flex nib, and the newer #5.5 version (in stainless steel) now comes standard on the pen. The feed is also custom-set to enhance ink flow, if you order with a flex nib. Finally, I'll mention the improvements / updates that make this pen an even better buy. The clip has been replaced with a newer version - a larger, sturdier, less mangled-looking clip, that improves dramatically the appearance of the pen (see below). It's also less likely to bend out of shape and/or snap. Also, you can now buy loose nibs AND FEEDS for these pens, to allow even more tinkering. Ruined your feed trying to improve flow? No worries - for $3 (I think) plus postage, you can order a replacement... http://i.imgur.com/e5Up0sX.jpg The Indus pen that I reviewed the other day is a much classier looking pen, probably made of more durable materials, certainly more attractive plastic / acrylic - but I've grown really fond of my Gurus in the time that I've been using (and collecting) them. They're inexpensive, reliable, fun to play with (I've swapped the clips around so that in each colour I have one pen with an older clip, one with the new)... And at $9 (plus $3 for a nib upgrade) you won't weep too many bitter tears if you break or lose them.
  12. I feel a certain pleasure and pride in introducing and reviewing Click Pure Crystal. For quite some time I have been searching for affordable "made in India" fountain pens, I could recommend to anyone. I guess I have found one more such pen. I have been using this pen for three days and without a glitch. As you can notice, the pen is fully transparent. The gold-colored clip and cap ring give the pen a classy appeal. Perhaps its me, but the design of the clip is coolest thing about this pen. The clip reminds me of Egypt, Pharaohs and Pyramids. The golden aura of the pen matches with the dual tone nib. Inner rings of the piston look like whirlpools and threads give me a feel of sporadic clouds in an otherwise clear sky. It is a pen I wouldn't be ashamed of carrying. The pen weighs around 14 grams. Which is fairly light. The body is made of transparent resin. The great thing is that there wasn't any of that obnoxious odor of resin, unless the pen was smelled from very close quarters. I feel that the pen can be fully disassembled, though I couldn't dare to try it. I don't want a blot on this beauty. Close inspection of section also reveals that the pen boasts of a threaded nib unit. Nib is a dual tone one marked with sagacious words,'Iridium Point Germany'. Section ends with a gold ring and immediately the nib starts. The finish of the pen is really good for its price. What startled me is the fact that apparently a good amount of brainstorming has gone in designing this pen. Take for example the fact that the pen comes out in merely two turns. Or the fact that the cap posts very securely. Or the good news that they have made the section substantially thicker than Pilot 78G or the Chelpark Sona or Click Majestic Crystal. Thicker section ensures a comfortable grip and the fact that the pen allows secure posting further permits the pen to be used by hands of every size. The pen writes an Indian fine. It lays down a smooth and wet line. There is a little drag but my experience suggests that it will go away. The thicker section and smooth transition from body to the section with light weight makes this pen a delight to hold and write with. The piston filler mechanism means that the pen can hold a decent amount of ink that will last far more pages than a cartridge. I was happy to see a plastic finned feed rather than an Ebonite feed. It means that the feed will offer good buffer and there won't be problems of burping and leaking. I used this pen with Click Majestic Crystal which has an ebonite feed. At the end of the day where the Majestic's cap was smeared with ink, the Pure Crystal's cap was as clean as glass. Moreover, I didn't see any cap hole. No drying! That's good! Overall for a pen that costs less than say 5$ it is a really good value for money. It is in same league with Camlin Elegante and Chelpark Sona and better than many other costlier mass-produced fountain pens. If you want a fine piece of Indian Fountain Penmanship with very little strain on your pocket then gooooooooooo for it!!! You can find this review and more such reviews on my blog. Good day!!

