    Lamy 2000 Avalable On Massdrop

Sorry if this was already posted and I missed it, but Massdrop has Lamy 2000 featured again (and I'm trying hard to convince myself that I don't need a second one...)

    J. Herbin 50Ml 1670 Massdrop

Massdrop is doing a new drop for J. Herbin's 1670 anniversary inks - 2 bottles of Stormy Grey and one of Rouge Hematite. Direct link: here. Space is limited, 150 available. Well, 149 now. ^_^
  6. Massdrop has a notebook bundle up for voting. Two hardcover, two softcover. You can decided whether you want lined or unlined. Among other writing instruments you can use with it, fountain pen friendly. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/ogami-notebooks Has anyone ever used or have any knowledge of Ogami? Are they really fountain pen friendly?

    J. Herbin 30 Ml Massdrop

Just wanted to let everyone know there's a massdrop going on for 5 bottles of J. Herbin Ink for those who might be interested! Direct link is here. I think I'll probably participate once I figure out 5 colors I'd like. Note: On the site they mention a handful of colors not available for the drop. This might be a dealbreaker for some.

    J. Herbin 30 Ml Massdrop

Accidental double post! Apologies. Hopefully a mod can delete this.
  9. Hi, I have started a new poll on Massdrop for three rollerball/gel pens that take commodity gel refills (such as Pilot, Pentel, etc.) in addition to their custom refills. Please vote/comment if you are interested at (LINK removed bij moderator) Cheers - svp
  10. It just occurred to me ... I've not seen anything like group buy in India. Massdrop is a big hit abroad.... and great deals are generally available.... Has such thing happened in India? If not why not lets start this .... and give it a try.... Hopefully this will help..... We can certainly vote for certain items, a fountain pen, pen case, or inks....??

    Massdrop Experience

Hi folks, Just thought I'd share my experience on Massdrop for anybody who is interested. I have bought two pens from them. The first was a matte black vanishing point. I actually bought this a s a present and then the recipient turned out not to want it. Anyway, I "joined the drop" as the cool kids say on October 13 and it was shipped November 3. It arrived at my home in Canada on November 19. In addition to the $104 US I paid $17 US shipping and $16 CDN customs, so the total cost in hand was about $135. That's a saving, but not an incredible saving, and of course I was not supporting the Goulets or anybody else. I also ordered a Lamy 2000 (there has to be one I like). I paid for this on October 22, and it has still not been shipped (today is November 25). The Massdrop model is that the distributor ships the product to MD AFTER the "drop is complete" as the cool kids also say. So in this case the distributor had to find 235 2Ks in varying nib sizes. Apparently they then shipped them to totally the wrong state. Eventually they will get to MD, who will unpack them all, sort them out, and re-package them for shipping. Since the shipping took 16 days last time, even if MD ship the Lamys today (and they are saying it'll be at least another 3 or 4 days) it'll be December 10 before they reach here, and again the cost will be ~$135. MD's communication is decent, and they are transparent about the reasons for the delay (even though it's just mind-boggling that the address got messed up for over $20,000 worth of merchandise). The savings are reasonable, though not world-shattering. To whom we would return the Lamys if there is a problem is not clear, particularly for Canadian folks. Is this covered by US or Canadian warranty? I'm glad I played with Massdrop, but I don't think, on balance, that I will again. LONG delays are no fun- after all, it's not a Nakaya- and the discounts are really just paying you for waiting so that they don't have to hold inventory. I find the shopping experience far more satisfying from the Goulets, from the marketplace here or, forgive me, even from eBay. Cheers, Ralf

    Kaweco Art Sport On Massdrop

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/kaweco-art-sport Ooh! Look at the compact shiny acrylic goodness!
  13. Just spotted on Massdrop, another listing of the Lamy 2000 (makrolon version), only needs 5 more buy-ins to reach the maximum discount price of $104.99. I don't remember whether they had the full range of options last time, but it's EF, F, M or B this time around. I don't think I could justify buying a second (and paid more than this for my first, sadly!)... But if ever you've been tempted, then turned off by the price tag ($145-160 in online retail stores), this is a real steal! (The price, not the nib - it's real rhodium-coated gold, I think... if you'll pardon the pun.)
  14. I've been watching Massdrop for about 6 months now, and seeing the occasional fountain pen listed - but until the Vanishing Point I hadn't bothered to do anything about it. [Well, except for a Pilot Parallel 4-pen drop - but they're in a different category, at least in my books!] Suddenly they seem to have 3 or 4 on the go at any one time, some of them less spectacular, some of them more so. Here's the latest: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/lamy-studio-platinum?s=fount This is an amazing discount (Pen Chalet have the Platinum Studio on sale right now at $319) - but once again, a little (a lot!) outside my price range... Still, kudos to Massdrop for providing this service. I wish they'd space these deals out a little more - and/or hope they repeat some of them in 3-6 months time, to give my wallet time to recharge! - but they're offering some really decent pens at pretty hard-to-beat prices. No affiliation or remuneration for posting this - though they'd be welcome to throw another Iroshizuku ink in with my Vanishing Point order!
  15. Just noticed this morning that Massdrop have another couple of fountain pens available - the Stipula Speed (which doesn't do much for me, sadly!), and the Pilot Stargazer. I'm locked in to a Vanishing Point, so will be passing on this one - but with an asking price of $100-105, four colour and two nib options, and an optional extra $20 for a bottle of Iroshizuku ink, this looks to be a pretty good buy! https://www.massdrop.com/buy/pilot-stargazer No affiliation, no personal benefit from mentioning this - just thought I'd mention it!
  16. Massdrop (a deals site, you'll need an account to order but they're quick to make and free) has the Rotring 800 mechanical pencil on sale for $42 plus shipping, if you want one I think this is a decent deal, here's a direct link: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/rotring-800-mechanical-pencil
