New Namiki Emperor Rakucho And Cherry Blossom

Another new Namiki : the Emperor Rakucho and Cherry Blossom. The Rakucho is an imaginary bird flying in paradise. Represented as a couple, it suggests the hope of a long and happy marriage, accompanied by a mutual desire for eternity. Cherry blossom petals are inlaid with mother of pearl and polished for a refined finish. The cherry bark structure (sakuragawa), evoked as a background on the barrel, is created using the Oh-Hi-Nuri, a traditional way of painting cherry blossom bark. This Namiki Emperor Rakucho and Cherry Blossom is signed by artist Masahiro Yamada and will join the Namiki Emperor collection from 15 November 2020. Coming in November. Reserve yours at catherine@sakuragallery.com https://www.sakurafountainpengallery.com/en/boutique/detail/new-emperor-rakucho-and-cherry-blossom-namiki-emperor-collection

    A Little Platinum Nib Love

Has anyone else fallen for the Platinum #3776 Yamanaka with a soft medium nib? It's a beautiful pen to be sure and I do have a fascination with demos. However, in this case, the nib is just as fantastic as the pen. I only had a sample of Platinum Mixable Silky Purple ink, but put it to best use by loading it in the Yamanaka SM. This might just be the smoothest duo in my collection. Call it a controlled glide with a little line variation. Platinum only made a limited number of the Yamanaka SM pens, but I hope the nib appears on more models in future. It's a worthy addition to the line.

    Super Deal On Super Pen

Pilot Metropolitan - $15.00 - While re-ordering ink, I can across the Pilot Metropolitan in white. It was only $15, less than the ink, so I decided to give it a try, as I like white pens. I am glad I didn't. I have had the pen for about three weeks and every time I used it I am amazed and impressed. It has a very smooth nib and has started without a skip every time. It has a medium nib. Being made in Japan it is probably a bit more than fine but less than medium. If you are looking for a good starter pen, an "inexpensive but not cheap" pen or want to try a Japanese pen, give this your consideration. It won't replace my Pelikins or Sailors, but it has made it into the rotation with those pens. I purchased it at ISellPens.com. Todd has always provided very good and very fast service.
