Hello everyone, Years ago I had the opportunity to buy a faulty Montblanc Agatha Christie FP at a bargain price. I feel time has come to fix it. Before sending the pen to MB for a service quote, I'd like to know if I can fix It by myself. Any Way to put the c-ring in Place by myself? Thanks to everyone Who can help!

Hello, Few days ago I was tidying my attic and I found, among my late uncles things, a box with following fountain pens. They have been sitting there for at least 20 years. I will appreciate any help with identifying, or confirming what I found on web, and also any advice on cleaning them. If you have any links to advice how to clean them, and/or restore them, please link it. Also if there is service they can be sent to (in EU). Since they all seem to be piston filling pens I intend to fill them with water, hoping it will unclog/wash residue ink and see where they leak. 1. I think this one is Montblanc 146, F (?) tip. On the piston cap is engraved 146 and F and L(?). This L looks weird, and I could not get good photo of it. Engraved on cap ring is Montblanc Masterpiece. On cap is engraved Stahlunion, which, I think, is German company which he used to work with. There also is small hole on cap. As far as I can tell, piston is not working, as I could not see any movement through ink window. Is there any way to repair it? 2. Parker 51 (?), Dove Gray, Vac filling (?), no idea of nib size. How to check for nib size? Damage on grip section, looks like it was mended with super glue. 3. I think this one is Faber Castell Osmia. Under piston cap is engraving 884, EF. Piston is working. 4. No idea for this pen. On cap is engraved Germany Rolled Gold. 5. This one is a bit strange. Looks like Montblanc. And I think it is Montblanc 254, OBB engraved on piston cap (Broad nib?). Cap is friction fit. But the nib is Pelikan, F. I guess at some point nib was changed. Or is there possibility of some cooperation between Montblanc and Pelikan? 6. This one is a bonus one. It was not in box with others. At first I thought it is fake Montblanc, but at closer inspection I found that there is engraving at the cap – Montblanc No. 12 and according to photos I saw on web it might be legit. What do you think? Cap is friction fit. Nib looks verry clogged. I don't know nib size.

I bought this package of Mb Permanent Blue probably in 2014. Sticker says best before Nov15. I'm finally using them, just emptied one cartridge, and noticed...a message? The number 45 written inside the cartridge. I examined the other cartridges (see photo). The three on the left are unopened. All different numbers. Can anyone explain why these numbers were written inside the cartridges? And what they mean?

Can anyone tell the nib size from this HQ image of a LeGrand Montblanc?

In the recent times of King's Charles III ascension to the throne I have noticed the fountain pen nib he uses is very dominating - it looks really great on paper. However, I am not sure if this is just Montblanc conforming slightly differently to the other more 'standard' brands of Fountain Pen. For example, a M nib or OM feels more like a Broad etc. Are we able to tell from this image of the pen the nib? I think I can see a slightly different nib end here suggesting perhaps Oblique but wanted to see what you guys think? To me, the sidestrokes seem thinner than the downstrokes, no? I can confirm an OB is far too thick so I'm not sure if it's just a Medium or Oblique Medium?

Hi All! I am a student who wrote with the same FP for many years. However, I wanted something new, so I decided to trade pens so that I could afford it and switch pens more often. I recently bought two Montblancs 144s. The price was good, but I have a few questions regarding the age, nib size and serial number. 1. How can I determen how old my pen is, even if there is no serial number. 2. I want to clean the pen a bit better, but I am not sure how to remove the nib. There is also not a good Youtube video that shows me that. Any ideas? 3. My pen has no serial number. I don't directly suspect the pen to be fake, but I am also not sure what the reason could be and if it's normal. Attached some pics for reference and age determination. These are my newest purchases this is a beautiful Mozart with OB nib, this is a 80’s split ebonite feed 149 w/ fine nib, can get ef nib also but was afraid be too scratchy and too fine?? Any thoughts on the ef I have a fine in a new “ATW 80 days” , medium in a newer 146 platinum, and Broad in a 80’s split feed 149, I like the fine in the 80 days pen but was afraid of older extra fine? please let me know on the extra fine older nibs please??

Hi all, It's my first visit to the forum. I hope someone can help me. I have a Montblanc Noir et Noir retractable fountain that has become rather intractably jammed! I've included some pics to try to illustrate. The nib can still be extended and retracted smoothly by twisting the cap at the barrel. The problem is that when I unscrew the cap from the end to replace it at the nib, the end piece (that clever little flip top that releases the cartridge) remains threaded in the cap. And having the end piece embedded in there makes the cap too narrow to screw onto the barrel and protect the nib. Does anyone have experience with this kind of issue? I would appreciate any kind advice. I love this pen, high-maintenance or no. Thanks kindly. Teresa

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place - new to this forum. I have inherited 5 pens (see photo attached). I can identify all except the small Montblanc cartridge pen at the bottom. It has all the right markings (ag925, Pix, France Metal) and an EP identification number. Can anyone help me identify the model. Many thanks.

Hello, I am hoping to get some direction. I purchased a used 75th anniversary Montblanc 149. About a 2 weeks ago I noticed that a small piece of the rose gold flaked off of the nib near the breather hole. Does anyone know of someone that I can reach out to that can completely re-plate the nib. I understand MB did a really bad job on plating these nibs so I would like to get it re-done so that I don't have to worry about it in the future.

150 opened bottles of inks now have no place in my (wife's work-from-home) desk's main storage space, which is absolutely chockers, so most of these now live inside clear, stackable Daiso plastic storage boxes under the spare bed in the same room. Then there are also the 25 Diamine Inkvent Red Edition inks, although technically I can squeeze this into one of the desk's shallow drawers:© A Smug Dill