    Very Stiff Aurora 88 Piston

I recently acquired a 1950s vintage Aurora 88. The pen is in good shape overall and I would like to press it into service. However, the piston turning knob is incredibly stiff. So stiff that I thought it was jammed. With increasing pressure, I was able to move it, but stopped. I'm afraid of stressing the piston rod or stripping threads, etc... If it was a modern pen, I would think to apply silicone grease. Is that appropriate for this pen? If so, how do you get the grease to where it needs to be? Thanks in advance for your help!
  14. The pen I am reviewing today and actually using for quite long is Wality 52 PD. And this is my every day carry (edc) pen. Th detailed review of same with the handwritten samples and size comparison can be found on my blog here. Wality 52 PD This is actually the second Wality pen I bought after Wality 69 A, because i liked the way 69 A wrote. Wality pens are manufactured by Airmail Pen Company based out of Mumbai, India. Like 90% of my pens this pen also was procured from ASAPENS also. It is also available at Fountain Pen Revolution albeit at Higher price. Design: This pen arrived along with my other Wality pens like 71JT, 70 AM and Pilot 78G BB Nib. This actually is my second Wality pen and it happens to be a piston filler. It comes in variety of colors like green, teal, burgundy, blue and black. Wality 52 PD - Uncapped Like my previous Wality pen this also gives a certain pungent odor and from what i have come to know is that they they have used a LDPE plastic, which smells a bit. I washed it with detergent water and also kept it overnight in detergent water but still a faint smell persists which now at the time of writing review has subdued. The pen is a classic design and has an amazing build quality for an inexpensive pen. Unlike many Chinese pens (no offence) this pen has a certain character and recall value. Classic Design with matte finished silver cap and clip inspired from the skyline series. And has that feel and character to it which makes it my EDC pen. Wality 52 PD - Classic Vintage Look The pen actually feels quite solid in hand and has certain heft to it. The cap top and bottom of pen are rounded and pen itself is quite straight without any tapering towards bottom or top. Rounded top and bottom The Nib is monotone gold colored and the cap has inner lining of plastic and actually the matte silver metal is molded with the plastic. Also there is a inner plastic lining to prevent ink drying. Metal matte silver finish cap molded with plastic cap Nib is Monotone - Gold Color The pen cap open in 2 1/2 turns. The Clip is also silver colored and quite sturdy and springy at the same time. No complaints whatsoever in those regards. Wality 52 PD - Close up of Cap Wality 52 PD - Clip Wality 52 PD - Inner cap lining There is an ink window on the barrel just below the threads which actually is beneficial to get the idea of ink levels. Wality 52 PD - Ink Window This piston filler mechanism at the bottom is separated from main barrel via a silver colored 'O' ring. This retro look classic design pen is built for lifetime and rough tough usage. Full marks to the build quality. Further details and images available here @ MY BLOG

The Fpr Indus : A Short Review

I won a Facebook contest organized by Kevin over at Fountain Pen Revolution. The participants had to "like" FPR’s new pen and suggest its name to enter the contest. The name chosen by a majority of participants is the Indus and a few of us were lucky enough to receive the pen, which at this time is not yet for sale. As I got the pen for free in a contest, it seemed like I had to post a review. Overview The pen is made of plastic and it will be available in four colors. I got the black one. This is an all-plastic piston filler. For those of you familiar with their collection, it is about in the same range as their Dilli pen. It is very light and the plastic is not the highest grade; I don’t think it would survive a fall on a concrete floor. But this is a budget pen and I would not expect it to find its way into the hands of my great grandchildren. Perhaps it will take the place of the Dilli in Fpr’s lineup. Time will tell. It seems like a better pen than the Dilli – this is obviously subjective, the Indus just sits better in my hand. It also seems like a better design. I doesn’t look as cheap as the Dilli does. The only real downside is the clip. You will rip your shirt pocket if you use the clip. It is TIGHT. I don’t use the clips on my pens. Not a problem for me. The pen is very light light. It measures 13.2 cm and 12.4 cm unposted. The cap screws on. It can be posted, but the threads inside the cap seem to rub onto the piston knob and it makes a strange noise when you secure the cap to the end of the pen. It you’ve tried their Dilli model, it’s the same sound. It’s not a big deal. The pen measures 15 cm when posted. Filling mechanism This is a piston filler. The knob at the end of the pen is the actual twisting knob, not a blind cap. I haven’t yet tried to disassemble the pen, so I don’t know it the piston can be completely removed or not. The pen sports an ink window, which is not visible in the photos as the pen is currently filled with Diamine Eclipse. It contains a good amount of ink, as expected. It works well. The nib Our Indian friends here on fpn will notice the pen sports the same looks as the Oliver Tulip and the Click Tulip. It appears to be the same model. The difference is the nib. This Indus sports an FPR nib. Mine is a medium. I think the pen will be available in fine, medium, broad and stub nibs. Maybe with their flex nibs as well, I’m not sure. The feed is plastic and the nib lays down a western medium line, as expected. The nib is rigid and has little line variation, unless you really bear down on it. I do not mind this as I don’t expect springiness in every pen I try or own. I’ve experienced some startup issues, but it should be noted I filled the pen without cleaning it, as one normally should. I do not expect this to be a problem in the long run. In conclusion, this is a no-frills, nice looking, piston-filled fountain pen with a steel nib. It works well and it does what it's supposed to do. Works for me.

