  1. How do you guys use your empty ink sample vials? I like trying out new inks so I have more ink samples than I have bottles of ink, but at this point I don't really like the idea of throwing out the empty vials-it seems wasteful because they're plastic-but I also don't know many other uses for them that makes keeping empty ones around worth it. I don't mix my own inks either. Can you recycle them? Or if anyone else has some alternative use for the vials (even outside of the fountain pen world) please share them with me!
  2. 2 whole milliliters of ink. What do you do when you open that vial? Ink a couple of pens but don't fill the converter? And what to do when the vial gets so low that you can't fill your pen? (I have several samples with just that little bit at the bottom...) Looking for suggestions for making the most of that 2ml.

    Interest In Ink Sample Subscriptions?

Since Goulet Pens stopped offering Ink Drop, and Ink Crate has been discontinued, there really aren't any domestic (CONUS) services for those who maybe want an easy surprise subscription of ink samples. I know there's Arledrop but I liked the thematic nature of the Ink Drop a lot more. So my question is this: has there ever been any interest in maybe starting up a thematic ink sample subscription service again? Maybe through Kickstarter or Patron. Or is this something people would be interested in?
  5. Hey All, You might be familiar with Goulet's Ink Drop subscription that had been discontinued some time ago. Now in its third month, the Ink Flight has taken up the task of supplying a fun, mystery set of fountain pen inks to the worldwide pen community. And, it's gained quite a following! The last two months have sold out within a day of announcing Flight. This month, the number of spots have grown to accommodate more people who have otherwise missed out. Plenty of spots remain, but they're going rapidly. It isn't a subscription with any commitment. There are three options which are listed in the image below: If you're interested to see what was put in the last two month's of Flights, you can check out the reviews written by SquishyInk and by Michael Elson. If you have any questions about the Flight, feel free to comment below. I run the program, so I can answer any questions you have. Thanks!
  6. It's time for me to reduce my ink sample collection. Since International Fountain Pen Day is next week, and because I've appreciated the PIFs on FPN in the past, I've decided to give away a bunch of ink samples. I have 29 samples picked out so far and I might add another one or two before a winner is chosen. Many of the samples have been tested; some are completely unused. They range from about 1ml to several ml. All should have enough for AT LEAST one fill; some will have enough for 5-6 fills. Brands included: Noodler's, KWZ, Pelikan, Private Reserve, J. Herbin, Faber-Castell, Akkerman, and Rohrer & Klinger. The details: List yourself in this thread to enter. I'll choose a winner by random number generator on Fountain Pen Day (Nov. 4) and consider all entries as of the time I get around to drawing a number. I'll post the screen name of the winner on here and PM the winner to get mailing information.Free postage within the US.International entrants agree to pay the difference between US postage cost and the actual international shipping cost (if it's noticeable--otherwise, I'll just cover it).

    Foolish Dictionary

Hi everyone! I'm new to fountain pens, and I quickly found Plistumi's Devil's Dictionary and I love the designs, even though maybe some of the definitions were beyond me. So I searched a bit and came across the Foolish Dictionary, which is perfect because I'm a bit of a goof ball and also excessively creative. So I've started my new Foolish Dictionary and I wanted to share it with you. I'm hoping to improve my handwriting and drawing skills along with trying out as many different inks as I can! So here it goes:
