  1. This is my first Japanese pen - The Custom Heritage 92 in Blue. Surely there are quite a lot of blue demonstrators in the market, but the CH92 wins in my world. The nib F - 14K gold - #5 nib, chrome plated very decent and good-looking. (not very wet) The Japanese nib is comparatively finer for the reason of writing Chinese characters. (because it is not possible to write small Chinese words in a B, a stub, or an italic nib) So as the nib is small and is in F, it needs a smooth ink, I tried Diamine before, seems a bit scratchy (or too much feedback?) When it is stuff with Iroshijuku Ama-Iro (Perfect match!), the feeling is much better. (Ama-Iro means: The colour of the sky, probably daytime) Overall Well made, Sapphire demonstrator with chrome plated details, the colour way I can't resist. A medium size piston filler. Well balanced when capped (maybe too light if uncapped) Write well even in fast writing, good for EDC. No skipping nor hard starter problems. I directly ordered from Japan, good price.
  2. Hello! I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this. If it's not, I apologise. I'm very new to FPN. Still figuring things out I suppose! Anyways, I want to get myself a Pilot CH91 or 92 for my birthday this month. I'm not actually looking to buy a 74, but I thought I'd put it in the title as well since it's a more popular pen than the 91 and 92, and it uses the same nib section. Like the title says: I'm looking for a permanent ink that flows well in any of the aforementioned pens. I currently don't have any inks that are even remotely waterproof (mostly Waterman and Pelikan 4001s). I'd like to have some permanent inks for daily carry. I'm currently looking at buying Noodler's Black, KWZ Iron Gall Mandarin and KWZ Iron Gall Turquoise. I'll probably put the Iron Galls in my Parker 45 mostly, and the Noodler's was the permanent ink I was thinking I'd get for the 92. However, I've heard people have had some flow issues with this ink. If anyone has tried the KWZ IGs in their Pilots, I'd also be interested in knowing your experiences. I'll definitely get a bottle of Pilot Blue Black as well, but it's not really permanent. Do you have any suggestions for a permanent ink that will flow well in a Pilot 74/91/92? Preferably a blue black or a black. Also, do you have any experience with KWZ IG and Noodler's Black in a Pilot? Would you say they are a good match? I'd be so grateful if you guys can help me find the right ink. I have no experience with either Pilot pens or permanent inks, and as you know there are so many inks to choose from. I just have no idea what to pick! Initially I just wanted to go with Noodler's, because it's both permanent and I think a wet ink, which I thought would go well with the drier Pilot. Thanks
  3. Hello all! I have a vexing question. How do people trade pens over the internet? I bought a clear Pilot Custom Heritage 92 with a Fine nib from a reputable ebay seller in Japan. However, I'm now over my love affair with clear demonstrators and badly want to get a colored version of the C92 with a Medium nib. I've never seen a smoke or blue colored C92 on classifieds within the $135 I paid for mine and I haven't been able to snipe a C74/C91 off of ebay (*to change the medium nib) without enough margin to break even when I inevitably sell off the other pen. So comes the conundrum If I can't sell and buy, how do I trade my pen for one that I want? Post a wanted ad in the classifieds and hope? When I buy a pen from a member, I have a chance to recoup my loss via Paypal if things go south. How do total strangers establish enough trust to send each other pens through the mail? Any suggestions? I know this is a slightly dumb question to ask but I think others might be wondering the same thing...