    Click Majestic Pen Review

Unique Pens recently came out with new fountain pen which is a quite subtle design. I quickly grabbed the pen as soon as Mr. Subramanian of ASA Pens shared the image of the same with me. Below is my review of the pen which i have been using for past 2 weeks. Click Piston Filler Design & Built: I purely bought this pen for its looks and after my first demonstrator which was Galactic, i wanted to explore the territory of demonstrator pens. This pen is a small sized sleek piston filler pen. It comes in 5 translucent colors, Clear, Blue, Red, Green, & Brown. Out of all those Clear looks the best because it shows you the actual color of the ink sloshing inside the pen. It also comes in solid colors by the name of Tulip. The pen is made of ABS plastic which is quite okay. it is an elegantly designed little pen which will be suitable for people with small and regular size hands. The pen is prone to smudges if you have oily hands. Click Majestic - Uncapped The cap has metal gold plated crown shaped cap which is quite firmly placed on top of cap. Top of Cap There is center band with 2 grooves also running around again in golden color. There is also inner lining of plastic inside the cap, probably to keep ink from drying out. Click Majestic - Cap with Gold plated clip The pen opens in 2-3 turns and top of grip section also has gold plated metal ring which ads to the beauty of pen. The only let down i see the gold paint over the engraving done at the barrel which doesn't appeal to me. Barrel and Piston Filling Mechanism Also in above image you might see one more gold plated band which separates the barrel section from the piston filling mechanism. I must tell you that i love the piston filling mechanism better than eyedropper. This pen can be easily cleaned as it can be easily dismantled into individual parts. The build quality of pen is just okay as the ABS plastic used looks flimsy even though it might take lot of falls and has certain bit of flexibility also. It gives you a feel that if you try to manhandle the pen it will come apart. So i did not messed around with the pen. Uncapped Pen Close up of cap opening and Nib Would request you to please go further on webpage CLICK MAJESTIC for detailed review including handwritten review and samples.
  17. At our latest meeting of the Vancouver Pen Club in Vancouver, BC, Canada, we were delighted with the work of three of our members in creating and delivering and exceptional limited edition fountain pen from Italian masters: Delta Pen. The intrepid Glenn Marcus, Perks Pens owner Richard Clarke, and Maja Furlong conspired long and hard to make this a reality: Vancouver Pen Club's first limited edition member's pen. The VPC Delta Dolcevita is a piston filling celluloid fountain pen in brown marble with gold accents and a Delta Fusion nib. Mine is a broad stub. The celluloid was a leftover from the Caruso series (hence the name), and was, I believe just enough to complete the order of 25 numbered pens. It's a rich brown with lustrous, almost golden marbling. The gold trim beautifully accents the body, and the roller clip and VPC crown just take it over the top. The Delta Fusion nib is a steel nib with and 18k solid gold overlay, making it a real stunner to the eye and an absolute beauty on the page. Like silk on skin it caresses the paper with a lightness that's almost imperceptible. The piston filling system has a ratchet that subtly informs you when you reach the maximum stroke. Other pens often have no ratchet; leaving you to guess (sometimes treacherously), or have a ratchet that screams at you like a wounded crow. Weight and balance are in perfect sync and it measures out at a respectable 140x12mm, capped. Unfortunately, this was a one time, very limited buy; so you won't see these on the market but Delta is still making the Dolcevita with the Fusion nib in many incarnations and I only hope you get to spend one warm spring evening with one of these beauties and a ream of good paper.

    Pelikan 400: What To Do?

Hello everybody! today, I've got my first Pelikan 400. It's a model from the 1950s with an OB nib. In principle I'm not to favourable to O nibs, but this pen was too beautiful. I'm now wondering what I should do first, because I almost don't there to touch it. Should I fill the reservoir with lukewarm water before using it? Thanks for your experienced suggestions!

  21. Hi Today saw a well packaged pen arrive via the "Bay". I took a chance on an unknown brand (to me) that looked interesting and a low starting price. It was untested as I think that the seller might not be familiar with a piston filler. This turned out to be a Geha 722. It shows no evidence of ink in the windows and a flush of water brought only enough ink to indicate a possible dip test. Sticker shows Fine for the nib. Can anyone date this pen please? I think I want to try this with a bright red ink. Any suggestions for a good red? (other than a Shiraz) I have tried to do the nib justice with a small compact camera. Why does it take 87 photos to get some decent shots? Enjoy the nib art. Oh! The price £3.99 and free p&p!!!! I feel almost guilty paying so little. K
  22. Does anyone know what kind of pen this is? It is 12 cm long uncapped. The cap says Conway Stewart on the clip, but it does not fit, and I doubt it was original. The pen is 12 cm long with a distinctive ink window and a hooded nib. It resisted taking apart, and I did not force it. It is a piston filler with blind cap covering the screw mechanism. The knob of the cap is set a bit off center, and moves what looks to be a white plastic piston. It works, or at least it draws water. The only marking on the pen is 732M incised on the barrel just above the blind cap. Attached are three pictures.
