    NOS Montblanc

I found this new old stock fountainpen at home with the original box. As far as I can tell, it was never used and it's in completely mint condition except for the box. Can anyone tell me is it worth anything?
  2. I'm having trouble identifying exactly which model this Montblanc Monte Rosa is. Based on searches I think it's an 042 or 412 with a 14K gold nib, but what's throwing me off is that the other images I've seen have the star on the cap and sometimes the clip as well. Pictures are included, but here are the highlights: Silver metal screw-on cap with MONTBLANC in all caps and Monte Rosa in script at the base Gold nib stamped tip to collar: MONT / BLANC / 14C / MONTBLANC / 585 Diamond ink windows MADE IN GERMANY stamped above the ink window area Piston filler The tines are bent and the feed looks like something chewed on it. The nib also seems too loose, and I'm wondering if the unit isn't inserted as far as it ought to be. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove the piston. It seems like I ought to be able to remove the nib, but neither pulling nor turning seems to work (it's also super gunked-up and I'm still soaking it in water to try to get it clean. Ink and water will come sort of down the feed but the pen will not write. I'm chalking this up to the super dirty feed and I might try to floss between the nib and feed. Sometimes when filling with water or ink some of it bubbles through and comes out of the screw/piston area, so I think that a seal might be loose somewhere. That, or I need to fill and empty extremely slowly. Thanks for whatever insight you're able to provide. ETA: I managed to wiggle the nib out and it looks like the stamp is 342. So I guess the pen model is 342G? There's no G on the stamp but it's a gold nib, so it only makes sense. Still, it doesn't match any of the images I've found online and now I have to figure out how to get the feed out.

    Monte Rosa Piston

Hello, I am looking for advice on repairing the broken psiton rod that came with this Monte Rosa. I am not sure I will be able to find a replacement and the rubber seal appears to in very good shape still. It is broken and has chucks missing in the upper section so if I twist the piston all the way down it disconects from the threads and gets stuck in the barrel. Is there an optimal way to glue this or something? Your help is much appreciated

    Monte Rosa Information

Hoping for any help in finding out about this. Git it some time ago, and all I know is it's a Monte Rosa, has - I think - Minte a Rosa etched on the cap, no cracks, nib says Monte Rosa, and on the end piece there's a dot( white?) and numbers which may be 0486. When I got it, the nib was a wee bit scratchy, and I tried to smooth a little, but left iy when I didn't seem to be making any progress, and didn't want to do damadpge. I'm pretty certain that a nib eister could have iy up and rock and rollin' in no time at all Anyway.....could anyone let me know what model it is? Have enclosed pictures as best ?I cab( eyes bad just now.) Thanks Alex PS I'm hoping to sell it....if there's anyone here who would like to give it a new home, that would be great....eBay is a hassle and my concentration isn't great. I'd much rather just a straightforward private sale. And please excuse me if its cheeky saying that here. I have no idea how much it's worth, nor ant memory of what ?I paid for it( again with the health stuff.....stroke affected memory)
  5. I recently purchased an MB Monte Rosa from the bay. It's a beautiful looking 042g, with a real nice gold nib. The problem is, it leaks from the bottom. I would love to keep the pen if it can be repaired. Does anyone know how to dismantle the piston assembly from the pen? Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
  6. I recently bought a vintage MB pen online but am slightly confused as to which model it is. I'm told it's from the 50s and made in Germany and the nib says monte rosa on it but the rest of the pen doesn't seem to match the monte rosa descriptions I've seen online. It doesn't have the scalloped band on the cap, which is also engraved with Montblanc, not monterosa and has the white star (not an engraving). There's no model number on it, but it has STB on the piston pump knob. Is the pen a real montblanc? If so, what model is ist, a monte rosa or another model with another nib? Thanks for any help you can give me! I've attched a couple of photos to help.
  7. Pictures: http://imgur.com/a/TG23L Hey everyone, just got this Monte Rosa from a online-auction house, not sure if its a real MB-MR. The case is that when I write for example, 200 words or so the won't write as well at the end, the ink don't flow until I screw the piston a bit, this is my first pistonfiller so I am not sure if I should turn it everytime to get out some ink every 200 words or its just going to flow automatic. The second picture you can see that the last two straight lines is the last one until the pen stopped totally working, until i twist it again. Any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks!
