Broad,, Medium, Fine Nib Sir? NO THANKS! - will be the answer that follows. No longer will these nibs be looked at, due to John Hall(A true honor meeting this gentleman. Delightful & Outstanding customer service) here in the UK. At the recent North UK pen show I acquired a OMAS Arco Verde, hi trim with an italic nib. There lies the culprit, the OMAS Italic nib. I have not been able to put the pen down, by no means am I an expert on using this type of nib. But with practice have used this pen and can now write with certain amount of speed! Still little scratchy on paper but only when I mistakenly change angle of nib. My Question: The love affair has started hehe. I am currently deciding do I go for a OMAS Stub Nib OR Visconti Stub Nib? Any suggestions? Anyone with experience of both nibs? Could someone point in right direction to see writing samples for both nibs? Help! Thanks rrs.

What kind of service do Bock provide? It seems like so many pen makers use Bock nibs, yet so many reviews also comment of the various properties of company specific features like the "conway stewart", or "Visconti" feel of a nib. Surely, nib material aside; Bock made nibs must be fairly similar to each other?! That is unless of course, that Bock provide some kind of consulting process in which the pen maker brings what they want, which Bock then go on to manufacture. Any thoughts or insights?

Hi All, After much internal debate, I've decided to buy myself a rather expensive pen. But you see, I can't decide which one. I know that I want an Italian pen. I wanted to know which one you guys think is better, the Visconti Homo Sapiens or the OMAS Arte Italina Noir. I also wondered if you guys could provide pictures of these pens for size comparison. This is a large purchase for me, so I want to do it right the first time. I have the option of getting the Maxi or the Midi in the Visconti, and I am a bit worried about the nib size in the Midi as it is a number 4. The Arte Italina Noir is the Milord size, but I can't seem to find pictures of it anywhere at all. I know that they only made 331 of the Milord, but someone has to have one. Thanks!

So I've decided to buy myself a birthday pen, but my dilemma is choosing what pen. So I've decided to enlist the help of the FPN board members and base my decision upon your recommendation's. I've narrowed it down between 10 pens of which to choose from. Franklin Christoph Model 66 Stabillis .9mm MM custom Stub ~$169.50 I just can't decide between these pens! I want them all! But alas I cannot afford that. In terms of pens I already own, I have an Edison Collier in silver marble, a Sailor 1911m clear and gold (These two happen to be my favorite pens, despite the massive size differences),Pelikan M600 EF in blue, a Montblanc 144 Black/Gold M-B, a TWSBI Diamond 540 EF, and a TWSBI Vac 700 EF in blue. I think I have plenty of blue and EF pens for now, and my goal up to now is to diversify my pen collection. I really like the OMAS. I really wanted an Italian pen, so the Delta, OMAS, and Stipula seem to be the most likely options for now. FYI: It will be my 15th birthday, so I want to make it a good and memorable pen. (* indicates pens I will most likely purchase at the time of this post, subject to change) EDIT: I should mention that the purchase date is later in August

I have an Omas Arte Italliane that I purchased new from Artlite in Atlanta. She's beautiful and I really love the way it writes. Unfortunately, every single time I unscrew the cap, there is ink on the nib and around where I typically hold it. It doesn't fail. I've been really careful to make sure I'm not twisting the piston, and yet, it still occurs. This is my first piston pen but I imagine it isn't normal. Note: It's filled currently with Private Reserve Sherwood Green. Here is a picture of what it looks like when I unscrew it. I can clean it, and by several hours later, it'll be back to looking like this.
