Preface: I had a Lamy AL-Star fountain pen I loved dearly. It wrote just the way I liked and was extra fine. My wife wanted to get me a new pen to replace my lost Lamy. (I told her the Lamy was cheap and amazing, but she didn't listen) She decided to get me a second hand Mont Blanc off ebay. While it skips at my normal writing pressure if you press even lightly on it, it writes so fat my letters start to bleed together. Problem: I want to replace the nib on this pen with a finer one. I don't know if that is possible with this Mont Blanc because I can't readily Identify which pen it is (it might even be a fake) There is some damage around the top where the gold leaf has come off the resin, also the pen clicks into the pen top as opposed to screwing into the pen top. Can anyone help me identify what type of Mont Blanc this is? I know its a meisterstück but thats all. I put a card next to the pen for size ref, same size as a credit card. thanks for any help

Hello everyone! I am quite annoyed. I purchased a 50's Mont Blanc ballpoint pen some time ago and I'm having a hard time finding the good refill. When i got it, it came along with a Schneider Express 225 Fine refill which plastic bottom had been cut out in order to make its length fit the pen's body. It fitted perfectly but soon ran out of ink. I then learnt the Express 225 Fine refills are no longer produced and purchased a Medium size, thinking it would fit in anyway. But it didn't: the nib and pre-nib circumferences are a bit too large. The refill easily gets blocked when I am using the pen, and I have to push real hard on the lever to make itget out and again push real hard on the nib to make it get back in. I enclosed pictures of the pen and refill for your information. I am just causing damages to the pen and need help to find the good refill. What do you think? Which refill could match it? Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

We all have one. That certain pen that we are going to get "one of these days". And then when we finally get around to it, too late! They are sold out, discontinued, etc. (Some of)Mine are: 1. Waterman Phileas - I really wanted one of the "early" red marble ones (before there was any white in the swirl) 2. Lamy Safari Orange - they were serious about "limited edition" 3. Mont Blanc Meisterstruck - yes, I know these are still available, but at a substantial premium over what they sold for a few years ago. So what are some of yours?

Hi everyone! Well, I've had the FPN bug for a little over half a year but I haven't ventured to buy a Mont Blanc... until now I have the opportunity to buy a mint starwalker (solid black) with all paperwork for $200, is that a deal?? Thanks everyone for you guidance.

This is just a short note, but I made a call today to the richmond uk service centre, and they could not tell me if hamburg is still forging or using nos for 1920s pens. Also if they were doing nibs as i know from my past visit.Forging nibs was still going on. Im not so sure about levers, i seek a lever round type with mb i'm pleased to remember it as being the 1927-8 lever on the simplo coral from rosler, their were on 4 anyways. ciao gm-

I've just recieved my first MB - a Meisterstuck 'pix' ballpen £50 of Ebay. I'm fairly certain it's genuine - has the unique serial number (CZ1092359), and 'pix' under the pocket clip which I believe is another anti-counterfeiting measure. From what I've read you can't date an MB from the serial number - is that true, or could I determine where this was initially sold from any part of the number? What I'm not sure about is exactly what model it is - 144, 146, 149 etc? Seller stated it's not the LeGrand version. Pics below: Taking it to work this afternoon to give it a proper run out, using this and my Parker 51 actually makes me look forward to paperwork!

I heard, but did not experience the fpn outage, so i must say to those that did without, your patience is noted. I have been watching prices of ebays mont blanc section, prices seem to be falling of course value for item description completley, However over the last 12 months, MB's seem to be declining in price, is that due to mb collecgtors selling off duplicates, or more pens on the market now then ever, i mean even the other site, in germany there used to be at least 670 mb related items now its justtouching 500. I also find ebay is getting harder to work with, you can still get good buys, but many sellers are, letting pens go for lower then normal prices, I have experienced it in a few models, but my 51 market seems to be up, does anyone, agree or disagree with these related issues. ,well done denmark, i picked that not from hearing the song, just from the stage show, did not bet on it so no money won, but my own self gratification, same as the wigan 1-0 over man city, sorry man city fans, I just like the underdawgs, Rotterdam today is typical rott, going out now to find some pen treasure. doooei

Hello poeple, I have been a passionate user of ink pens since past 10 years. Even now, after I have graduated I still use ink pen for all my writing needs. In my childhood there was never a complain of ink clogging problems since we only had availability of 1 - 2 brands of ink and the pens we used to be in a normal price range. Off late after I brought a Mont Blanc Midnight blue (Blue - Black) which is a permanent ink, which is not mentioned on the box, I had started using it and it clogged my sheaffer prelude badly, which I have now given for repairing but my Parker 45 survived it. After this incident I have stopped using that ink. Now I have started using Waterman Blue Black and Parker Quink Blue Black ink. I am planning to purchase a purple or a black colour ink for my Parker Premier Black / Monochrome edition. This time I want to be perfectly safe and the ink brands which are available in my region are: 1. Waterman 2. Parker 3. Pelikan Edelstein 4. Mont Blanc PS: Quink Blue Black does not mention to be a permanent ink, but is it really one? I found quite a lot of people saying it to be a permanent ink but it doesn’t feel though. I have read reviews but I would like to know personal experience of people using it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Pranav B
