  2. From the album: Hanging in the balance

The Kaigelu 316 has a reputation for being uncomfortably back-heavy. In 2020, it appears some design changes have been introduced in the new release colours of the model, such that the weight balance has shifted somewhat. (If I recall correctly, the converter attached to the gripping section was more than half-full of ink when I took this photo.)

    Kaigelu 316 Amber

I just received my Kaigelu 316 this morning and spent the day doing an unboxing and review YouTube video. I had a little difficulty writing with it the first time as it skipped significantly. However, after looking at it carefully, I realigned one of the tines and now it writes like a champ. It is a very wide line for a Medium nib; almost broad. And it is now a very wet writer. I can't say enough about the shimmering look of this pen. Here are a few photos I snapped: Here is my YouTube review:
  4. Pretty much everyone loves the Kaigelu 316. Some folks don't appreciate the finial weight and go through some pain to replace it with a plastic one. Some folks don't like the nib, and go about replacing the whole nib housing (which won't take a standard #6 or #5 nib) with a Bock housing from Beaufort Ink in the UK (which enables swapping in a #6 nib) The finial hasn't bothered me, but I have done the whole Bock nib housing swap on one and it was a royal pain. The nib and feed came out with no issues. But the nib housing didn't come out easy like it did for some people. I destroyed the old ho
  5. I recently exhanged the nib in my Kaigelu 316 pen with a Titanium Bock nib from Beaufort Ink (UK). http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah12/phzervas/93F82412-A163-48E1-88BB-E5B4EE7B8D44_zpsbuvqysnl.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah12/phzervas/2B0A8CA6-CA0B-47DF-93CF-76770C392C45_zpsslyblstm.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah12/phzervas/3AB1E03C-FFDA-4592-9E5D-D967C4E528BD_zpsrgsjhhi3.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah12/phzervas/D0D6918C-DC5F-4D6B-9047-85330A442456_zpsp0hhmnri.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah12/phzervas/0DFF4BB4-911C-481C-BAA2-AF4206DD2EC7_
  6. 1. TITLE Modification of Kaigelu 316 fountain pen using Bock type 250 nib unit (EF, stainless steel, 2-tone) and Beaufort Ink premium Ink Converter. 2. INTRODUCTION Recently, I acquired two Kaigelu 316 fountain pens which I adore, one is ivory or pearl colored with black swirls and the other is brownish colored with orange waves. The pens seem to be imitations of the more expensive Parker Duofold fountain pens. I bought them without their box from an ebay store in China, for under 20euros each (1). Figs 1a-1b 3. OBJECTIVE However, I was a little disappointed by the nib of the Kaigelu p
  7. Dear FPN friends. Thanks to FPN i discovered the Kaigelu 316 pens... Thank you. I saw the pen at Isellpens.com... The price is $ 24.99 = 18.00 I also discovered PENBOY.CO.UK. They sell the Kaigelu for Bpound 29,96 which is 36,00. Though Pen Boy is a liitte more expensive I guess I save on shipping costs considering that I live in Austria. The Pen Boy websites mention on it's website not to publish adress and telephone number. The reason given is that this is a private person, who started working from his home adress, not so long ago.... The 64.000 question is is this
