I picked up this beautiful brown and green Inkograph for $15 in a local Antique Mall yesterday, and I can't for the life of me figure out what model it is or what year-range it may have been manufactured in (mid 40s to early 50s maybe?). This pen looks almost exactly like their Ink-D-Cator line, except that my pen is way more tapered at the ends of the barrel and cap. Also, the clip reads INK O GRAPH instead of INK D CATOR. Does anyone know what model this is and when they manufactured them? Thanks!

Does anybody have inkograph parts out any inkograph? I have a grey and gold trim inkograph. For identification The patent is #70-200, the ends have concentric circles and a bevel, the grip has five series of lines that go long-short-long, and the weight/wire is metal and clear plastic. The wire is wonky at the base and there is a kink at the end. Right now it is writing really dry and I can't seem to fix it.

Okay, fellow fountain pen enthusiasts. I spent a little money today, and I want to see how poorly (or how good :-) I managed to do. Is this pen worth a restoration, or did I spend $20 on a frankenpen? This is pen #1. The clip is marked Inkograph, and the lever is marked "Made in USA", pen is stamped/engraved "Inkograph" over "Registered in USA & Foreign Countries". The plating appears pretty darn good. Question #1 - The ink sac is pink rubber, and does not appear to have any cracks. Is that the original ink sac? Question #2 - The lower section of the pen (with the ink sac) does not fit tightly into the pen. There are bits of old shellac on it. Does that appear to be original, or is this a frankenpiece someone tried to fit to the pen? Question #3 -- The nib and feed I have NOT been able to remove. The nib appears to be gold and not plated (carats unknown). What I can read is "ME" over "Ma" over "U." I'm assuming that the second two lines would read "Made in the" over "U.S.A." Would that be the original nib to the pen? It's in superb shape, unbent. So...did I buy a frankenpen ? Is it worth fitting the ink sack/nib section back into the pen? Is it worth restoring? Yes, that is a lot of questions from a newbie who had a moment of weakness and couldn't say "no" to buying an old pen

I have finally repaired my first pen! Awhile ago I found an old inkograph and a lady sheaffer xi in an antique store, the lady sheaffer was an xxf nib and worked fine but the inkograph needed restoring. Firstly; you might want to be careful if you are restoring one of these be carefull when taking off the barrel. It was glued on and was really hard to get off, I thought I was going to break it. Also watch out for the sac because the sac was rock hard and plastered on the side of the barrel as well so if you know how I can clean it off that would be helpful(the new sac barely slides in). The wire was also badly bent but it is pretty straight now. The barrel is kinda short so I had to cut off quite a bit from the sac. The tip is a western fine or eastern medium, it sometimes starts off slow at the beginnings of sentences or words because of the bent wire, and of course is hard as a nail. I used a size 22 sac and it worked nicely. The other pen pictured is the lady sheaffer that i also really like. I definitely recommend fountainpensacs.com, and Inkograph stylos!
