  1. Hi, my first post to the site. I've moved into the FPN hesitantly because I really don't know anything about a subject that I see many others are quite passionate about. I'm looking to sell some pens and I don't really have any idea what I have so I'm seeking what I've seen referred to as an "intermediary." I've posted to the regional site because I would like to show the pens to a prospective intermediary in person (if possible) so we can negotiate a contract, discuss whether the prospective intermediary has prior experience serving as middle man, I can hand over the pens (assuming we reach a deal), etc... If anyone is interested, I could meet at a location of your choosing anywhere near the route between Germantown, MD and Stafford, VA as I work in both locations during the week. If you are farther afield, perhaps we could meet somewhere in between? Here is a link to some pictures (pasted below). The the pictures aren't very good - yet another area where some help would be appreciated! I have quite a few additional pens, but my hunch is that the pens for which I've posted pictures are the most valuable. https://www.flickr.com/photos/125298143@N07/ Lastly, if anyone is simply interested in providing advice on how the such a seller-intermediary relationship shold proceed, I'm all ears. For example, is there a ballpark/standard "cut" for the intermediary? Sincerely, Mike michaelkostiw@yahoo.com

    Hello From Maryland!

Hello Everyone! My friend told me about this site and now I'm hooked! Figured instead of lurking I'd just make an account. I've been using fountain pens for about three years now, mostly for basic writing and fancy lettering purposes. I don't have the money for very fancy fountain pens, but I have some AWESOME friends that let me borrow theirs! My favorite everyday pen is Kaweco Classic Sport for the compact design and the fact that it's not meltdown-worthy if I misplace it. I also like the lack of a clip so it doesn't scratch my phone when thrown in my purse. I tend to like fine nibs over thicker ones, and blue or brown inks over black. I go through a lot of sketchbooks/notebooks each year and I definitely think a fine paper can make even the cheapest pen look ten times better! So I guess you can say I'm a bit of a paper/notebook snob. I also have a super-soft spot for well-designed accessories like pen pouches, leather notebook covers/cases, notebook bands with pen slots, etc. I follow a lot of pen blogs, but I come here almost exclusively before I buy a pen for trusted reviews. Can't wait to add to the conversations and start learning a whole lot more! –Tori
