  1. De Atramentis & Christopher Clark Wilhelm II my favourite in maker and my favourite history teacher in one review It is a bit of a weird combination I know. But I am a Fountain Pen Fanatic an Inkholic and a bookworm so this brings the reason for this one step closer The second reason is this..... http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/WILHELM%20II_zpsjsxc8jrk.jpg De Atramentis, one of my favourite ink makers made an ink and Christopher Clark one of my favourite history teachers "made" a book with the same name.... "One of my" of course since I love more ink brands and have other favourite history teachers too like Dutch Journalist and writer Geert Mak and his epic history of Europe in the 20th century Well that is explained let's go http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/WH%202%201st%20ppage%20fpn_zpsdvod9ahq.jpg Ink and Book Both the ink and Wilhelm 2 have an array of layers and shades that I will explain here. I will of course review the ink in a normal fashion. The book review can be found in the hand written texts. For those not intested in the book I will insert the most important part of the ink review here first. More explanation on Professor Clark I will do at the end of the review. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Scan_Pic0012%20fpn_zps8m5oynav.jpg Blowing my nose with ink in a kitchen towel... Here more of the (wine/eggplant) red hues shows http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Scan_Pic0013%20fpn_zpsrcbz45nw.jpg The colour depends on the colour and the quality of the paper .... On most papers it is more brown but a bit red hue is always visible It is a bit like Waterman's Havanna Brown... Which is also a brown wiht a red hue http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/colour%20comp%20fpn_zpstvtwfzyb.jpg Do you see what I mean Btw do not get intimidated by the featherig I used a Glass pen and these can be as wet a s fish's habitat Ink behaviour The ink behaves very well. It dries very fast even on Rhodia paper it dries in less than 10 seconds... On lower quality paper it dries even faster.... This is more often the case with De Atramentis inks, wet to very wet inks but very quickly drying once on the paper Shading is minimal till medium dependent on what paper is used. Saturation therefore is high. This fortunately does not result inbleeding or showthrough.... Feathering is very minimal when very wet and broad nibs are used but under normal circumstances on average paper this can be ignored Waterproof test. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/20150506_134211_resized_zpsq8dyvoln.jpg This is the result of a my usual Jacques Cousteau Diving experience for inks This is after half an hour. The colour is gone but the text is still readible making this ink suitable for work.... Especially as it survives a normal drop of water. Just like you you survive a drop but not half an hour with your head dipped in your fully filled bath tob http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Scan_Pic0007%20fpn_zpsyykperfj.jpg http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Scan_Pic0006%20FPN_zpsyud27zml.jpg I tested on several papers in this review. From low quality" recycled toilet paper" (good for nature re-using! Use toilet paper turn and use again ha ) till medium and high quality paper. The upper paper is Rhodia R the lower normal copy paper I love this colur depending on light fall and paper more brown tones can be discovered just like with the Waterman Havanna Brown Availability Here is a link to the corresponding page on the De Atramentis website http://www.de-atramentis.com/topic-ink-topics-inks-in-inks-/people-inks--inks--ink--people-/ink-inks-politics-fountain-pens--28/ La Couronne du Comte http://www.lacouronneducomte.nl is always keen on satisfying their customers. If interested in the ink you can sen an e-mail to Rik or Dennis athttp://info@lacouronneducomte.nl Wilhelm II Book and writing samples. Keep looking when not reading the handwritten texts give a good impression on a few aspects of the ink.... and er the hand written text give a "good?" impression of both book and it's main character too http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/3%20European%20Emperors_zpslnrtddu7.jpg Name game Dr Franz Josef Jansen is not of nobility as far as i know but I just liked playing with language and names. Tinte is German for ink and Kaiser is German for emperor.... Funnily the last to "emperors share the same first names. Also funny are the last names... Von Habsburg directs to the castle in Switzerland where the Habsburg Dynasty originated from.... Hachenburg is the name of the lovely german city where Dr Jansen lives and works http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Scan_Pic0008%20fpn_zpsf1wkmnf8.jpg Well inbreed was bon-ton (good habit ) among European nobility and they did it like . Vicky of merry old England had family in most European monarchies... Not the Dutch but there for the dutch weere linke to Germany (van Oranje NASSAU) and our kings were all named Willem (no H here) Willm I Willem II and Willem III and our current King Willem Alexander http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Scan_Pic0009%20fpn_zpsj3gvr5n1.jpg Felix Austria, Bella gerant alii, tu felix Austria nube – 'Let others wage war: thou, happy Austria, marry'. Forget the Beatles make love not war. The marriage politics were Habsburgs way of enlarging their territories or to keep in power.... Brilliant Idea make love not war but take my advice.... NOT wihtin your family A lot of Habsburg had genetical dissorders like Hot lips or retardation... Also queen Lizzy and family practised this as can be seen above and they suffer from haemophilia Well let's go on with the review and forget about this..... Not make war.... just make love..... ....with strangers http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Scan_Pic0011%20fpn_zpszm55h97e.jpg Too Conclude Lovely ink. Though it does not shade much. It is highly saturated. And it behaves very well on several papers.I love the colour which is distinctive but descent enough for every day use Regards Peter Professor Christopher Clark http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Wilhelm%202/Clark%20Collage_zpsskrdyict.jpg Professor Clark is your typical English professor.... Sort of.... since he is an Australian....who studied in Berlin and is now a a highly respected professor of History at Cambridge University (UK) and specializes on history of Prussia and the 19th and 20th century.( If am correct) Professor Clark speaks several languages fluently. He is also fluent in German.... even speaks it without an accent. .... That's a nice achieveement becaue i have been living in Austria for allmost 8 years now and still have a typical Dutch cheesehead (Kaßlkopf) accent On german television he presents the tv Series Deutschland Saga.... See the upper photos- Well from the clothing.... he looks like an English Professor doesn't he? He even has typical English wittiness in both German and English (can't judge the others) With this typical Humour he moderates the Deutschland Saga series where he explains the History of Germany from the Stone Age till now.... Professor Clark has the talent to explain more difficult subjects in eloquently fashion this makes it easy to follow for "normal" people like me.... Together with his wit these series and his presentations are a joy to watch. The Books Professor Clark published several books now of which some of them are depicted above. I just finished Wilhelm 2 and Started Sleepwalkers. In here as usual Professor Clark has a critical look at history and historians to place - "long accepted or taken-for-granted" facts - in a different light. His wit and his way of writng makes this books very usuable for Historians (like himself) as well as perfectly readible and understandible for simple nurse like me Regards Peter
  2. De Atramentis BOOKWORM scented ink Is it an Ink or is it a Stink? http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Ink%20Bottle%202%20FPN_zpszy5wrsrs.jpg Dear FPN Friends I am a great fan of De Atramentis http://www.de atramentis.comthe small family run business of the utterly passionate and friendly Dr.Franz- Josef Jansen. This company produces over 255 hand inks.... HANDMADE in GERMANY Until now I was not really a fan of scented inks... But er that has changed abruptly now.... why... Well as some of you might know from my profile I am a READING ADDICT and an INKOHOLIC.... De Atramentis has made a lovely dark green ink with the smell of OLD BOOKS AND ANCIENT LIBRARIES... that is like heroine to a drug addict http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/reading%20room%20and%20book%20worm_zpsts0ik79k.jpg Our little reading room and a detail picture of one of our bookshelfs ( a bit of a language mess books are in Dutch, German and English ) De Atramentis Bookworm Ink http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Bookworm%20drawing%20FPN_zpscwojim6y.jpg Sorry I am not a great artist my Bookworm at the bottom looks more like the kind of " worm" that gets women pregnant and produces children The text on the book does neither express my personal believes nor my political views... In my humble opinion there is no room for that here. It is also NOT meant to offend people in anyway... I saw it merely as a practical joke But maybe it inspires people to read more books and may be it inspires people to do some more critical thinking and helps people to looks at hings from different angles and perspectives.... Welll that is a good thing after all I guess http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Bookworm%20sampler%20FPN_zpszp6fuqly.jpg own here are some of the technical specs (as suggested by