  1. Today I'm reviewing Pelikan Edelstein Olivine ink - Pelikan Edelstein Ink of the Year 2018 Pelikan Edelstein Olivine is a dark green dye based ink, that leans quite blue. It could be used as a standard daily green ink. I agree with other reviewers when they say it isn't necessarily the Olivine shade we were expecting, and I wish it had been less blue and more yellow, but as it is, it's still a very nice ink to use. I find all of the Edelstein inks I've tried to be very nicely lubricated inks that flow very well across the page. I had no flow problems with Olivine. No difficult starts or skips. I found it flowed very well in the pens I used it with and I saw plenty of shading particularly with broader nibs. It looked more saturated with my Pelikan Go! B nib. Lubrication was good enough, and it felt smooth writing across some of the papers I used. Flow Rate: Very good. A little slow to dry.Lubrication: Good.Nib Dry-out: Not noticed.Start-up: Immediate.Saturation: A saturated ink.Shading Potential: Some shading seen.Sheen: None seen.Show-Through:Apica PaperTomoe River 52gsmSilvine lined padOxford lined padField NotesRoyal recycledHobonichi TechoSpread / Feathering / Woolly Line: Not seen.Nib Creep / Crud: Not seen, even after over 1 week in the penStaining (pen): Not seen after several days in the pen - easy clean-up with water.Staining (hands): Clean-up needs at least 2 washes with bar soap.Clogging: Not seen. Seems unlikely.Water resistance: Not sold as waterproof and has little water resistance.Availability: Available in 50ml glass bottles from many outlets.
  2. Hi everyone, Does any of you know of a dark, well-behaved, black ink that is common and easy to find and slightly wetter than Pelikan. I don't want anything as wet as say Aurora Black or J. Herbin Perle Noire, although I love those blacks. I just need something that will make my pen work just a little better because I am in between being too wet on some papers and too dry on others. I already tried Noodler's Black so I'm looking for something different. Thank you all very much in advance, 3nding
  3. Quick little review of my new Franklin-Christoph Model 03. I usually get fine or extra-fine nibs but oh man! Im loving this broad! Pen - Franklin-Christoph Model 03 Ghost &Smoke Nib - Matsuyama Broad Cursive Italic Ink - Pelikan Edelstein Aventurine Enjoy -240KAR
  4. Following my review for Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine, this is my review of another newly released Pelikan ink from the 4001 range: Pelikan Dark Green. I find it a dark green with slight blue undertones. Certainly not a teal like Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine. More like the colour of Pine tree needles. It reminded me of Montblanc White Forest as soon as I wrote with it, and sure enough it is very similar to that very nice but no longer available 'Seasons greetings' ink. So if you have a hankering for Montblanc White Forest, then Pelikan Dark Green will make a good substitute for it. I found this a slightly drier ink than the Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine, and it dried on my thick, smooth paper in about half of the time. However, it still flowed well enough in my pens to look quite a bit darker when I used broader nibs. It shows some shading and is saturated. It stained my fingers for a while, and that tends to be the case with these dark green/blue inks. I forgot all about the water test so the ink was covered in water for about 20minutes. I can clearly see there are dark grey/black remains. So it has good water resistance. I like dark blue-greens like this, so it gets a thumbs up from me.

possibly a bit ambitious with that name! This is a mix made from an unknown proportion (probably about 3+:1 though, mixed it by eye/feel in the pen itself when drawing the ink up) of Waterman's Purple and Cross Black (rebranded Pelikan, according to the internet) It seems to be a dark purple, with some (a lot? not a lot? i have no clue! tell me about it) shading here are some images (click for hi res) All done with a Nooder's Creaper, with a cameo from a Pilot Parallel, my ackermann pump pen has been slightly stolen by a close friend for now I don't think the proportion actually matters that much, since there is a pretty wildly different one in the Parallel than the Creaper but it seems to have the pretty much the same colour and response paper was from 80gsm cheap staples notebook thing aman x
  6. hello everyone! I am encountering a problem with my pelikan brilliant red ink..i see some white debris floating around inside the ink which sediment at the bottom after about an hour of stagnation. i am not sure whether it is some pigment issue or is it really contaminated. i bought the ink about 4-5 months ago and have used it once. any ideas? http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5518/9327962522_75aaacf99c_z.jpg C360_2013-07-20-18-23-13-037 by deathadder_44, on Flickr
