MONTBLANC - Sakura Precious 88 - Artisan Limited Edition Fountain Pen - Asia Series
bitsbatsbobs posted a topic in Montblanc
Hi all, I hope everyone is having a good week! I am looking to sell this fountain pen, amongst others, due to a recent change of circumstances. What is the best approach to take if I want a quick sale? Any advice or tips on marketing or value are welcome. Sakura is a very important symbol for the Japanese culture. It symbolizes beauty and transience, as well as the beginning of spring. Produced in 2002, this Sakura honors the Lady Ise and is fashioned from 18 karat rose gold highlighted with cherry blossoms painted in exquisite enamel work. Built on the Boheme chassis this exquisite pen features a retracting 18K 750 rose gold Medium (M) nib marked with Kanji characters.4 1/2 ” (11.4 cm).Limited to only 88 piece world-wide. This precious Limited Edition is a unique treasure from Montblanc Atelier. Each individual writing instrument is the work of a master craftsman and bears a specific limited edition number as proof of its exclusivity. Presented in an ivory colored box with all original packaging and papers. Thank you. -
This is a limited edition ink and it comes in special bottles.

I just noticed these today on AliExpress: which are purportedly new limited-edition, market-exclusive colours for China. They are listed by that seller at the same price as the gold-trimmed translucent colours in the regular line-up (Bourgogne, Laurel Green, Chartres Blue); the available nib options are F and M only. The net price of US$112.55 (plus tax, where applicable), after automatic and/or easily accessible discounts, is marginally less than the Japanese domestic market MSRP of ¥18,000(+tax) for the regular colours going by today's exchange rates. Free international shipping included (at least for Australia, Belgium, Mexico, UK, US and Zimbabwe, as far as I've checked just now). The inclusion of a converter with silver trim in the retail package seems a bit out of place for either of those colours, especially when previously the silver-trimmed converters are sold at a slight premium over the ‘standard’ gold-trimmed ones.

Hello, I am hoping to get some direction. I purchased a used 75th anniversary Montblanc 149. About a 2 weeks ago I noticed that a small piece of the rose gold flaked off of the nib near the breather hole. Does anyone know of someone that I can reach out to that can completely re-plate the nib. I understand MB did a really bad job on plating these nibs so I would like to get it re-done so that I don't have to worry about it in the future.

New J. S. STAEDLER special edition and ancient wood
adamselene posted a topic in Other Brands - Europe
Can’t find any info about this on line. Big gold nib, fantastic feel, but haven’t dipped it to try it. Going back to store soon. Expensive, about 1600 Euros. The story how I came across it, as well as more pix, are here: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/366734-sevilla-papelería-ferrer/#comment-4540900 i naively asked the owner if it was a new brand. But these are the Staedlers who started making pencils in the 1400’s, and makr ke tech pens etc today. if you call the store and buy it before I get there, please save me. tol-

How-to: Set, or change, personal info that others can see about me
A Smug Dill posted a blog entry in Sus Minervam docet
It helps to explore this yourself, revisiting once in a while if need be, and keep in mind where each of those personal info fields are entered. Don't leave it until the urge to change something specific to come upon you, and only then bother to ask the question! Invest the time surveying upfront, instead of waste it later waiting for an answer from nobody in particular. Most of the fields shown above are self-evident as to what they are. I think the only ones that could do with explanation are: Security and Privacy: There is only one setting under there, and that is a toggle for whether your online status (including ‘last active’ date or time) is visible to others Content View Behavior: That has nothing to do with what others can see about you, but only where you would like to start reading when accessing content Enable status updates: This toggle enables/disables the public feed on your profile page; if you disable it, then nobody (including you) can post publicly visible ‘status updates’ or any other message against your profile, but if you enable it, then anyone — friend, foe, or complete stranger — can post something there whenever, without waiting for you to initiate and then only reply to what you wrote Notification Settings have nothing to do with what others can see about you, and so is out of scope for this article, and I'm not going to delve into those right now. (You can look here, here, and here to wrap your head around how notifications work with respect to followed content.) N.B. There is a possibility that some of the above settings and data fields may not be available to Bronze members and/or Silver members, but I have no way of testing that or scoping it out. — • — Another way of getting to the Edit Profile dialog, and the way to change your profile photo (or ‘avatar’), is here: — • — Freeform, custom member titles that one enters for oneself are long gone, and have not been a thing since FPN came back from a long hiatus and platform upgrade late in 2020.-