Ann Finley 2007) (not copied in but for this ink) points 1-5 1 = 5= Fountain Pens: Online Best Writer 0,8 italic nib, Kaweco Calligrapy Classic Sport 1,5 Italic Paper: Vleveka Classic Line Paperand ordinary copying paper Drying time: EXTREMELY FAST nib points 5 Flow: very smooth even in both the cheap and potenitally scratchy Dip Pens points: 5 Lubrication: wet points: 5 Feathering : None points 5 Bleeding: nada points 5 Shading: AWESOME points: % Waterproof: goof points: 4 Package: only i glass bottles Availabilty: De Atramentis http://www.de-atramentis .com For the Sake of Humanity I ho e that these inks will be available all over the world and it's surroundings SOON! Maybe I write the always friendly Rik and Dennis of http://la.couronneducomte.nl an E-mail..... They are always willing to help us FPN-ers Rik told me no problem what you need we can almost always order it The Colour Deep dark green. I would call it pine forest green or moss green... Just lke i called the green of the De Atramentis Jane Austen Ink https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/262586-lovely-liquids-de-atramentis-jane-austen-green/ Ink Vomit on a normal paper with a bit of a blowjob http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Ink%20vomit%202%20FPN_zpsriq10u0y.jpg Ink vomit on kitchen paper http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/ink%20vomit%20FPN_zpsvik14vw2.jpgWaterproof Comparion of D-A Bookworm and D-A Jane Austen http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/comp%20jane%20bookworm%20FPN_zpsmx3ttipd.jpg It appears to me that the basis of the Jane Austen and the Bookworm is similar.... Colours are very much a like... But beautiful in my opinion The Scent Does this ink has a nice smell.... In my opinion YES!!! OLD BOOKS!!!. I can Imagine that this is not to everyones liking. The scent is very decent though. After a few days there is only as smell left if your nose is close to the paper.... This make it suitable for everyday work.... Only the Connaisseur will know Ink Behaviour http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Bookworm%20Handtest%20FPN_zpsikfisqfs.jpg The ink behaves excellently.... No feathering at all. Showthrough is very little and is even acceptable withbroader nibs The inks is very wet and smoot but very quickly drying.... Maybe this is an ink you should consider if you are a lefthand writer.... Because of it's wetness and excellent lubrication the writng experience is very smooth... Even in potentially scratchy (0.8 italic) nibs Waterproof This ink had a 1-hour Jacques Cousteau diving experience in a bowl of water.... Although the colour and the scent have vanished..... The words are completely and utterly legible.... Another reason why this ink is excellent for work Verdict This is my first scented ink and I like it. As a reading addict it is sort of a musthave . The colour is very much a like of that of the De Atramentis Jane Austen.... (but with a little extra haha) A lovely dark green..... I it Regards Peter

De Atramentis Document Inks Brown And Green

Lovely Liquids De Atramentis Dokument inks BROWN and Green Dear FPN friends, Here is a Review of the new De Atramentis Document ink colours. In This Review I will examine the new Brown and the new Green. Both are absolutely bombproof like the De Atramentis Document Ink Blue and Dark blue I have reviewed before https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/263866-de-atramentis-document-ink/ https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/266158-de-atramentis-document-ink-dark-blue/ All new Colours of De Atramentis Document Ink The new range of colours will be: Blue, Dark Blue (blue black), Grey, Black, Red, Green, Brown (or sepia), Turquoise and Magenta The best thing is all colours can be adapted on input if artists and writers. More on this under “Liz Steel and Urban Sketchers” Liz Steel and Urban Sketchers Liz Steel is an Australian who paints with Fountain Pen inks. Liz has her own blog www.lizsteel.com on which she helps other artists. She is also a prominent member of Urban Sketchers www.urbansketchers.com , a worldwide online platform of painters. Down here in Blue is an article of Liz takn from her blog (her text in blue) Exciting Alternative to Noodlers Bulletproof Ink Today I had a crazy day in the Manly area- 3 coffees and not a sketch of any of them!?! Perhaps some of you think it is crazy to want to sketch everytime I go into a coffee shop. I started the day having a quick coffee with an exciting local artist Fiona Verity that I meet last year at my Sketching Architecture workshop. I hope this will be the first of many catch ups. SHe does wonderful work of birds and landscapes and beach scenes. Check out her site here http://fionaverity.com.au/ I then went to store of Larry Post who have lots and lots of amazing stuff… very tempting to walk in their doors… so we went to a coffee shop