    149 Loose Nib

Good evening all! I recently aquired a 1972-75 Montblanc 149 and started to flush it through. I have noticed that the nib and feed are loose - loose enough that with small pressure, I can actually rotate them. I'm wondering, how do I tighten the nib and feed from rotating? Secondly, who is a good place I can send my pen to be properly cleaned/polished? I'm in Australia. Thank you!
  2. Dear All, I would really love to get into Vintage Montblancs and have been watching quite a few on eBay as well as locally. Are there any that people would recommend? I've mainly been looking at the ones in the title, and I've also had some trouble distinguishing nib size names. I like Fine pens (not Japanese Fine), and have been looking for a Fine Vintage Pen, but I've been seeing like KF and I heard that the K stands for Kugel... But I am unsure what that means (I think it has something to do with the bounciness and flex?). Also any tips when looking at these vintage pens? Like what to look for, hidden problems, piston filling mechanisms that tend to fail from certain models, or perhaps a rubber gasket or O-ring that always disintegrates, so I'll have to look at replacing it every now and then, etc? And any tips for what I'll have to do when owning one? Just so I know how much trouble I'll need to go to to own it (replacing specific parts every now and then, or sourcing the parts, or perhaps specific parts that are impossible to find, and hence once the pen has a problem, it's impossible to fix) Or any suggestions on any other MB Vintage pens would be welcome as well!

    Montblanc Nib Feed Diameter Size?

I am talking about the diameter size of the nib portion that goes into the feed (the opposite end of the nib tip). The nib feed diameter, not tipping size (fine, broad, italic). What is the diameter in mm of a Montblanc 149 and a Montblanc Writer's Edition? I am interested in both of those nib units but I don't know what the writer's edition sizing is. I know 149s are size 9 and I know the writer's edition is smaller, but how much smaller. I want to know what size the writer's edition sized nib feed can fit into and preferably exact diameter of it and also the exact diameter of the 149. (9.1, 9.3, etc.) I have found places that measured the diameter of them from shoulder to shoulder but didn't even post the feed portion size. That is a huge factor in a nib. Thank you all very much.
  4. Just out of curiosity, if I wanted to start a business selling Pelikan Pens, how would I go about it?
  5. excuse me if this has been noted before... I just coudnt stop laughing.... here goes... montblanc royal steel ballpoint pen http://i.imgur.com/SxCTcaP.png cost 8900$ only. in that you can have 2 of these limited edition... http://i.imgur.com/6pyb4gC.png @ 4000$ each approximately and still have money left to buy a new 146 and ink. oh montblanc....you are so funny
  6. okay I came across this pen at a good price . the seller seemed nice and had a few good pictures. so I bought it. the seller even included an extra rollerball refill in the price. when I received and checked the pen, I noticed that there was no serial no. on the pen cap. that made me paranoid....because of the no of starwalker fakes out there. so here are the images...please let me know what you think.I know it is a rollerball/fineliner... but I assumed I can still use the knowledge pool here at fpn. thank you for any help in advance. and excuse me for the pics...I used ipad mini for these. I can upload more pics if needed. http://i.imgur.com/mpUVItU.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YoH51ms.jpg on the packed refill there was a sticker indicating it was imported by entrack ltd (authorised distributor of montblanc in india). I tried to remove it, and it came off. http://i.imgur.com/5ULQfcW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/czXJ4j5.jpg there is quite a lot of ink damage. on flipping the cushion there is a slot for 2 pens. http://i.imgur.com/uwlg7oD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IYGL2Na.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wsjMv18.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tl3KzWN.jpg it does say Germany metal pix under the clip. regards Vikram
  7. Which nib of yours is the one to which all comparisons are made? What is it about this nib that makes this "The nib to rule them all"? Mine is the factory stub on an Aurora 88. Absolutely perfect! Perfect ink flow, perfect line variation, perfectly balanced, perfect feedback. I in fact use this as my standard description of what I want when customising.
  8. hi, I was offered this pen for 110$ dollars. from the pics...I could tell the pen has loose rings and nib with plating loss. it is vintage. as the ink window is not visible...I concluded it to be 142... but somehow the cap top seems a bit off.(seems shorter and fatter) please help me identify it. anyways here are the pics. http://i.imgur.com/k0rqH5A.jpg http://i.imgur.com/POx38dt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KKEZNx6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PJPXoDZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XNNumdN.jpg that's all the pics that I have. thanks in advance. regards Vikram

    Mont Blanc Nib Alignment Issue

I have a Mont Blanc 159, from the early 90's and the nib is ever so slightly misaligned which is leading so some feed issues. It's unlikely that it will require a new nib or anything, can anybody suggest a ball park figure for the cost of a service? Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated
  10. Hi there! First post! So apologies if it's in the wrong section. Gotta say, love the site and everyone seems really friendly, which is always good. Anyway, about my post, I'm looking at the following Montblanc Noblesse, but am unsure as to wether the pen is genuine or not, and how much is a reasonable price to pay for one of these, as I'm relatively new to all this. The link has a good few pictures from all different angles. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171257114157?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1432.l2649 If you could let me know, as it's something I'd be looking to purchase should everything be well and good. If not, could anyone recommend a place to look for one? Many thanks, Tom
