    Rare Montblanc Model ?

Hi everyone ! I just bought this Montblanc fountain pen. It was described as a silver plated classic... But I can't find any information about it on the internet. Can someone help me ? Is it a 221, a classic ? Is it a rare pen ? In that condition with the box and the papers what was the good price to pay ? I really need your help because I've never seen a pen like this before.
  2. I personaly like to use clairefontaine paper with montblanc ink. I think the paper absorbs the ink very nicely and smooth. I carry around a Rhodia webnotebook everywhere i go and i must say it's my favorite so far.

Help Id & Authenticate This Mb Please!

Hello, May someone please help me identify, and authenticate this MB fountain pen? I believe it's classic, but on the box it shows "1995 Montblanc" which doesn't seem to add up with the years of a classic pen? If I walked into a MB store, do you think they'll be able to authenticate it with it being so old? Do they authenticate at all in general? I live many hours away from one, and would hate to show up and get no help. I would greatly appreciate any help/ advice! **I apologize the quality is wonderful as I'm using a camera phone.
  4. Hello, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if someone could help me verify if my montblanc pen is real. The plastic glows red under light. It has a pin on the cap "GV1084802" has GERMANY on cap, under the clip it says PIX. Their was a rubber seal on the cap(rollerball pen) what concerns me is the box, the pen I bought was a rollerball 75th anniversary, used. The guy I bought it from got it from a pawn shop(he owns it) the box had a black stretchy strip to keep the pen in the case without moving. It came with a montblanc gaurentee, but it wasn't stamped, as well as the warrantee wasn't stamped. Are their any indicators that I received a fake. Thank you so much, in advance.

    Montblanc Diva Fp

Would any collectors of the Diva series be willing to share a picture of the Dietrich, Garbo, Bergman and Kelly fountain pens side by side for comparison purposes? I have the Princess Grace Kelly and am considering tracking down more of these lovely ladies. Thank you
  6. I just received a MB WE Carlo Collodi and am looking for recommendations for an ink. Up to this point, my only inks have been black, blue/black and an occasional blue. I am ready to branch out a little, but still not to far... I would like to find a deep, dark, rich brown similar to the color of the pen. I realize there is a MB Carlo Collodi ink but it appears to be lighter with more orange than the color of the pen. But if anyone does have there pen filled with the matching ink, I would be interested in hearing your opinion too. Thank you in advance.

    My Second Montblanc

ok fpn has infected me, hope the infection doesn't get worse. I just received my second montblanc ...a gently used montblanc generation. for 85$ shipped. http://i.imgur.com/Kdl3Rby.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oQ0JqPM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BXNQfCH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IG1qK23.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qEaGocb.jpg unlike my first mb(Alfred hitchcock)...it has the potential for becoming an everyday carry...as I won't have to worry about spoiling it by mistake. another plus is that it is cartridge/convertor pen...I find it easier to change ink in them. even though they are not considered luxurious I prefer then. on first receiving the pen I was a little bit disappointed, as it felt very light(I usually use metal bodied pens like sheaffer legacy heritage, modern parker premier , waterman carene, cross townsend etc ) but after using the pen for 2 day...I like it a lot. the nib is very smooth and just glides on paper. it hasn't skipped and start as soon as it touches the paper. has good ink flow...I preffer wetter nibs as they tend to make the shading in inks more pronounced. I was curious, the clip has made in Germany , and pix written under the clip(as shown in the last picture) but no serial no... do the montblanc generation pens have a serial no?
  8. Ink newbie here. Looking to brach out from usual black and blue/black. I have a new MB Princess Grace Kelly and would like to find an ink that is as close as possible to the purple color of the pen. Thank you

