  1. Hi! My brother asked me to dispose of a stash of pens which includes a Montblanc 146 4810 with a broken nib. Pics are attached. The pen itself seems in OK condition: some wear on the body, no nicks or big scratches, the piston mechanism works fine. I don't want to keep the pen as it is too big for me. Should I just post it on eBay, or buy a new nib and then sell it? What minimum price do you recommend, repaired or as is? The serial number on the ring is FB108683 W-Germany. Thanks much!
  2. I have a Montblanc 32 with a cracked hood. This was sold as an economy pen, but it has a gold nib and prior to developing the crack was an excellent writer. The only problem it has is the cracked hood which allows ink to leak. I am trying to decide on getting it repaired or selling it. The cost of repairs I estimate as about $125 due to the difficulty in getting parts as the pen was only produced for a few years in the 1960s and it is my understanding that cracks in the material that this pen was made of typically are not repaired by sealing and stabilizing the crack. This puts the cost close to the cost of buying a replacement. I estimate that the parts value of the pen as it is, is about $25. So, any suggestions.
  3. Some of you may have already seen this over in the Montblanc forum, but I have a 1995 MB 146 that I recently purchased and *was* in pristine condition until the collar became attached. I do NOT want to send it back to Montblanc because I'm paranoid that they will either remove the nib and feed and put it in a brand new pen or god forbid, they send a whole new pen altogether. I love this pen, I love how it writes, I want it repaired and not replaced. Do any of my MB family have recommendations for someone who can repair it? I've seen a couple of names bandied around as I've done some searches, but I'd like to get some consensus on someone who can help me, if possible, in the US. I'm not keen to send it overseas. You can also feel free to message me privately if you prefer. shawnee
  4. Hi All, I recently acquired an MB 334 1/2 that is missing the whole piston mechanism (including the knob). It does have the piston mounting, which, for this model I read, is welded to the barrel. So, I need a piston mechanism, and instructions for installing it in an existing mount. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  5. I bought a second-hand fountain pen, the patron of art Peter the great from the eBay. The description of the item was good in function. But the pen was broken when it arrived. The broken part was inner plastic barrel like the picture. The seller told me the pen can be repaired at Montblanc service but the certification was not stump by the origin store (He said that he bought it from NY montblanc store last Nov.) He also told he can refund USD 100 for repairment. I ask the montblanc service but they did not want to answer the approximate price for repairment. Does it deserve to repair it? Is there anyone know how much does it cost to repair it?

    Cracked 234 1/2 Drp Barrel :/

this is unfortunate. i bought the pen off ebay relatively cheap, then discovered the cracks. i feel as if they're growing, but perhaps it's my paranoia. in either case, there are three cracks total - 2 big ones, and a tiny one in between. this is my daily fountain, for which i have grown to love! im new here on the forum, but perhaps you can all welcome me with some fantastic advice on who to send this to for repairs!? or can it be repaired at all? i'm really stressed and disappointed about it, but have continued using it. the daily use and pleasure of the pen has been overwhelmed by fretting over the cracks, however - and fear i may have to shelf it. sorry for the focus problems, but you get the idea of the scope of the cracks. these pens are IMPOSSIBLE to casually photograph! heeeellllp! (and thanks for any advice you can provide)