down the road before I had time to look at their stock too much. Check out their very cool website here http://www.larrypost.com.au/ Anyway, my friend, local USker Chantal Vincent has been talking for months and months about the De Artamentis Ink that she uses in her lamy - it was recommended to her by Larry Post. Today I got some of it and am testing it. I know a LOT of people have issues with Noodlers Bulletproof. Personally, I never have a problem! I think the most important thing is to keep the ink flowing… and well, as anyone that visits my blog knows…my pen gets daily use!!! The ink in my pen is always flowing! Maybe once a year I do a sketch that the ink runs when I apply a watercolour… so it has served me well for many years. The owners of Larry Post told me that Lamy do not recommend Noodlers but DO recommend the De Artamentis Ink. They didn't have any of the document ink in stock but I got a bottle of the Archive Ink to try- and Chantal has lent me some of her document ink to try. I was told there is little difference between the two. I also got a bottle of the lamy ink to try - someone told me that they found it good to use. First test of the the De Artamentis Ink was VERY PROMISING!… a very wet yellow wash was a good test. But I am going to use for the next week or so and then do a full report. Very loose work today - using my amazing new Da Vinci brushes I got in Penang but having some other things on my mind so not concentrating much … there are much more important things in life than ink and brushes. Prov 27.1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Liz travels all over the world and has a good understanding for the needs of artists worldwide. According to Liz Permanent inks in various colours are the Holy Grail for ink artists. She is also a great fan of De Atramentis as you can see above and on her blog. Therefore all colours can be adapted on input of USK members. I Will come back to this later. Well to the Ink testing….finally General Behaviour. The ink is well flowing in a 1,5 Italic it is extremely wet. Funnily however it is extremely quickly drying. The green ink does not shade at all (neither do DA document ink Blue and Dark Blue) The brown ink does shade, although not extremely Permanency It is a Permanent Ink and ultra-proof against Bomb Raids. For more information on permanency I have inserted a link in this article. In order to be permanent the ink has to dig in to the fibres of the paper. This induces Bleedtrough. In normal nibs the bleedthrough is very acceptable even on the cheap paper I use for testing. The advantage of this is that the ink cannot be removed without leaving traces…… Well just read on down below The Blue sheen is from the colour of the toilet cleaner the green from the sink cleaner Because I am a lazy (bleep) I copied some of the text from my previous review DA Document ink Blue down here in blue italic This ink is mentioned for doctors, lawyers etc. and for all who need a permanent ink for official Documents To be qualified as a document ink the ink has to meet certain standards. The standard in Europe is ISO 12757-2. This means that the ink has to be lightfast and may not be influenced by any outer influences. To show you the resilience of the inks I have poured several aggressive Fluids over it and… Nothing happened. It is like if the ink was carved in stone…. Amazing… It is not only bulletproof but also bombproof … I believe the ink even survives a nuclear accident or bomb attack (sorry for not testing that ) The ink is extremely lightfast. This is tested and certified with the Woll-Skala, wool scale in English. This may sound peculiar, but isn’t that strange on second glance. In history quite often the same pigments used for Dyeing wool where used for inks as well. The Woll-Skala reaches from 1 not lightfast over 5 extremely lightfast to 8 extreme lightfast. The ink “of course” is WS 8. There are other resilient inks like inks based on iron gall or soot. The problem is that iron gall inks are very aggressive to both paper and nib. (the paper of old Dutch documents from the golden age are often eaten away partially by the ink) Both iron gall and soot inks may also clog the feed of your fountain pen. The De Atramentis inks are, as far as I understand, made with nano-particles. According to the noble Fountain Pen King Sire Richard of Binderheart. Nano-particle inks can be safely used in Fountain pens. I always have one Fountain Pen filled with the ink for work and flush it once every 2 months… No problem at all For more information on permanence and safety click the link down below https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/266035-on-permanent-ink-permanency-and-safety/ Feathering Not noticeable The Green The Brown Sort of milk chocolate brown Down here are some of the technical specs (as suggested by Ann Finley 2007) (not copied in but for this ink) points 1-5 1 = 5= Fountain Pens: Online best writer 0.8 italic nib: Online Best Wrtiter 1,4 Italic Paper: Leonardo Ringbuch, average quality school note book made in Austria Drying time: Ultrafast points 5 Flow: Like a dam break points: 5 Lubrication: smooth in both pens points: 5 Bleeding: stronger in broader nibs points 0.8=4 / 1,5=3 Feathering: none points 5 Shading: green none points: 0 Brown some points 3 Waterproof: no need to mention here points:5 Package: Only in bottles,Wide opening for easy filling up points: 3-4 (bottle is quite nice but the not very special, Availabilty: In Europe Good, D-A webshop www.tinten-online.de, Amazon, La Couronne Du Comte (NL), USA Amazon, DA Webshop www.de-atramentis.com maybe Brian Goulet www.gouletpens.com points: EU 4 USA???.... Availability All the the above mentioned colour are available over De Atramentis on the following website. www.tinten-online.de I have come in contact with the passionate owner of La Couronne du Comte, mr Dennis van de Graaf. He was enthusiastic and offered some help here. On Document and Wine inks. And…. Special Offers… I will let you know when these things will be ready at La Couronne du Comte. In Australia Larrypost.au sells De Atramentis inks. Liz Steel is a great fan of this shop. Do not let the prices disturb you. Prices are in Australian dollars. They are fair and equal As far as I understood, Goulet Pen has ordered some Document inks. For my FPN-friends in the USA this might be a way to save on shipping costs. Conclusion I am an Ink Addict. As an Addict I have become a great fan of several ink manufacturers (J. Herbin,Pelikan). As a very enthusiastic fan I am now in frequent contact with Dr Jansen. Dr Jansen is utterly friendly and passionate about inks. I always like to share my enthusiasm on Fountain Pens, Inks and shops. So I do frequently post my enthusiasm on De Atramentis now…. (Help Dr Jansen a bit on translation, he is better at ink making than at English he said) Well I believe these inks are superb again. They perfectly well and I can use more colours now at work One disadvantage: The green does not shade. The Brown does! I also have a black Document ink that I will review soon. I Will test the thinning agent too and post my version of “50 shades of grey” . I simply love De Atramentis for its creativity, the huge array of inks and being always open for their clients. And…. I love the wine inks…. They taste horribly but are of sheer beauty…. (I will post the Merlot soon) Dr Jansen was so kind to send Amberlea a bottle of Document Turquoise and Magenta. I believe Amberlea lks these colours and will test them. See you soon Peter

    Lovely Liquids "de Atramentis" Khaki

Lovely Liquids "De-Atramentis Khaki" Dear FPN friends, Yet another ink review. This Time it is De Atramentis Khaki Off course I will insert a handwritten High Res Review so that hopefully you can see the beautiful colour and the lovely shading of the Ink. I think the colour is very pretty and the schading is lovely but I would like to hear your opinion on that. There is one disadvantage to this ink. It is not waterproof like the D-A Jane Austen is. This " water fear" appears ofter wiht other inks too. I Have several blue inks (also from other manufactures) and some are waterproof, some are not. For example Waterman (funny name in this Case) Serenity Blue is not waterproof, where J. Herbin's 1670 blue remains very legible after a .splash. I promised to do a review on De Atramentis Document Inks Blue and Dark Blue... They will follow soon. I will also write a handwritten lines for comparison of the blue inks I currently have too Enjoy the review Down here are the technical specs (as suggested by Ann Finley 2007) points 1-5 1 = 5= Fountain Pens: Lamy Joy 1,5 Italic nib Paper: Leonardo Ringbuch, average quality school note book made in Austria Drying time: Approx. Less than 4 seconds with a medium nib / 8-10 Seconds with the 1,5 Italic nib points 4 Flow: Like if the Hoover Dam breaks points: 5 Wetness: Like the weather in the southern part of mary old England last winter points 5 (and still dries very fast ) Lubrication: very smooth points: 5 Bleeding: little points: 4 Shading: explicit wiht both medium and 1,5 Italic nibs Lovely points: 5 Waterproof: NOT points 0 Package: Only in bottles,Wide opening for easy filling up points: 3-4 (bottle is quite nice but the not very special, although the label is beautiful) Availabilty: In Europe Good, D-A webshop, Amazon, La Couronne Du Comte (NL), USA Brian Goulet but not all 255 inks points: EU 4 USA??? I Love the lovey soil brown colour and hte explicit shading .It is wet and smooth and still dries pretty fast... Historia De Atramentis

