Parker 105 Loose Nib -How To Fix

I picked up a stainless Parker 105 fountain pen from a popular auction site. The pen is very nice except that the nib (mounted on the feed) is so loose in the section that it will slide out very easily. With a small, gentle shake it falls right out. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Reform 4328 With A Loose Nib

Good evening, I recently received a Reform 4328 with a surprisingly nice flexible and bouncy nib. The problem is that the nib unit does not hold the nib quite well. When unscrewing the nib unit, sliding the feed out and re-positioning the nib where it should be, I get no improvement. Heating the nib unit doesn't yield any result either. From what I see, either the nib is too short and doesn't go far enough into the nib unit or the feed ring isn't tight enough. Would any of you more experienced collectors have advice? If at all possible I really want to avoid gluing the nib to the feed ... Wishing you a very nice end of year ;-) Florent
  3. Hey everyone, I bought a Lamy Aion about a week ago. I know people have polarizing opinions on the design of this pen, but I'm purely looking for your experience with how it performs. I can't seem to find any others with these issues, so I'm trying to determine if I need to send it back or not. I'm looking for input in two areas: 1. At random times, when I uncap the pen there's often ink blobs on the nib, and sometimes the section (see photo). There's some air pressure when capping the pen, so my guess is that uncapping the pen has enough suction that sometimes it's pulling out some ink from the feed - but if that's true, and it's part of the pen design, that's a pretty big flaw. My Lamy 2000 has never exhibited this issue. I'm not dropping the pen or banging it around on my desk I'm not even carrying it around in a backpack or anything - it's just sitting on my desk. I've also had the pen inked with two different inks so I don't think the type of ink has anything to do with it. 2. The nib seems to be loose. Since the only other Lamy pen I own is a 2000, I have no experience with these Z50 style nibs, but it seems to "wiggle" back and forth such that the nib isn't centered with the feed (see photo - which also just happened to exhibit my first problem when I uncapped to take the photo!). It doesn't affect the writing, however, so I'm just curious if others are seeing the same thing or not. Thanks for your time! This is my first topic post on The FPN - I really love the community here Cheers!

    Parker 95 - Loose Nib

Hi all, I've just taken delivery of a Parker 95 and on gentle dismantlement for proper cleaning, discovered that the nib/feed are falling-out loose. When in proper alignment with the hood, the nib will come partially out with a gentle tap on the back of the section, although it feels somewhat firmer when off-centre. Looking into the hood, the air-channel is at approx 8:00, which doesn't seem to be right, looking at the nib/feed. I don't want to in mob-handed with a screwdriver or similar and try to rotate things without knowing exactly how (damage ahoy!), and I don't want to write it off and buy a replacement shell just yet when it feels like it should be fixable.

    Pelikan Celebry - Nib Issues

Hi, I recently bought a Pelikan Celebry but it seems the nib rotates in situ - will not come out but it does rotate which is mildly irritating. Is there anything I can do to affix nib to section? Tried turning to see if it screws in but no luck. Is there an adhesive that will work or do I get a new nib unit? Your assistance is, as ever, much appreciated. Roger
