  1. Hey there! I am looking to buy my first fountain and I am looking at these three options. However, I do not know which is best for me. I am a student in high school that will take notes, and will be ordering from either jetpens or amazon. Also, should I buy two fountain pens? p.s. feel free to add other suggestions for a first fountain pen
  2. Recently I was looking at some of my pens, and realized I have a few I don't use a whole lot. After giving it some thought, I thought I would give a chance to some of the newer members here a chance to acquire this. This is for my Cross Aventura, with a Medium nib and converter. It is a very nice writer and looks good, it just doesn't get the use it deserves. Like I said, I want this to go to a newer member here. Requirements: Must be a Gold Member (minimum of 30 posts and here at least 30 days) but have less than 100 posts when it closes. However it will be open worldwide - CONUS gets free shipping, elsewhere pays the difference between the two. Entries will be open until 8:00 pm MDT July 15/2:00 am UTC/GMT July 16. I will use a random number generator to pick the winner and announce that weekend. http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af283/Runnin_Ute/Fountain%20Pens/Aventura_zpsbby00tm0.jpg (photo from Cross website)
  3. All done with the acronyms for the moment. Up for PIF: This cute little Sheaffer VFM, matte black, with box. The metal-bodied pen has a medium nib and does not take Sheaffer cartridges, but rather standard international cartridges, one included. Surprise ink samples also included. CONUS only, please, and only fountain pen newbies. Anyone who has previously won a PIF from me, kindly sit this out. Thanks. Will leave this PIF open until Monday Dec. 14, 6 PM EST. Oops, there I go with the acronyms again!
  4. I know it is hard to do your own work. Every so often, some one puts up a "tell me what fountain pen I need" topic. Or has a problem such as, "My pen is broken, how do I fix it?" So, such topics are a request for help. Without enough information for FPN'ers to reply. Then, the new member gets the impression that FPN isn't very helpful. Not true, many of our members are great at helping with a problem. If they can see what the problem is. Or if it's apparent that the questioner is aware enough to understand the answer. So please, questioners, give us questionees a break. Do some research on the threads. Read a few reviews. And ask well-formulated questions. Love having you here, hope you contribute often. And, if properly formulated, that question you ask -- and the answer -- may help you and many another member.