De Atramentis (company) history. Dear FPN Friends, As some of you , who read my topic "A Declaration of Love to De Atramentis, may know, I am a great fan of De Atramentis. Ifell in love with De Atramentis when I bought their Document ink and I am so happy now that I can use my beloved Fountain Pens for official documents now . If you want to know more about why I love De Atramentis i suggest you read the topic mentioned above. On the website www.dietintenmanufaktur.de a lot of information on the history of inks is published. The research on this history was made by Dr. Franz Josef Jansen the owner of De Atramentis. There really is a lot of interesting ink history on the website dating back till before christianity... Very Very interesting but to bad, only in German If Dr. Jansen allows me I will translate these ink history articles in the near future. The following text was taken and adapted from the website www.dietintenmanufaktur.de The text was only in German but I tried to translate it as correctly as possible... HISTORIA DE ATRAMENTIS In the middles ages it were mainly monks who specialised themselves in the developement of inks. Above that ink recipes found in the archives of of pharmacists, dating back to the 16th century. These pharmacists occupied themselves, beside medications, with questions of nature and physics. In the year 1735 the German pharmacist Franz Esser of Monchen Glattbach (German town) produce several inks, some of them based on recipes in the book De Atramentis (a.d. 1660). Beside that he developed several new inks, which recipes he then carefully archived. Franz Esser's son Josef inheritated both the recipes and the love for inks. After the death of Franz Esser the book "De Atramentis" was inheritated generation after generation till this finally fell in the hands of Dr. Franz-Josef Janssen the owner of "Die Tintenmanufaktur aka De Atramentis" In 1991, after extensive laboratory research, the first hand made De Atramentis inks where produced and in 1995 a completely new line of inks, the Genuss-Tinten (Pleasure Inks or Joy Inks) where introduced. Today De Atramentis produces 200 (TWOHUNDRED!!!) inks in 55 (FIFTYFIVE!!!) colours. Sofar the text which you can find (in German) on the above mentioned website the text beneath is of my origin The ingenuity of Dr Franz Josef Jansen, combined with his unlimited creativity and love for inks results in thee appearance of various new inks most frequently. His latest idea: The inkline "Women Power 2014" (Calamity Jane, Jeanne D'Arc) Although I am not a great fan of scented inks, I must mention that a vast array of these are produced... AND... Since I am a bookworm and read a lot, I must soon buy the ink called Bookworm. This inks smells like old books :-) My lord! Since I am also love wine whisky and cognac I must also buy the inks made with Barolo or Cabernet Sauvignon. They MUST be a joy (as long as I do not drink them :-) Thank you very much for your Interest. Hopefully more ancient ink history will be translated here soon. Kindest regards Peter Vlutters
  7. Lovely Liquids "De-Atramentis Jane Austen" Dear FPN friends, this is my first ink review so I believe it is not perfect by far... If you have any suggestions on improving my review skills I will be delighted to hear so. I have added a high res scan and I hope it is acurate and that the colours are as lovely as in my "live view" The scan is my hand written review and I hope you can see the beaty of the ink in there, sorry for my handwriting it is still a bit "spastic fantastic" but I will work on that in the future. Down here are some of the technical specs (as suggested by Ann Finley 2007) points 1-5 1 = 5= Fountain Pens: Parker Premier medium nib: Lamy Joy 1,5 Italic Paper: Leonardo Ringbuch, average quality school note book made in Austria Drying time: Approx. 7-10 seconds with a medium or 1,5 italic nib points 3 Flow: Like a river during a monsoon points: 5 Lubrication: smooth in both pens points: 5 Bleeding: quite some on the average quality paper I used points: 3 Shading: some points: 3-4 Waterproof: Still very legible after several finger tips rubbed ont the written text of water points: 4 Package: Only in bottles,Wide opening for easy filling up points: 3-4 (bottle is quite nice but the not very special, although the label is beautiful) Availabilty: In Europe Good, D-A webshop, Amazon, La Couronne Du Comte (NL), USA Brian Goulet but not all 255 inks points: EU 4 USA??? Quality: Hand Made in Germany points: 5 I just love this ink. the colour is dark green which makes it suitable for daily work as long as the documents are not "too official" (I guess you use blue or black document ink in that case). The colour is moss green. It has a lovely ancient touch to it, like in old 19th century of pre WWII letters. I always have one of my Fountain Pens filled with this lovely liquid (and I only have 7 Fountain Pens and since I have 10 inks I MUST really LOVE it ) Hope you enjoyed the review and that it was usuable for you. Next review D-A Document Blue and Dark Blue... Amazing stuff Bullet and Bombproof!!! Kindest Regards Peter Vlutters