FWI commemorative edition Fenestro pen in bocote
A Smug Dill posted a gallery image in FPN Image Albums
From the album: Chinese pens
I came across this on Instagram just now while looking for reviews of Fine Writing International's Fenestro pen. This looks pretty nice, although unlike the resin-bodied Fenestro models which are fitted with steel JoWo #6 nibs, this version has a gold JoWo #5 nib. I'm not sure if this can be used as an eyedropper-filled pen with the barrel serving as the ink reservoir. I have an FWI Planet series ‘Mercury’ pen, and am pretty impressed with the build quality and writing performance. Its biggest ‘flaw’, to me, is taking more than three whole turns to uncap, so I wanted to find out whether the Fenestro offers any improvement in that regard. Irrespective of that, I guess I'm not inclined to spend US$260 (plus shipping) on a pen made in either China or Taiwan.© Fine Writing International

Aurora 8"88" Giove, closed and sitting on tonal reference card.jpg

This pen is rather tricky to photo and show off its true colours, so I placed it on top of a reference card to help you better calibrate your perception of the colours in its aurolide body.© A Smug Dill

Dear friends, I've recently got attracted by Montblanc limited edition pens, like the PoA and Writers Edition. I can easily find their list according to their release year, and current trading price on Ebay. But I'm interested in making some chart including their prices when they were originally released. Especially, I want to compare their prices when released with the price of plain Montblanc 149 at that time. I can find some on Ebay if the outer box includes a price tag. For example, I can find Hemingway was $600 on this listing on Ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Montblanc-Writers-Edition-Hemingway-Fountain-Pen-Brand-New-In-Box-SEALED/233642242043?hash=item366629affb:g:Va0AAOSw3nNew~V7), but it looks like Montblanc had quitted to write the price on the outer box quite a while ago. Could you let me know if there's any resource or assorted table that I can find their release price? Thank you in advance.

Leonardo Officina Italiana Tainan Pen Show 2019 Limited Edition
MichalK posted a topic in Italy - Europe
Leonardo Officina Italiana from time to time makes special limited editions of their pens. We all know this. But some of those editions are not just a known model in different material. They more unique and special, and one of them is Leonardo Tainan Pen Show 2019. Only 60 pieces, and in the ebonite version even rarer. Unique pen - ebonite, ebonite feed, gold nib, real piston filler - not "captured converter". A thick hand-made sterling silver ring on cap... A special pen, isn't it? And two of them (no 28 and 30 out of 60) are going to be even more rare (if i succeed). I am lacquering them with urushi. One is already in the process, the other one is waiting (inked )) Below - beauty shot, explosion pic and video of part of the lacquering process. -

Marlen Silver 7 Wonders Christ The Redeemer Fountain Pen L.e. 77 Pcs
FPcollection posted a topic in Italy - Europe
Recent haul from the flea bay! Italian fountain pen maker MARLEN's Silver 7 Wonders "Christ the Redeemer" fountain pen , happens to be a Limited Edition too. The seller mentioned that each design is limited to 77 pieces, although I am not sure about this information. These beautifully crafted and exquisite looking fountain pens had my attention for quite some time, but for the price. These pens are not inexpensive, or at least the website www.giardino.it/pens/marlen/index.php has these listed at 1490 Euros or 1670 US Dollars (which is in fact an "offer price" on the actual MRP of 1740 Euro or 1950 US Dollars). I very well assume that shipping would be extra, and taxes, if any. Well, the haul was at...well, let me keep that undisclosed While this piece of art will take a while to reach me after it has traveled half the world, here are the pictures from the seller. As I do not know much about Marlens and have never used them before, I will be honest - it was an impulse buy! Feel free to comment and let me know how you feel about this new acquisition of mine...- 7 replies
