  1. I want to convert my Platinum Preppy to an eyedropper pen. Its threads are too coarse to be sealed by silicone grease alone so an O-ring must be added to make an airtight seal. The problem is I have been unable to find O-rings for a reasonable price. I tried to find them over the internet but either 1) they cost far too much 2) are out of stock 3) are not of the appropriate size. None of my local hardware stores seem to have them, also tried the plumbing store and the motorcycle repair shop. Did anybody have better luck finding O-rings ?

Opus 88 Internal O Ring Specs

Hello I was cleaning my Opus 88 demonstrator and managed to drop down the drain the internal o ring that seats at the end of nib unit and seals with the rod in the barrel. Would some kind soul please post the dimensions for said o ring. I've seen an approximation of .25" outer diameter/.125" inner diameter. Thank you so much! Cheers Scott

    Twsbi Diamond 580 'o's ?

Hi there, Apologies in advance for such a silly question! I have had a TWSBI diamond 580 for a while and was giving it a good clean the other day - you know, nib/section unscrewed and shaking the water out of the piston etc. - when I had a horrible thought that there might have been an 'O' ring in there somewhere. I looked on the floor but found nothing - if it was there, it could have gone down the plughole in sink, bath or worse! Now looking at the updated diagram of the 580 as supplied clearly shows 3 'o'-rings. http://www.peggysparlour.co.uk/pubpics/twsbi580-1.jpg Mine now does not have an 'o' ring immediately behind the feed where it connects to the piston reservoir. This is most likely 'o'-ring 3 in the diagram, albeit when in working position, it is to the left of 'o'-ring 7 on the inside. (It has the other 2 'o'-rings though; on the body and under the metal nib ring). http://www.peggysparlour.co.uk/pubpics/twsbi580.jpg My question is - Is the 'o'-ring at the union of the end of the black feed to the clear plastic piston body actually necessary or actually ever present? (If I need one where can I get one?) Clearly, I do not want to be in the situation where everything starts leaking all over the place in an important meeting etc! Happy New Year all. Eclectica

    Twsbi Vac700 Vacuum Filler Question

I ordered a TWSBI Vac700 and I have a question about the vacuum filler mechanism. More specifically about the removal of the o-ring as demonstrated by Brian Goulet. Has anyone done this? I'm interested whether there are any (negative) long term consequences? Excessive nib creep? Very wet writing? Leaks? And so on...
