  1. Greetings, fountain friends, I’ve been an offline observer to this wonderful community for some time now, and it has influenced me in many of my pen decisions and handwriting expansions. I'm an Irish doctor working in England, and in my spare time, I am a keen German language user, chess player, philosophy and psychology enthusiast, and now beginning to dabble in the world of writing. I’d like to begin to give back with my own opinion regarding an undoubtedly biased view on my favourite fountain pen purchase to date – the Lamy 2000M Stainless Steel (my model is a fine nib, and I like to rota
  2. So, a lot of people have received the Noodler's free pen, either a platinum preppie or a "Charlie" and claim to hate them. I've read this in numerous reviews and posts, yet I have been enjoying the Charlie pen and other free noodler's pens. So I wanted to ask. What are your thoughts on the Noodler's free pen or pens you have and do you use them? I have 1 Charlie and 1 Preppie and enjoy using both. So please, let your thoughts be known on this. To make it easy for others viewing your own thoughts and reviews try the following format. Do you use it or not? Like it? love it? Hate it? Which one(

    Lamy 2000S Are Overrated...

I personally feel that the Lamy 2000 is overrated. I bought one early this year, and my 6 months so far with it haven't been ideal. I instantly dismissed two as potention choices,as one had a very bent nib,and the other had tines so misaligned that I could see then without focusing. The two left were mostly ok. One had what appeared to be a factory defect on the white dot at the end of the piston knob though. I chose the only one without any damage, and bought it
  4. I just received a Parker soft grip that I ordered from eBay. I have found this pen to be a hard starter. It came with one parker cartridge. I am thinking of going to a converter on it, but I am unsure of putting more money in a pen that, to me, is very light and not a great writer. I want to try some Noodler's or J. Herbin ink, so I know a converter would allow that; but I am wondering if I would be better served with maybe a Lamy Safari or some such to launch my exploration in. I intend to grab a Platinum Preppy and convert it to an eyedropper pen, but I want to get something decent to w
  5. There have been many Sheaffer re-issues all the way from PFMs to Balances. Which is the best and why ?
