    Caran D'ache Ecridor Nib Removal

Hi all, many years ago I gifted my father with a Caran d'Ache Ecridor, which he's probably never correctly cleaned. As expected, he's been experiencing many problems with the ink flow. He's now tasked me with fixing all his flow troubles. Anyway, I'd like to remove the nib (if possible) and thoroughly clean his pen but I've been unable to find any information regarding the removal of an Ecridor nib. Does anyone out there know how the nib is held in the feed? Is this a single unit that Caran d'Ache wants customers to replace as opposed to fix? If there are any workarounds I'd be very grateful to hear them. And if this topic has been explored already in some far-off corner of the FPN, please forgive me. I did some searching but couldn't find anything with an answer to my question. Thanks in advance for any Ecridor nib-removal advice!

    Edc/edw Care

Hi Everyone, A while back, with the help of fellow members, I got a Pilot Metro fountain pen and Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher. I use this pen as an everyday carry/writer and found that, like other pens that I used to own, the nib keeps accumulating ink on the top and sides. First, am I experience normal fountain behavior, and second, should I keep the nib clean or just let it be? Thanks for all responses.

    How To Clean Calligraphy Nibs

I am left handed. I just purchased a holder from Speedball and several left handed nibs. What I noticed, and I must admit my exclusive Calligraphy ink being used is red, it is staining the nib itself. So far, I do not seem to be able to clean the nib and remove the ink from the nib being used. It this normal? Is there something special used in order to remove ink from a calligraphy nib? I am just afraid that as I use the nib, it will end up being gunky and start failing to produce anything reconizable as I practice.
  5. Today, I disassemble my TWSBI mini to clean the nib. It was my first time, the water pressure was too strong, my nib went straight into the sink, I thought I share with you guys as a reminder.
