Montegrappa has announced 2 people for their Icons LE pens. References in each pen to the persons field. On top of that 2 versions for each person they honor. Hello all, So this is my first post. I bought a pen from Amazon's discount site, MyHabit, almost a full year ago now. I tried to find the correct cartridge for this pen. I tried two or three different cartridges to no avail back then. I gave up and frankly do not remember what cartridges I tried. The little empty sleeve that came inside the pen says "Lady Austria" on it. And MyHabit listed it as a Montegrappa pen, but it does not particular look similar to anything in their line from what I can tell. It should be noted that I am very new to fountain pens. The pen in question is my first purchase and I gave up for awhile after this. But I ended up buying a Lamy Safari with a Z24 converter and Waterman Intense Black ink at the end of this past January and I like it. So thought I should see if anyone knew the ink cartridge or converter for this "Teorema Lacca Boreaux" pen.

As you may know, this year starts the year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac. Therefore Montegrappa presented a limited edition Montegrappa Horse 2014. There are two versions - first is decorated with overlay (solid 18K gold or sterling silver) which portray a horse, second version has a horse’s head on a clip. I just noticed that MyHabit.com (I have no relationship with them, I'm only a shopper) is having a sale on Montegrappa pens starting today at 4pm Pacific time and running until Dec 4th. MyHabit is a site owned by Amazon that gives big discounts in very limited quanities for limited periods of time. I've bought a few things from them before and they have a fantastic return policy and generally really nice products. This is the first time I've ever seen them have pens as one of their offerings as they usually sell high end fashions. Anyways, it's a members-only discount site so I think you have to sign up to check out the deals but I wanted to pass the word along for anyone interested in checking it out. The sale offerings won't even show up until 4pm pacific time and I have no idea what pens they'll have or what the prices will be but things generally sell VERY quick so if you want something, act quick. Having crossed the Alps from Germany to Italy - so too speak - and having added Omas' and more recently Montegrappas to my existing Graf von Faber-Castell, Pelikan and Lamy collection, I noticed that all my four Montegrappas (Memorias and NeroUnos) tend to be juicy writers. From Omas, which I am more familiar with, I learned already that Italian pens have individuality, can be like Ferraris and may require some gentle breaking in and tuning before they reach peak performance, but unlike OMAS, I found all Montegrappas so far to be wet writers. While I love the way Montegrappas write, I need to be more careful with the selection of inks (usually Diamine) and paper (unless I buy the Clairefontaine, Rhodia or Black n' Red myself, at work usually cheap copying paper and even cheaper notebooks that my employer supplies). Is this juiciness typical for this Montegrappa? Thank you for sharing your thoughts...

I find the Montegrappa line confusing. After looking over their pens at World Lux, Nibs.com and Paradise, I'm no better off. So I'm asking for your opinion. What's the biggest 'bang for the buck' in the Montegrappa line?

I know for certain that Montegrappa makes inks, but I've only seen ONE bottle in my entire life, and that is the blue that's sitting in my father's study (and won't let me use). I was wondering about the colour comparisons. Does anyone have a scan or a sample in comparisons to other standards like Noodler's? I've heard rave reviews from pen aficionados with a clearly disposable income and inky fingers, but a picture's worth a thousand words...