    Writers Edition Nibs

I apologize if this has been discussed before, I tried to search through the old threads about WE pens. In every thread about the Writers Edition pens, people talk about how one edition or another has a particularly smooth or soft or springy nib, but I can't find any details on differences between the WE nibs themselves apart from the designs on them. Are the nibs different in a way that would be consistent throughout any given edition (e.g. all properly tuned Poe nibs have X quality)? How much is dependent on the person using the pen? How do they compare to the 146es produced in their year? I would really appreciate any thoughts on WE nibs and the comparative differences between them. Of course, every time I see a WE praised, I think about adding one to my roster. I'm just trying to get a better sense of how they perform.
  11. I would like your opinions on this little matter I have the great fortune of having in possession over the last few years, a modest collection of 13X pens that still have clear yellow striped windows, with a slight issue: no doubt because they were kept in storage by previous owners and only taken out when they were sold, most of the windows sport stubborn decades-old blue stains for a good third of the visible space. What would you recommend to remove the stains and how? So far, most threads recommend Ink Nix, amodex and rapido-eze. I understand these work well on modern plastics, but are they safe for use on 50s celluloid? Thank you.
  12. Hi everybody ! I recently bought a montblanc 144 on ebay and I wanted to be sure It is a real one. The seller have a few positive reviews but not for selling pens. I paid 120 $ for it. I think it is genuine but I would like the confirmstion of you community experts ! -The nib passes the magnet test ( so it is likely solid gold but not 100% sure ) - THERE IS NO PIX ENGRAVEMENTS. -There is a serial number - it writes OK. - Came with a threaded converter - BROAD nib ( supposed to be ) - Two tone nib Here are the pictures :
  13. Hi guys! I must say I LOVE this forum. Here in Puerto Rico there is little to NO support or service or anything for fountain pens. I've only seen ONE store which marks up prices roughly %20. Anyway, this pen was given to me by my aunt about two years ago, my first fountain pen. I didn't know exactly how a fountain pen should feel, but she had this pen for probably around 20+ years or more before she gave it to me. Since I got into the fountain pen game, I can tell something's wrong. So I would like to ID the pen first, to see if maybe replacing the converter could help it. The pen says Montblanc Meisterstuck Pix on the cap ring, 4810 14K gold on the nib, the barrel is NOT see through in any part ( I've read about some Monts that have an ink view window). I hope these pics help. This forum is the ONLY real source of Fountain pen information I have, other than good ol' online searching. Thanks for your help!

  15. It's nothing to do with me. I'm not the buyer nor the seller but please give me your authenticity impressions of this pen I know for sure that's not an authentic converter, and I know how I would vote, but I would like to see what you all think.
  16. I just received a coral streamlined MB Danish 20, but it's a tad small for my hands -- I generally prefer the length and girth of the 146/136 unposted. I know there is a No. 25 model in the same production time frame. Does anyone know if it's the same size as the No.20, or is it a size #6 equivalent? I have a Simplo No. 25 safetyfiller that is a lot thicker than the slim Danish 20. Would the same girth apply to the Danish 25? Or should one totally ignore the model conventions because these pens are developed separately in Denmark? Also, what does the '5' in No. 25 mean? Sorry for the barrage of questions. I hope to hear from the experts here. Thanks a lot!
  17. Hi guys! So I've been looking at this on my mums behalf, and contacted the dealer and can get it for a right steal! I'm just questioning it's authenticity, as for the price he's going to let me pay, it does make me wonder. So if anyone could help spot any signs of this being a fake then please, let me know. I do appreciate it a lot. http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231167023957&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:IE:1123 Thanks

  21. I was told by a person at a pen store that Montblanc makes the better nib than say a monte grappa or cartier. I wonder if this is true or is it all in the name. I will say they are nice, but I wonder if there are others out there just as good. Hmmm
  22. 2nd Post! Again, not sure if its in the right section so apologies, but over time ill learn:) Just wondering, I've been after a Montblanc Noblesse, one of the vintage ones, ( think they are also known as Slimline's or Quickpens, for a while now, but everywhere i seem to look they are costing over £100. Speaking to someone today and they told me they should be relatively cheap to pick up, but I'm yet to find one of sub £100. Anyone have any suggestions on where i can get one? Thanks. Tom
  23. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of a MB Princess Grace Kelly. I was wondering if any owners of this beautiful purple/gold fountain pen has found their perfect ink or stationary for letter writing. I realize that these choices are subject to personal taste. But thought this might be a good starting point in my search. Thank you
